This is my 2nd dc. We weren’t trying so unexpected but I’ve had a feeling something was going on for the last week. Tested this morning and got a BFP.

So it’s DC2 (already have a 4 year old DS)
Due date 5/11/18 I think

My feb 2014 group is fab and I’ve made some lovely friends on there so hoping to do the same this time all being well!

Congratulations all! Exciting times!

I self-referred today (phone system in Edinburgh) and have booking app for when I'm around 9 weeks, scan at 12 weeks. All seeming very real now! Meds wise I've just been taking folic acid, will look into vit D. I'm snacking far too much too, need to go to the gym tonight I think! My jeans are also tight already but don't think I can blame the baby just yet Wink

MeredithShepherd · 06/03/2018 19:02

I’ve been taking pregnacare since last weekend purely because that’s what I took last time with DS. My work trousers are already so tight I’ve had to have the button undone most of the afternoon!

NovDoe · 06/03/2018 19:36

@MeredithShepherd I had my button undone for most of yesterday, only doing it up for a meeting and then undoing it again.

I've actually kept a food diary the last couple of days because my clothes are tight and I wanted to see if I'd just been stuffing myself with food. Which I don't think I have, And I don't feel bloated. And I've still been doing exercise. Who knows!

MeredithShepherd · 06/03/2018 19:46

I’m doing slimming world. I’ve lost 2 stone in about 8 months so I know I haven’t put loads of weight on. It must be bloating. Either that or there’s more than one in there Confused

I bought some pregnacare vitamins on Saturday and have also had to undo my button already! Blush

We told my Dsis on Sunday and she was absolutely over the moon, she's promised to keep it to herself for now. We're going to tell the rest of our immediate family this weekend and then no one else until the 12 week scan.

The last couple of evenings I've felt quite achey around the tops of my thighs / hips, I'm slightly concerned as I had quite bad SPD with DS which started out just like that, but set in around 20 weeks, so really hoping it's not a sign that it's going to be worse this time! Has anyone else had SPD and got any tips to limit it?Confused

wafflesandpeas · 06/03/2018 20:09

I had to drive home from work with my jeans undone! Can't possibly need my good old comfy maternity jeans from the attic yet can I?

GiveMummyTheWhizzer · 06/03/2018 20:12

I've got some fandangled pregnacare things that come with an extra omega 3 type tablet. Which is important to us as DS has really poor eyesight and it's supposed to be good for promoting the proper development of eyes and stuff.

SlowTango · 06/03/2018 20:15

Can I join in? First time for us and I am fluctuating between excitement and nerves. Got the BFP last week and NHS app says 5 weeks. I’m still getting my head round it. I don’t feel noticeably different, maybe a bit bloated and definitely have more spots than normal but I’m possibly reading too much into these “symptoms” Stil feels as though it isn’t real. Have my first appointment with midwife next week, maybe that will make it sink in!

RogueAnnJosh · 06/03/2018 20:38

Ill tentatively join! NHS app says 14th November due date. About 4 weeks, so nervous! Rushing to the loo with every twinge.
2nd pregnancy for me - had preeclampsia with DD2 so hoping to avoid that this time!

Fidgety31 · 06/03/2018 21:05

I’ve had seasickness type feelings for a week and dizziness, loss of appetite and sore boobs/nipples.
In my previous heee pregnancies I had no issues and no sickness so I’m thinking because I’m older maybe that’s why I’m suffering more and I’m only 4 weeks 😂

Fidgety31 · 06/03/2018 21:06

Previous three that should say !

MiniMinions · 06/03/2018 21:48

Welcome to all the new BFPers!!

@SurfingGiantess - lots of us have said about cramps/abdominal pains that we didn’t remember this earlier on before so I’m taking it as normal haha

Re vitamins etc I’ve been taking the seven seas trying for a baby one since came off pill (like I did last time) and will then when finished those get the pregnancy ones

I had some fancy daggers at work earlier and don’t remember getting them until later on last time. Also feel bigger but clothes still ok so far. I was doing WW but have cancelled that (will put the money I would have spent on subscription in separate account for maternity leave/when need to rejoin after Christmas next year!!)

bangwhistle · 06/03/2018 22:00

Congratulations to all the new BFPs!

Fancy daggers! 😂. Fanny daggers here to. Jeans outdone all the time and forgot they were still undone when I answered the door to my builders earlier today 🤦‍♀️ glad it's not just me.

Dreading to see what this 3rd pregnancy will do to my body. The MS is already worse than before. I'm coming up to 6 weeks now, I think.

MySerenity · 07/03/2018 02:22

NHS advice is to take folic acid and vitamin D in pregnancy.

I am just taking a cheap supermarket brand multivitamin for pregnancy. All the pregnancy vitamin tablet brands do pretty much the same thing, regardless of pricey packaging, I think! (As long as they contain the vit D and folate and don't have vit A in!)

I don't think I look any different yet. Weirdly I'm kinda looking forward to having a bump!

wejammin · 07/03/2018 07:03

I had to dash to Primark last week for some emergency loose clothes for work. I can't justify maternity clothes yet but all my work clothes are very fitted and DH said my "bump" (bloat) was really really obvious.

MeredithShepherd · 07/03/2018 07:16

I’ve just put my old maternity trousers on. Think they are going to annoy me all day as they are too big yet but I’m willing to try them if it means my circulation will not be cut off at the waist today!

Vitamins wise I'm still taking my Seven Seas Trying For a Baby that I was taking when I was ttc. They have the right amount of folic acid in them and I might as well use up the pack. Hoping they'll last me until Monday when I have my booking appointment as last time the mw gave me a supply of NHS pregnancy vitamins that lasted the whole pregnancy. Thing they were folic acid, vitamin C and vitamin D if I remember rightly. Hoping that's still the policy here.

Rideforthehills · 07/03/2018 08:34

It might sound strange but I actively wish I had stronger symptoms. I've had the sore inflated boobs, although that seems to have eased off and some fizzing/popping/cramping but not much. Other than the two very clear positive tests I don't have much to show for it. It makes me think I might be imagining it all. I am 4+6 so still early days, I was totally chilled about it until this morning but now wondering how I'm going to get through to my first appointment. I want more clear evidence! How else do you know something is really happening down there?

WazFlimFlam · 07/03/2018 08:40

RougeAnnJosh I'm due on 15 so 4 weeks exactly today. Scary to know so early. I am convinced my period is going to turn up and keep on symptom spotting and checking my boobs are still sore.

sarahhh1984 · 07/03/2018 08:49

Ugh, nausea has just kicked in at exactly five weeks. I've got a ginger tea cube and a slice of lemon infusing in some boiling water in front of me as we speak. Ah well, at least it's a positive sign before I have to re-test and sort my early scan tomorrow. 🤢

@Rideforthehills I can't offer much respite but I can tell you I feel exactly the same way. Had a lot of nausea and sore boobs to start off with. Both seemed to have eased off but now plagued with the most tender nips! Other than this, nothing to show for it. Praying my disappearing symptoms aren't a sign of anything too sinister.

Congrats and best of luck to you Thanks

MochiBean · 07/03/2018 09:25

I need positive vibes. My GP cancelled my initial appointment so I ended up speaking to a different doctor on the phone. He did very little to quell my fears about miscarriage, and instead just kept telling me how early I was and how so many pregnancies end early.

I understand the statistics, but now I'm feeling more worried than ever 😔

toasterstrudle · 07/03/2018 09:29

@MochiBean just try and focus on the fact that most pregnancies are successful! If 25% don't succeed then that means 75% do. Statistics are in your favour!

Pregnancy is a worrying time, it's easy for me to say try and focus on something else but I worried a fair amount of my first and just to reach full term. But this time I'm going to try (!) and relax more and focus on what will be will be, whilst following all the guidelines for a healthy pregnancy. It's a long ten months!
