This is my 2nd dc. We weren’t trying so unexpected but I’ve had a feeling something was going on for the last week. Tested this morning and got a BFP.

So it’s DC2 (already have a 4 year old DS)
Due date 5/11/18 I think

My feb 2014 group is fab and I’ve made some lovely friends on there so hoping to do the same this time all being well!

@MochiBean - hope you're doing okay. Speak to 111 - it sounds like urinary retention and if so it's a matter for the hospital rather than the GP. I hope you feel better soon!

MochiBean · 14/03/2018 08:23

Thanks for the replies all! Have just spoken to a GP and he said that as I am now able to go a tiny bit (trickles at best) to wait and see if that improves throughout the day... but if I go back to not being able to go at al for 6 hours to go to A&E...

Wish me luck.

Happ7Bunny · 14/03/2018 08:25

@badbadbeans thanks for your reply. Just plain weird.
I have to take co-codomol 30/500 for period pains so I pray this is a period as it does say on leaflet not to take in pregnancy.
Just keep trying and when it happens it'll happen.
Gotta have positivity!
Thank you for your advice and guidance.
Think I'll have to go off of this link but don't know how! 😅

moomoo85 · 14/03/2018 09:02

@MochiBean try leaning forward and get a measuring jug of warm water and pour it over as you are trying to pass urine. Another options would be sitting in a warm bath.

Hope it sorts itself out soon

MochiBean · 14/03/2018 09:19

Thanks @moomoo85 - I've tried leaning forward, but not the warm water option.

I know UTIs can cause miscarriage so now I'm really starting to freak out. Eek. I really hope it sorts itself soon/these antibiotics start to work. How long do they normally take? I took my first on Monday evening.

Saraswati · 14/03/2018 09:23

I've already left the big Facebook group, too many people in it! My last bus one was created later and there's a core of about 30 of us that keep it active 3 years later. Also as this is number 2 I don't need to do the constant worrying posting Confused. Symptoms have subsided a bit today but I know they come and go, having just got my head around the pregnancy it would be a real shitter if it goes wrong!

Teaisnecessary · 14/03/2018 09:41

@Mochibean so sorry you’re going through this, UTIs are miserable at the best of times. In my experience I was feeling a lot better within hours of the first pill, though no doubt it varies from person to person. Sorry - not trying to worry you further! You absolutely did the right thing speaking to the doctor and it’s worth following it up sooner rather than later if you’re not feeling an improvement. Really hope you are feeling better very soon.

Rose900 · 14/03/2018 10:05

@bangwhistle that’s it, it feels like forever... what brand of folic acid tablets are you on, ladies? I am with Seven Seas stage 2 pregnancy. Any feedback? xx

sarahhh1984 · 14/03/2018 10:34

@Rose900 I'm on the Seven Seas as well. I took their Trying For a Baby vitamins when we were ttc. They're so much cheaper than Pregnacare!

BadBadBeans · 14/03/2018 10:54

@Mochibean ugh how horrible for you. I hope it all sorts itself out quickly. Try not to worry too much - you've done the right thing by speaking to the doctor. Your antibiotics should be helping, and you know what your next step will be if there isn't an improvement. Take it easy!

@Happ7Bunny once you haven't posted on a thread for a while it disappears from your 'I'm on' list. Best of luck to you in the future!

@Rose900 I'm taking bog standard Tesco folic acid, left over from my last pregnancy (still in date!). I've got about three weeks' worth left so will prob switch on to something with vitamin D afterwards, or a full-on pregnancy multi-vit.

I had totally forgotten that people call their little babies-to-be 'beans', which makes my user name seem rather odd. It is actually just a Doctor Who quote! I might cast around for a different one today...

Pumpkin2018 · 14/03/2018 11:17

I'm also on seven seas stage 2, I took them throughout my last pregnancy and although I felt slightly nauseous I was never sick, I don't know if the ginger extract in them helped or not.
Mochibean I hope you're starting to improve, if not I would definitely get back in touch with the gp soon.

moomoo85 · 14/03/2018 11:27

I am taking seven seas but also high dose folic acid that my doctor has prescribed. I am wondering if the seven seas is one of the reasons that my bowels are awful.

wejammin · 14/03/2018 11:51

I bought 5 big boxes of prenatal vitamins and omega 3 from quality save about 6 months ago when we started ttc. They were really good value (and swedish). Only problem is they expire at the end of March. Google reckons it's fine, they don't go "off", but they might lose their potency so I might carry on with the floradix as well to be safe.

wejammin · 14/03/2018 11:52

@Mochibean I hope you've had some peeing success or got some proper treatment

keepinghopeful · 14/03/2018 12:05

Hi all, tentatively joining after 3 losses (2 very early) ... 4 weeks, got strong line on monday. Currently on cyclogest and baby aspirin to see if will help me. Im very wary today as have no sore breasts yet & i think in my longest preg i would have had soreness now so im thinking i could be in for another early loss. I am getting waves of nausea but that could be the cyclogest.

FireworksBaby · 14/03/2018 12:24

I had quite a lot of bleeding yesterday and have been to EPU for a scan today. Definitely still something in there, but measuring 5 weeks, instead of 6, which is not a very hopeful sign.
I have to go back next week to see if there is any growth, so can only wait at this stage.
I've had no sickness and not many other symptoms, so not feeling all that hopeful, however if I genuinely am only 5 weeks then it might just be too early.

BadBadBeans · 14/03/2018 12:31

@keepinghopeful welcome, and fingers crossed for you.

@FireworksBaby oh no - I so hope everything is okay. It's so hard early on because they just can't tell very much. I haven't had nausea yet either, and don't expect to until 6 or 7 weeks which is when it started last time, so I don't think that is necessarily a sign.

CameliaNov · 14/03/2018 12:39

I've just registered with the local midwives - it's very weird having my 12 week scan date already at this very early stage! I wanted to find out which unit I'd be referred to though, as it could have been one of several.

@mochibean That sounds awful, I hope it sorts itself out very soon.

@rose900 I've been on Floradix tablets for a couple of months as I've been prone to anaemia since my first pregnancy, and other multivitamins make me nauseous even when I'm not pregnant!

@keepinghopeful Sorry for your losses, hoping everything goes well for you.

Primrose16 · 14/03/2018 12:40

Afternoon can I join. Very cautiously joining the group as I don’t have a good track history.
Got my BFP (well light line) on Monday. So looking at maybe a late Nov baby. Will retest at weekend. I had a mc in January and 2 losses prior to my daughter who is 15 months.
I have woke up so queasy and still feel so so sick now, really struggling at work. I am thinking that it’s a positive sign but I want to cry at the same time

TheImprobableGirl · 14/03/2018 13:02

Not sure if this is the right place for me.... Got my BFP today - been trying 2 years, literally about to start on clomid next week Grin

went to drs with stomach ache and he took a precautionary test... sure enough BFP! feel unbelievable.

Did a clearblue digital and it says 3+weeks, also have had two periods in 8 months (one in august and one late december) So until I have a scan will i best be in November?

moomoo85 · 14/03/2018 13:21

@TheImprobableGirl welcome. I think November makes sense. In my last group I was at the end of the month and ended up being the last one as he was really late but there were people who had babies over two months earlier than me. So even if you are due in October you should still be around other people who have their babies at the same time.

Congratulations!

MeredithShepherd · 14/03/2018 13:31

Got my fingers crossed for you @FireworksBaby

TheImprobableGirl · 14/03/2018 13:32

Thanks, I think it all depends on the '+' and how much earlier it is!
Chances are I won't get to 40 weeks, both dd's were born 38/39, (one pre eclampsia and one gestational diabetes)

I'm still a bit whelmed...

Rosiebunny · 14/03/2018 13:33

Hi all,

I have just found this thread so I'm late to the party. I think I'm due early November. LMP puts due date 27th October, but I'm pretty sure I ovulated late.

This is #2 for me - DD is 18 months old. Still hasn't sunk in although I've known for nearly 3 weeks already. Just starting to feel queasy so if that carries on then I'm sure it'll start to feel more real!

Sounds like some of you are having a bit of a scary time. Sending you all lots of positive vibes.

Looking forward to sharing this adventure with you all Smile

Magpie24 · 14/03/2018 13:42

Still spotting, anyone else? Doctor not concerned as it's pale brown blood and only when wiping but still worried. Had an early scan and looked fine, another in a couple of weeks. 6 weeks today and was sick this morning 😔

How is everyone feeling?
