This is my 2nd dc. We weren’t trying so unexpected but I’ve had a feeling something was going on for the last week. Tested this morning and got a BFP.

So it’s DC2 (already have a 4 year old DS)
Due date 5/11/18 I think

My feb 2014 group is fab and I’ve made some lovely friends on there so hoping to do the same this time all being well!

@moomoo I’ve had some cramping (like mild period pains) on and off since implantation. Had it early on with my first two as well, so fingers crossed it’s normal for me (I’m guessing everything is stretching and gearing up for all the changes to come). As Nightmanagerfan says though, worth getting checked out if it’s concerning you.

Oh no @Meredith that sounds no fun at all!

sarahhh1984 · 13/03/2018 20:50

Feel so sorry for DH. He just cooked me a lovely tea while I dozed on the sofa. I ate roughly half of it before turning faintly green and declaring that I feel sick. He feels really bad and I don't think he believes me when I'm telling him I could have eaten anything and it would've made me feel ill. Poor love.

BadBadBeans · 13/03/2018 20:53

@Happ7Bunny sorry to hear that. Is it possible you ovulated later than you thought and that a test just isn't showing up as positive yet? I've not experienced having symptoms when not being pregnant. That said, I'm nearly 5 weeks now and I'm barely experiencing any at all. I was the same last time - no real symptoms until gone 6 weeks. I've had a couple of dizzy spells. And today my boobs feel a bit heavier and more... I dont know... tingly... than normal. But if I didn't know I was pregnant, I don't think I would have picked up on it, so it's interesting that your symptoms have been so strong without a postive test. Everybody's different! Fingers crossed you get a positive soon xx

@SakuraSunrise I'm so glad you've had a positive experience with your GP, and that you feel reassured.

@hellotoyellow I hope the spotting goes away without troubling you much more.

@TheStickSong I mentioned upthread that I've been told I have to wait a couple of weeks before I can make my 8 week appointment!. The GP receptionist said wait until you are 6 weeks pregnant and have had a couple of positive tests (and initially she said wait until 8-12 weeks, which I think was just her being confused - can you imagine ringing at 12 weeks and saying, 'Oh, hi, I'm pregnant, can I book in please?' The midwife would have my guts for garters!). Last time I was able to fill in a form to self-refer as soon as I found out I was pregnant. I guess as long as you are confident that you can get an appointment quickly once you do contact them, then that's all good! Ha, fingers crossed for a relaxed baby for you!

@MeredithShepherd I got horribly constipated around 6 weeks in my last pregnancy too. It then got worse when I started taking the full on pregnancy vitamins in my second trimester! I had some terrible stuck on the loo moments at work!!!! Hope things, ahem, ease off for you soon!

Well I have realised tonight that I will have a whole new world of hiding-my-pregnancy to deal with. I live in a semi-shared house situation with a few of my in-laws, and although we have separate living accomodation we do currently share a kitchen and meals, and all take it in turns to cook. In many ways this is rather wonderful, but after my MIL mentioned that she was doing fish and prawns tonight I had to have a sneaky panic Google on my phone to check that I'm allowed to eat prawns while pregnant! (Answer: yes, as long as thoroughly cooked.) There's no way in hell I'm going to make it to 12 weeks without someone clocking that I'm turning down certain foods / alcohol!

Just in case anyone's thinking about pelvic floor exercises already, can recommend the My PFF app. You can set it to give you reminders three times a day and it guides you through different sets of exercises. I was rubbish with pelvic floor exercises last time and, um, suffered for it for quite a while after DD was born. Blush Determined to do them properly this time!

Klake17 · 13/03/2018 21:07

Wow this thread is fairly moving, I seem to have got lost a bit! Could I be added to the fb group if/when made, i’ll Be able to keep up a bit easier then!!

Had my booking in appointment today, it was fine, took about an hour but nothing too complicated Smile back again in a few weeks for bloods & waiting patiently until 12 week scan!

Pumpkin2018 · 13/03/2018 21:16

Glad to hear I'm not the only one having feelings of hunger.

sarahhh1984 thanks for the recommendation about pelvic floor exercises, I was very forgetful last time and still paying for it now, so hoping I can improve this pregnancy

olderthanyouthink · 13/03/2018 21:21

I've got a cold Sad and my boobs hurt, don't know what I'm going to do about the jumping part of ballet class, might have to dig out a sports bra.

Sounds stupid but I wanted to buy some new clothes the other day because the seasons are changing/I need to replace some stuff but now I don't know what's worth it because if all goes well I won't fit in loads of stuff in a few months, I think.

bangwhistle · 13/03/2018 21:23

Wow! This thread is moving so quickly. I can only get on in the evening but it's lovely catching up with everyone's news.

@moomoo85 weird pains here too. Could it be wind? I got myself in a right tizz a couple of weeks ago and it was definitely wind 😉

bangwhistle · 13/03/2018 21:25

Oh and @Pumpkin2018 would you send me a link to the FB group pretty please? Another idiot who can't operate the mumsnet app here!

bangwhistle · 13/03/2018 21:27

@Rose900 I think that's what it is these days. I don't think you're missing anything although it does feel like an age. My booking in is 9 April when I'd be 10 weeks.

GiveMummyTheWhizzer · 13/03/2018 21:35

Can anyone please help me work out how many weeks I actually might be right now? My app (Flo) tells me one thing but all the online calculators say something different Confused

First day of last period was 28th Jan. The one cycle where I was off the pill completely was 31 days. Before that I was on pill which meant 28 day 'forced' bleeding. Last period was really patchy/low flow and short (3 full days maybe). App predicted I would have ovulated around 13th Feb.

This makes my head sore! Blush

Boodlymummy · 13/03/2018 21:56

Hello all,
I'm 4 weeks tomorrow, already have DD1, aged 2.5. Very pleased, but after a short-lived chemical pregnancy last month, am keeping my feet firmly on the ground. I enjoyed Mumsnet during the first trimester last time, as it's lovely sharing somewhere. I hate keeping it secret. Mind you it does feel different this time, have told the people I see often. Mild symptoms since a few days after ovulating - boobs, weeing, nausea, runny nose, so I knew really but tried not to get too excited.
Bye for now, daughter calling.
Congratulations!

Teaisnecessary · 13/03/2018 22:29

@SakuraSunrise Feeling it here too! Almost overnight DS2 feels so much heavier! From memory, the first trimester was actually the hardest bit in a lot of ways. For the early stages I made lots of use of my baby/toddler carrier (I ran it by my midwife first and stopped as soon as there was any chance of the top of my uterus being squashed by the waist strap). I felt fitter in my second trimester & it became easier again. Then as I got bigger, I found the most comfortable way to carry DS1 was to one side of my bump, over my hip. Ultimately I did try to reduce it over time though as I figured I would be forced to once I had a newborn too!

Foreverretro · 14/03/2018 00:08

@sarahhh1984 thanks for the tip re pelvic floor, I'm sure there's loads I'll miss with it being my first & it's stuff like that I'd never have thought of!

Fidgety31 · 14/03/2018 00:09

GiveMummyTheWhizzer I have noticed the Flo app gives a week ahead than other apps, so I’ve stopped using it.
I am 5 weeks and four days but Flo says I am six weeks !! I have started using Ovia instead

LastNightsMakeUp · 14/03/2018 05:13

@givemummythewhizzer regardless of when you ovulated the midwives will go by the date of your LMP. Then change your edd if it’s out by more than a few days (in my experience). I know I ovulate late so I’m probably 6 days behind what the predictors day.
So you’re 6 weeks pregnant due on 4th November.

On another note.... anyone else having 1st trimester insomnia? I’ve been up at 04:30 for the past week 😫, I also had it with dd but it’s so much harder having a toddler running round all day!

minime2017 · 14/03/2018 05:31

Morning everyone. Up and awake AGAIN at 5am. Ive taken my last FRER so i guess this is really happening- yay!. Been googing whats ahead as a 40 soon to be 41 year old mum to be...well that was just depressing.

MochiBean · 14/03/2018 05:45

So, I haven't been able to urinate since about 7pm last night... antibiotics don't seem be to doing the trick. I think this baby might be getting too big for its boots already and squashing my bladder.

I think I'm going to have to head to A&E but I'm scared... has anyone else had this problem before?

MeredithShepherd · 14/03/2018 05:48

Yep I’m awake early as well. I have been falling asleep at 9pm though so that’s probably why!

OP posts:
LastNightsMakeUp · 14/03/2018 06:28

@mochibean might sound like a ridiculous question but have you been drinking plenty? I’d definitely head to a&e or call nhs 111 now and you can get an early gp appointment or direct referral to hospital.

@minime2017 @MeridithShepherd same, I think the latest I’ve managed is 21:30, so frustrating waking up so early. Silver lining... I get a hot cup of tea and to catch up on last nights tv before dd or dp wake up 💪

MochiBean · 14/03/2018 06:35

@LastNightsMakeUp I have... and currently drinking more even though I don't think it has anywhere to go...I'm so thirsty all of the time.

I'm not sure if A&E or EPU would be better... I'll call my GP but they're rubbish at actually seeing people and normally just send us elsewhere

MeredithShepherd · 14/03/2018 06:42

@MochiBean I’d ring 111 too. Hope you get seen quickly xx

OP posts:
LastNightsMakeUp · 14/03/2018 06:46

@mochibean Poor you. Yes, give 111 a call now before shift changes etc and hopefully you’ll get seen ASAP. Hope you get sorted quickly.

GiveMummyTheWhizzer · 14/03/2018 07:06

Thanks @LastNightsMakeUp and @Fidgety31

sarahhh1984 · 14/03/2018 07:21

@MochiBean, just to echo everyone else's advice, I'd call 111 ASAP and get their advice. If you haven't urinated in 12 hours you really need to be seen urgently. Imagine they'll get you an early GP appointment or refer you to A&E. From there they'll probably decide if you need to see the EPU. Good luck! Let us know how you get on.
