This is my 2nd dc. We weren’t trying so unexpected but I’ve had a feeling something was going on for the last week. Tested this morning and got a BFP.

So it’s DC2 (already have a 4 year old DS)
Due date 5/11/18 I think

My feb 2014 group is fab and I’ve made some lovely friends on there so hoping to do the same this time all being well!

Oh, @FireworksBaby, I hope everything turns out OK. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. We're all here for you.

sarahhh1984 · 14/03/2018 13:45

@Magpie24 My spotting seems to have eased up completely now but I was still getting smears when I wiped until a couple of days ago. Mw didn't seem concerned at my booking in and said the fact that I'm getting various pregnancy symptoms and that it was brown blood means it's most likely nothing to worry about. So sounds like we're pretty much the same. It's good that our various medical professionals are being reassuring.

My early scan is tomorrow. Quite nervous despite knowing it's probably OK.

keepinghopeful · 14/03/2018 14:12

@FireworksBaby really hope alls ok, will be a long week for you

FireworksBaby · 14/03/2018 14:30

Thank you for all the good thoughts and hoping it all turns out well for everyone else too, it is a scary time even when everything is going to plan!
I am reassured by the number of people on the thread who've had spotting / bleeding and got through it to a successful pregnancy. Just keeping fingers crossed for the mo.

MochiBean · 14/03/2018 14:35

Does anyone else feel nauseated al day long? Maybe it's the UTI and inability to wee talking, but I'm feeling rather deflated at the moment. I feel absolutely rotten through and through. I think my little bean hates me.

I am 6weeks and 2 days x

TG83 · 14/03/2018 14:49

@keepinghopeful - I'm in a similar situation, two early miscarriages last year. I'm trying not to be negative but equally don't want to get too excited if this pregnancy isn't successful. I hope everything goes well for you

Teaisnecessary · 14/03/2018 14:57

Thinking of you and your bean too @Fireworksbaby. I’m another who’s had an early bleed last time that turned out to be fine. Hope you get happy news at your next scan.

Teaisnecessary · 14/03/2018 15:02

Welcome @Theimprobablegirl and congrats. What an amazing way to get your BFP! Not surprised you’re a bit in shock!

Nightmanagerfan · 14/03/2018 15:28

@mochibean yes I feel horrendous. Even without a UTI to deal with I’m exhausted and have constant nausea. Still haven’t been sick but almost was this morning. I’m 7 weeks today and my pregnancy app did warn me that this could be a bad week for symptoms.

Sending love and ginger tea to you all!

MochiBean · 14/03/2018 15:30

@Nightmanagerfan I'm glad I'm not the only one. I keep ready it's only going to get worse next week and I'm not sure I can handle it. I'm a teacher and am really struggling to actually do my job properly at the moment between the total exhaustion and constant nausea 😔

MeredithShepherd · 14/03/2018 15:53

What pregnancy apps have you all got and recommend? I have pregnancy + and Ovia... are there any that are better?

OP posts:
BadBadBeans · 14/03/2018 16:17

@Magpie24 I feel 100% fine but I'm only 5 weeks tomorrow, so it's early. Glad your scan went well. Good luck with yours @sarahhh1984

@MochiBean I'm sorry you feel so crummy. Definitely your little bean does not hate you! It's just making sure that you know it's there!!! I used to be a teacher too. It's quite hard being pregnant and not being able to go to the toilet when you need to! Is there anyone you can tell at school to put something in place to help you? Or would you rather keep it quiet for now?

@TheImprobableGirl how fantastic! Yes yes, do stay here if you'd like to. We had a very early birth on my last thread (doing very well now!), and a few late ones too, so the spread of ages ended up being about three months in the end I think.

@MeredithShepherd I used Ovia last time; I liked the daily updates, but found the size comparisons a bit misleading.

I've just been going back through my thread for my first pregnancy (comparing symptoms!) and saw that we used to put our weeks+days at the end of our posts to help keep track of where everyone is. Would that be useful? Like this:
4+6

MochiBean · 14/03/2018 16:19

@BadBadBeans I've told a couple of the ladies I work with and they are beingnlovely and supportive... I can run to the loo whenever I need as the man who teaches next door just watches my class for me. But the constant nausea makes it so hard to focus on actual teaching. My poor class must be so bored haha

TheImprobableGirl · 14/03/2018 17:33

Ah thanks for having me! Well you all seem a lovely chatty bunch - do you have a list or something?

Me:
I'm 29, this will be 3rd child, other 2 both girls (7 and 3) no idea on EDD but sometime in October/November I guess Grin Hopefully i'm not secretly 6 months pregnant, will only know once I manage to fit in a scan!

Emelene · 14/03/2018 17:46

Has anyone had any thoughts about paying for an early scan? I can't work out if it would be helpful for me or not .... I was thinking of waiting till after 8 weeks.

GiveMummyTheWhizzer · 14/03/2018 17:54

@Emelene we are thinking about an early scan. 1. Because I'm panicking and 2. Because DH dad passed away last week and he would like to put a scan picture in the coffin. I think it's his way of making sure his dad knows about the baby as we only found out the day he was put in to intensive care on the ventilator.

Magpie24 · 14/03/2018 18:33

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer I'm so sorry for your loss but that is a lovely idea.

@Emelene I had an early scan because of spotting and have another one for 8+3 scheduled but if I didn't I would have paid for one. I'm so anxious generally and am happy to pay for peace of mind.

Everyone, I need your morning sickness tips. Had some mild nausea that was being managed with ginger biscuits but today I've been awful all day and actually vomited, thankfully on a working from home day. I work in a fairly stressful job where I'm presenting at meetings regularly, back to back calls etc. Does anyone have any tips?!

toasterstrudle · 14/03/2018 18:59

@TheImprobableGirl congratulations! There's a few girls on number 3 here! Number 2 for me. There's a list further down and @olderthanyouthink (I think!) made a spreadsheet too further down this chat.

@Emelene I can't decide on an early scan either. Part of me would like the reassurance, we had one last time due to bleeding at 8 weeks and saw a heartbeat which was amazing. But then my mum had a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks so I think would that make it worse if I'd had a positive scan at 8 weeks? I'm not sure what to do, I'm a bit of an overthinker/worrier as it is. Confused

toasterstrudle · 14/03/2018 19:00

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer that is such a beautiful idea Thanks

MeredithShepherd · 14/03/2018 19:05

I feel really nauseous today. I never got any hint of nausea in my last pregnancy. It’s so weird how already both of my pregnancies are completely different. Maybe because they have different dads (prime Jezza K candidate right here) or maybe because this one isn’t a boy?!Hmm

OP posts:
MiniMinions · 14/03/2018 19:05

Wowzers...just caught up on yesterday evening and today! I’m just exhausted and not sleeping well and nausea feeling in back of throat on and off all day.

@MeredithShepherd I was given Lactulose when had DC1 which helped with constipation.

@olderthanyouthink I just bought some stuff in a size bigger than normal that then lasted a little while and could wear after pregnancy as well before lost more weight etc.

@LastNightsMakeUp yep am shattered and not sleeping properly, having weird dreams (Simon Cowell was involved last night 😆)

@MochiBean hope situation improves! Am also a teacher and nausea feeling in back of throat not helping!!

@Rose900 I’m still using up the seven seas trying for baby one as I was buying them on 3 for 2 offer. When they are done will move onto the pregnancy ones. It’s what I did last time as trying for baby ones are ok for early pregnancy too.

Welcome @keepinghopeful , @Primrose16 , @TheImprobableGirl and @Rosiebunny - keeping everything crossed for you

@FireworksBaby - keeping everything crossed for you too

@Magpie24 - haven’t had any here yet but I did have brown last pregnancy and doctors said to me if red more of a concern as brown is old blood

@sarahhh1984 - hope scan goes ok tomorrow

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer - sending lots of hugs, lost my Dad over a month ago and wished had been able to tell him but hoping he’s watching over xx if decide not to do early scan could always write a letter to put in the coffin?

SakuraSunrise · 14/03/2018 19:08

Wow, this thread has moved quickly while I've been at work today!

@FireworksBaby keeping everything crossed for you, I had quite a bit of spotting with DS and all was well, but I know what a horrible wait it is for scans with it going on.

@MochiBean how are you feeling now you poor thing?

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer that's a really lovely idea.

sarahhh1984 · 14/03/2018 19:10

Nausea definitely worse this time than last time and peaking in evenings. DH is currently putting DD to bed and I'm curled up on sofa feeling like boiled s**te. 🤢 Not 100% sure how much of it is morning sickness and how much is nerves about scan tomorrow.

Fidgety31 · 14/03/2018 19:20

@MeredithShepherd
I have nausea and never had it with my previous three pregnancies - different dad here too or maybe because my other three kids are boys and this might be a girl ?
Will find out in November!

TheImprobableGirl · 14/03/2018 19:32

I'm definitely hoping to find out what i'm having - currently having a calippo Grin they're great for morning/evening/allday sickness!

All of my pregnancies are with the same father and various ranges of nausea so far!
