This is my 2nd dc. We weren’t trying so unexpected but I’ve had a feeling something was going on for the last week. Tested this morning and got a BFP.

So it’s DC2 (already have a 4 year old DS)
Due date 5/11/18 I think

My feb 2014 group is fab and I’ve made some lovely friends on there so hoping to do the same this time all being well!

@Pumpkin2018 I think a facebook group for this thread is a good idea. My mn group for my first pregnancy migrated to facebook and they have been so invaluable a support to me.

@hellotoyellow
I found the baby on board badge a life saver last time too - will have to dig mine out! It did always strike me though that the time I almost needed it the most (during the first trimester) was when I felt I couldn't risk wearing it! I'm suffering with nausea too. The only thing that seems to help at the mo is to keep eating - not ideal!

Teaisnecessary · 13/03/2018 17:23

I tried to make my booking in appointment at my GP surgery earlier, but the next available appointment was a month away! I've tried the hospital's self referral form instead, so fingers crossed I hear something soon. It definitely all felt much more real once I'd taken that first step last time.

MrsMermaid · 13/03/2018 17:31

@Pumpkin2018 I don't know how to pm you but I would love to join the thread group!

Pumpkin2018 · 13/03/2018 17:57

Hopefully I've send a link or replied to all who has asked to join the fb group so far. Sorry if I've missed anybody out, can you reply with your email again.

MeredithShepherd · 13/03/2018 18:19

Me please pumpkin! My other mn fb group has about 50 members. That’s a lovely amount. We’ve all met in real life and I can’t cope with being part of a massive huns group. No idea why the need to create a joint one! Random!

I'm thinking of leaving booking in with the midwife for a couple of weeks. I seem to remember that they don't see you until about 8 weeks around these parts anyway.

Things seem to be pretty similar to last time. My initial hints were boobs that felt like they were going to explode when I was on the treadmill and huge mood-swings and tears. Then on Mother's Day I was going for a wee every forty-five minutes.

I have a faint nausea and a definite preference for eating carbs over fruit and veg but I can't decide if these are just psychosomatic as they have literally arrived the day after I tested.

I have to say that being in the position of having given up (and having done it before) appears to have made me very relaxed about the whole thing. Maybe that will translate into a very relaxed baby? You never know.

LastNightsMakeUp · 13/03/2018 19:05

I took the plunge and arranged my booking in appointment. She only visits out gp one day a week so I thought I’d get in there early so have one booked for 3 weeks time when I’ll be just past 8 weeks. Starting to feel more real!

I haven’t had any nausea today, I remember having good days for ms in my last pregnancy and then worrying that something was wrong! The only time you’ll both hate being sick and then worry when you’re not being sick!

Pumpkin2018 · 13/03/2018 19:13

Does anybody else all of sudden become very hungry, like a switch is turning on. I remember it happening last time but just not this early. I'm going to be the size of a elephant by November at this rate.

TG83 · 13/03/2018 19:15

Hi, I found out last Friday that I'm expecting my 2 DC around 20th November. I had two early miscarriages last year (April & July) so very nervous and trying not to tell anyone so I need to somewhere to share.

The first pregnancy last year I would have been due early November 2017! I was referred after the 2nd miscarriage and I was told that I could have progesterone prescribed if I wanted it but now they seem very reluctant as I haven't had 3 miscarriages.

Anyway keeping my fingers crossed for this pregnancy, feeling very tired and pregnant, booked in for an early reassurance scan on 5th April.

sarahhh1984 · 13/03/2018 19:19

@MiniMinions Sorry! Only just seen your question from earlier. Yes they did ask me to bring a urine sample, but it was a bit odd. I got a sterile container from my GP and took a sample with me that I'd, erm, prepared just before the appointment. But when I got there the mw refused to take that one, said they needed a "clean" sample and got me to do another. Can only assume they've had samples rejected for being inconclusive so want to make sure they have a, well, fresh one, if you will! 😂 Might be an idea to take one just in case. You can always flush it away if they need another.

SakuraSunrise · 13/03/2018 19:54

Tiredness has really set in the last couple of days for me, DS suddenly feels so heavy to lift and my body feels like it's ran a marathon, my hips and back especially are really aching. Really don't know what I'm going to re lifting DS further down the line! Any one pregnant with #3 who has any tips re carrying toddlers when they were pregnant with #2?

hellotoyellow · 13/03/2018 19:54

@teaisnecessary I'm so glad I'm not the only one!!

@pumpkin2018 my problem is the other way - trying to catch the hunger when it comes!

SakuraSunrise · 13/03/2018 19:58

@Pumpkin2018 I've also gone the opposite way, after a few weeks of being ravenous I'm now feeling quite queasy and have lost my appetite, finding it really hard to meal plan as I have no desire for food!

Nightmanagerfan · 13/03/2018 20:03

@sarahhh1984 thanks for the advice re birth stories! I think I’ll be ok - I’m not generally an anxious person but who knows how I’ll feel in a few months’ time.

I’m also hungrier than normal - I seem to need carbs, fruit and meat. I’ve gone completely off tea, coffee and chocolate. Pregnancy is very odd!

Thanks also for the smaller Facebook group. I only joined the other one for half an hour and it gave me a headache.

Nightmanagerfan · 13/03/2018 20:06

@TG83 thinking of you and hoping this time works out for you. Many others have been exhausted too - me included.

You’ll get some good support on this thread, welcome!

Teaisnecessary · 13/03/2018 20:09

@Pumpkin I’m the same, particularly in the morning or evening. I feel really sick with it too. I’ve taken to keeping little packs of oatcakes and the like with me for when it strikes in the hope that if I’m going to be munching at least it’s vaguely healthy! It’s earlier for me this time too. I’m just waiting for the aversion to anything green hitting...

moomoo85 · 13/03/2018 20:13

Anyone else getting the odd pains. This evening I have had an ache in my right hand side. Not severe just a bit uncomfortable. No other symptoms

Potkettleblack2 · 13/03/2018 20:14

I can't stop eating either. Crisps crisps and crisps! I need to stop! I'm shattered too, and the past two weeks at work have been crazy busy, so I'm not getting a chance to rest. But it has made the past week (since I got my BFP) fly by!

Nightmanagerfan · 13/03/2018 20:16

@moomoo85 yes I’ve had lots of pains - some when I get up too fast, others like period cramps and today a strange on/off pain on my left abdomen. Not sure if this is everyone’s experience though. Best to get checked out if you’re worried.

Rose900 · 13/03/2018 20:22

I’m due in November too! So excited, still can’t believe it! Smile
Is it the first ever appointment at 8/10 weeks for you too? It looks like longest time, I am anxious I am missing something Confused

MeredithShepherd · 13/03/2018 20:24

I’m so constipated! I’m going to the pharmacy tomorrow to ask them to give me something. I ended up with piles (tmi) in my last pregnancy and had to have them banded after DS was born. I’m refusing to let the same thing happen again!

ImagineAllThePeople1 · 13/03/2018 20:39

@Pumpkin2018 I'm exactly the same, no matter how much I eat I still get hangry!

GiveMummyTheWhizzer · 13/03/2018 20:46

@Pumpkin2018 I can't PM you - could you message me? Smile

TG83 · 13/03/2018 20:47

@Nightmanagerfan thanks for the support. I've also been having lower backache and period type cramps but I'm pretty sure that is all normal
