Thanks @UppityStitch I'm 19 weeks tomorrow. Slowly slowly inching my way to the safety of 24 weeks (it's my current target).

LostMyBaubles · 09/04/2018 17:19

Ms have no idea other than thick, padded bras?

Uppity thank you. I see local mw this week and scan next week

My youngest has been coming upto bump to talk and 'tickle' can feel baby move as youngest does this. Feels very nice

LostMyBaubles · 09/04/2018 17:21

Kirin some hosps help before that (fx we all go full term) the earliest ive heard about is around 22 weeks i think it was
Gestation and weight i think it was based on.
Baby over 1lb they try to help (from what ive read online)

kirinm · 09/04/2018 18:43

Yeah I have been doing some googling. Obviously I really don't want to be having the baby early but it'll be vaguely reassuring to be in that time where they can do something.

LostMyBaubles · 09/04/2018 20:41

I picked my 24 weeker nephew up a few days ago, expecting him to be light (hes 4) and wow he waa actually heavy! I struggled a little!
His mum went into labout 23+5 and he weighed a little over 1lb

It is a little reassuring that they will help
Fx we all get to term. Would be interesting to see a link between the mirena coil and prem labour as thats what we think caused hers. Her other kids were 37-38 weeks

dingdongdigeridoo · 09/04/2018 22:08

Speaking of the coil, is anyone planning to have one after birth? I’m definitely done with pregnancy after this one, and hate all hormonal contraception, so it seems like the best choice. Although sleepless nights with a newborn are guaranteed to kill any libido.

Although I’ve been dropping hints to DH that he might want to get the snip...

ShutTheFridgeUp · 10/04/2018 10:08

I point blank refuse to have any kind of hormonal contraception now, so options after this one are condoms or the snip. I think he's edging towards snip, which I wholeheartedly agree with!

LostMyBaubles · 10/04/2018 10:08

Dh is against the snip. I dunno why.

I will prob go with another coil but will see

UppityStitch · 10/04/2018 13:28

I'm banned from all forms of hormonal contraception due to my health. I've also got strong family history of high blood pressure and strokes. I had the copper coil after DS and will get it again if DH backs out of having the snip.

dingdongdigeridoo · 10/04/2018 15:55

I can think why he’s against it, Lost! Grin Probably being a wuss about it like my DH. I’m sure it’s bloody uncomfortable for a few days, but nothing compared to being a woman and dealing with years of periods, pregnancy, childbirth and vaginal stitches. Owch.

Bearsonstairs · 11/04/2018 15:59

Hi ladies, thought I’d just check in as had my anomaly scan today. Amazing being able to see all the detail of the organs and skeleton etc.

We also found out we’re having a little boy, so team blue for me!

I will need to have another scan later on as the placenta is lying very low and will need to move up, but will worry about that bridge when we have to cross it. Just so relieved to hear all is okay.

Presume lots of other ladies have theirs over the next couple of weeks too - fingers crossed for good news all round.

Fia256 · 11/04/2018 16:08

Congrats on it being a blue on @Bearsonstairs 💙

I had my anomaly scan yesterday and all was well! Was super nervous before hand but he was a real wriggler and everything looked as it should! Feel like I can relax a little bit more now, plus feeling and seeing movement all the time now!

UppityStitch · 11/04/2018 17:02

Congrats on Team Blue @Bearsonstairs

Is anyone else not finding out the sex? I don't want to but DH does.

Just had my 16 week appointment. Should have been at 2.30. Didn't see the midwife until 3.15, then I had to wait until 3.50 to see the consultant. Didn't get out until 4.30. They normally run late but this was another level Shock. On the plus side I'm being transferred back to my old consultant I had with DS who I'm more comfortable with.

Sals27 · 11/04/2018 17:32

Congrats on a little boy bear

Uppity We're not, team yellow for us! When we first found out we were so sure we'd have to find out the sex but as times gone on we just love the idea of a surprise. Its so fun having everyone guess aswell.

LostMyBaubles · 11/04/2018 17:34

Congrats bear!

Fia thats really nice when you can feel and see!

Uppity that takes the piss but sounds like the clinic I go to. Hubby will be with me at the next appt and hes very impatient lol hes gonna hate sitting there
Its going to be quite long as its anomoly scan, renal scan and renal clinic maybe bloods too.

Hows 2nd trimester treating everyone?

UppityStitch · 11/04/2018 19:23

@Fia256 Congrats on your scan. Missed your update earlier

@LostMyBaubles Hopefully it won't be so bad next time as I won't be under that clinic anymore. My DH was not impressed at all as he left his office short staffed. I told him he could go and I'll get the bus back but he stayed and tapped his foot impatiently

coastalchick · 12/04/2018 08:50

Congrats bear! I’m team blue too! Found out at 12 weeks from Iona Test. 17+3 now and time going VERY slowly for 20 week scan! Just want it to hurry up!

Signed off this week with bad cold which is making me cough buckets and has brought back my asthma (20 years later!) so on a bloody inhaler!

So grateful to be pregnant (esp after MMC at 10 weeks last year) but just feel like been constantly ill! Had bad morning sickness until 15.5 weeks, then terrible sciatica for a week and now this! Would be quite nice to feel like myself for a while!

LostMyBaubles · 12/04/2018 09:08

Coastal it takes the piss doesn't it. The constant illness!
Don't think ive had more than a few days where nothing was wrong

But all worth it in the end 😁

Scan next week super excited

coastalchick · 12/04/2018 09:14

@lost - totally!!!! And feel like I can’t moan as grateful to be pregnant!!! (But I’ll moan a little anyway)

Is that your 20 week scan?

LostMyBaubles · 12/04/2018 09:24

Im forever moaning in my head lol

Yup 20 week scan is next thurs alongside renal scan

coastalchick · 12/04/2018 10:02

@lost - good luck and I’m v jealous! Wishing time away to get to my scan!

LLO7 · 12/04/2018 10:19

Hello, new to the thread 😁 I am pregnant with #2, have a private gender scan on Sunday! My due date is 29/09/18

blondie1001 · 12/04/2018 11:23

Congratulations @Bearsonstairs. I have a low placenta too - I had one last time too and by 36 weeks it had lifted so I'm sure this will happen for you!

OP posts:
Sals27 · 12/04/2018 13:51

Welcome LLO.

Is anyone else still not feeling baby move? I'm 17+4 and starting to look pregnant with a mini bump. Its everyone's default question "can you feel it yet" then when I say no they always sound surprised so I feel like I'm doing something wrong. I know its normal as its my first but its so frustrating, driving me mad!!

MrsCaecilius · 12/04/2018 15:01

I can either, but I'm 16+5 with my first and with an anterior placenta so gave just resigned myself to not feeling anything for ages!
