This is my 2nd dc. We weren’t trying so unexpected but I’ve had a feeling something was going on for the last week. Tested this morning and got a BFP.

So it’s DC2 (already have a 4 year old DS)
Due date 5/11/18 I think

My feb 2014 group is fab and I’ve made some lovely friends on there so hoping to do the same this time all being well!

Hi Pumpkin2018!

SakuraSunrise · 08/03/2018 16:36

I just wanted to say I'm really glad to have this group for support, I wasn't on MN when I was pg with DS and so this time around it's been great to have an outlet as early pregnancy is such a worrying time.

I've just had my blood taken and am booked again for next week to have a second sample for comparison. The nurse said it would take up to a week to get the results so I won't have the first results till 6+2 or the second results till 7+2, so I'm not sure why they didn't just send me for a 7 week scan, which is what they did when I had spotting with DS?!

hellotoyellow · 08/03/2018 17:48

Congrats @moomoo85 and all the other new joiners! @moomoo we have a similar EDD - mine is about the 14.

@Nightmanagerfan, i am absolutely exhausted and basically dragging myself through the day. Glad it's not just me!

whiningandwining · 08/03/2018 18:11

Congratulations to everyone who's joined!

@MeredithShepherd I had that in my first pregnancy, a little pink blood when wiping. I went to doctors as was also cramping & was referred to EPU for a scan. All was fine, and apparently very common at 6 weeks. My son is now 3.

NeitherNowtNorSummat01 · 08/03/2018 18:46

Can I join too please. Due November 18th with baby number 3. I have a 1 and a 3 year old already

Oct18mummy · 08/03/2018 19:37

Hope everyone is doing well! I’ve just watched one born every minute and sobbed my heart out. Please tell me I’m not alone being a blubbering mess at the moment 😢

sarahhh1984 · 08/03/2018 20:07

@Oct18mummy I got emotional over an episode of Hey Duggee on CBeebies earlier so you're definitely not alone! 😂

whiningandwining · 08/03/2018 20:10

One born always gets me, pregnant or not!

Oct18mummy · 08/03/2018 20:12

@sarahhh1984 ha! That’s good to know 😀

MrsHulme · 08/03/2018 21:00

I had to stop watching one born as I was blubbering years before I got the bfp! Call the midwife gets me.....but also The Secret Life Of Kittens got me earlier!!!

MochiBean · 08/03/2018 21:08

@MrsHulme there is a program called the secret life of kittens?! How have I missed that?!

MiniMinions · 08/03/2018 21:37

Oh I'm a blubbering mess over most things haha do you know what I hadn't watched one born until final trimester last time and I'm glad I did as I didn't know that they are purple when they come out haha

sarahhh1984 · 08/03/2018 22:14

I can't find the posts now, but a couple of you were saying how your IBS symptoms have disappeared since getting pregnant? I had really bad IBS but my pregnancy with DD cured it. I didn't have a single flare up while I was pregnant and it's not reappeared since she was born. And the trigger for my IBS was stress, so you'd think having a young baby might cause it to flare up! 😂

Oct18mummy · 08/03/2018 22:22

@MrsHulme secret life of kittens I don’t blame you that would get me too!

Magpie24 · 09/03/2018 05:25

@sarahhh1984 i was one of the posters on IBS, that's such amazing news that have your DD cured it. Fingers crossed for the same outcome! 5+2 and haven't had any IBS symptoms for a couple of weeks now!

FannyHertz · 09/03/2018 05:32

Hi, can I join?

Got my bfp on Monday. Had a blood test yesterday to check hcg and try to gauge how far along I am, as I was on the pill, but going by last bleed (3 days of spotting and one day medium bleeding) EDD is 11/11.

I have an 8 month old ds and 2 teenagers already.

sarahhh1984 · 09/03/2018 06:17

@Magpie24 Will keep fingers crossed for you. Assuming maybe the pregnancy "kickstarted" or "reset" something in my system but, yeah, no IBS symptoms now since August 2016 when I found out I was pregnant with DD. Just chronic indigestion in the third trimester! 😂

RogueAnnJosh · 09/03/2018 06:52

Woke in the night feeling sick, and feeling nauseous this morning 😫
I’m only 4+2!
I get terrible sickness last time, from about 6 weeks to 16 weeks.
Anyone else suffering?

MrsHulme · 09/03/2018 07:02

@RogueAnnJosh I did last night. Woke up from falling asleep on the sofa, needed to do teeth etc before getting into bed and felt so dizzy/nauseous that all I could do was throw some toothpaste in my mouth and lie down!!!! Hope that isn't the start of it as I'm at a festival all day in London today and don't want to feel shite....I'm about 6+4

SkyLucy · 09/03/2018 10:42

Aghhhh hello!! Can I join? Found out this morning I’m preggers, bit of a shock, DD is only a year old! Not really sure when I’m due (I’ve only had one tiny, weird period since DD’s arrival), but some stab-in-the-dark maths suggests an early November arrival, eek!!

My February 2017 MN group was (and still is) fabulous, so I’m excited to join this group. I’ll read through the other posts soon but in the meantime, any other surprise babies in the group? Two under twos? Any mamas still breastfeeding?!

toasterstrudle · 09/03/2018 10:49

@FannyHertz congratulations! How are you feeling about the short age gap between your youngest two? My DS is 7.5 months old and I'm now 6+1 (EDD Nov 1st) so I'll have a 15 month age gap - fingers crossed there's not two in here!

Started to feel dizzy and sick on and off too, I was really sick with DS from 8 - 16 weeks so hoping to avoid a repeat of that!

toasterstrudle · 09/03/2018 10:50

Congratulations @SkyLucy! We'll be a two under two situation as well - will need to get converter kit for my buggy to make it a double!

sarahhh1984 · 09/03/2018 10:58

Congratulations @SkyLucy! Not a surprise, but we'll be two under two as well. DD is currently 10 months and, if baby arrives on time then she will be just under 19 months. Or, if baby arrives a week early like she did then she'll be about 18.5 months.

We currently only have a single pram but hopefully we'll sell it and getting a Phil & Ted's Dot as that can convert back to a single once DC1 no longer needs it. We weren't planning a small age gap originally, we changed our minds! Otherwise we'd probably have gone for the Dot with DD! Luckily, we worked out we don't have to buy much else so shouldn't be too expensive, fingers crossed!

FannyHertz · 09/03/2018 10:59

@toasterstrudel not as apprehensive as the first time around - my older 2 are 16 months apart as well so it’s all old hat to me 😂

Nightmanagerfan · 09/03/2018 11:03

Congrats & welcome to the new joiners. Quick question for those of you who've been pregnant before - what did you do about bras during pregnancy? All my normal underwired bras are now really uncomfortable and leaving marks as they're too tight. Would it be best to buy non-wired comfy bras now, or just get the nursing ones so they can be reused? Or is that a silly idea as boobs likely to increase in size more later? I popped into John Lewis but couldn't bring myself to spend £36 on a pack of two very unsexy bras!
