@Roeslein who's going to lead the project during maternity leave?

Flybynight1 · 22/02/2018 20:02

Roeslein I told my Boss at 16 weeks and rest of colleagues from 17 weeks. I was already in maternity trousers but just wore loser tops and tunic type things. Most seemed surprised I was so far gone but I'm also tallish at 5ft8. Even if work suspect they can't do or say anything to you (officially although I am fully aware of the excuses managers come up with when there's a whiff of a pregnancy).

kirinm · 22/02/2018 20:09

I'm not showing yet (12w2) I don't think. I've no idea when I will, it seems to be different for everyone. I would go for it and try and avoid telling Work. I don't intend on telling Work until it's getting obvious (I'm hoping after Easter).

kirinm · 22/02/2018 20:14

Great scan pic shook!

Fia256 · 22/02/2018 20:37

Ahh congrats to all the scans it's all so exciting!

Is anyone else finding it difficult to get comfy at night? Obviously I know this is nothing in comparison to when we are all huge in the summer lol, but I just really cannot get comfy at all! I have to use all the extra pillows to put under my leg and to hug onto! Going to buy a pregnancy pillow on Tuesday, I just feel like I darent jinx myself now so close to the scan. Silly I know

CuppaSarah · 22/02/2018 20:51

Congratulations on all the lovely scans!

Mona glad the gp was good, but hope you're feeling beter before the test results are in.

This came up I another thread, since I know I'm not the only one worried they've somehow made the whole thing up I thought it might make you guys smile a bit too.

@CuppaSarah Grin Poo bumps!

I keep thinking I'm feeling movements but it's probably gas. It's only every now and then (rarely). I can't wait for big definite movements in a month or so!

Weareboatsremember · 22/02/2018 22:14

Hi all, can I be added to the list too please? I’m a lurker as I’m very anxious about this pregnancy (2 previous losses, including one mmc which was picked up at scan and I’d had no idea anything was awry).
So, I’m 32, already have a dd aged 4, will be 5 when baby arrives, Edd 26/09.
Loving seeing the scan pictures!

jubbablub · 23/02/2018 05:31

@cuppasarah I swear that article could be me. My all bran and an orange for breakfast is keeping me right!!!

I’ve caved and bought maternity jeans. My normal ones in the size up just didn’t fit and I think my stomach is probably just bloating, but it was such a great decision. Feeling so much more comfortable!!!

@kirinm 147 is a great heartbeat. Really keeping everything crossed for you.

Justoneme · 23/02/2018 05:49

Hey can you please add me. 38 EDD 20.09

ShutTheFridgeUp · 23/02/2018 07:02

@jubbablub I caved 2 weeks ago and got maternity jeans! I got mine from eBay as a lot of high street shops don't stock size 6, plus I'm too tight to pay full price for something I'm only going to wear for a few months. Although the way I'm eating at the moment I have a feeling I'll fit into my old maternity stuff soon!

TheBlindspot · 23/02/2018 07:29

Checking in 👋🏻

blondie1001 · 23/02/2018 08:54

@CuppsSarah that poo bump is hilarious! Grin

Unexpected return of sickness and nausea this morning. It's amazing how quickly my mood can deteriorate with nausea. I'm so glad it's Friday!

Namechangedtoscream · 23/02/2018 09:39

DH to me this morning without prompting: "yeah you're not fat that's all baby. Good luck." Thanks darling

LostMyBaubles · 23/02/2018 10:53

Namechange thankfully dh doesnt comment on how big ive got as he knows our babies are baby elephants lol

Im in my 'fat clothes' atm and by evening im itching to get out of clothes altogether as i feel so uncomfortable

Fia im also like that at night. I sleep with 2 fans on (1 at bottom for the both of us and 1 near my face lol) that helps me a little and ive found moving pillow to an angle helps me a little.

Was driving yesterday and felt baby kinda like tap from inside. Was lovely

12+1 can I say im out of 1st trimester yet???

Namechangedtoscream · 23/02/2018 10:54

Lucky you! This is his first though so he's finding it all amusing

dingdongdigeridoo · 23/02/2018 11:16

I feel massive at the moment. With DS I had a nice neat bump. This time I feel like I have a big flabby stomach, fat face, fat hands and fat everything. At least I can tell people now so they know it’s not all Xmas overindulgence.

Namechangedtoscream · 23/02/2018 11:33

Just how bad is pate in pregnancy? I'm craving it something rotten on some crusty french stick right now.

blondie1001 · 23/02/2018 11:42

@dingdongdigeridoo - same here - with DS everyone used to comment on my nice neat bump - this time I just feel huge and flabby and my stomach muscles have given up already!

I've told my manager and my direct reports at work. Everyone else I'm thinking I might just leave it and see how long it takes someone to mention it. Everyone is very polite here but I've definitely seen a few sideways glances at my gut!

@CuppaSarah Just had my first midwife appointment at Brambles. She said I couldn't have my bloods done today because I want to give birth at Frimley. Also I have to book my 12 week scan when I go there for my bloods. Was this the same for you?

I told the midwife about my 8 week scan showing baby as over a week behind. She wasn't concerned and tried to reassure me. I'm just still unsure - no symptoms any more really, just really tired in the evenings and not fancying any food.

My urine sample looked like I had just filled the pot with tap water 🙈😂 She told me to drink more to help with my migraines but I think it's quite clear I drink lots!!

Namechangedtoscream · 23/02/2018 12:32

Redrobin I find drinking too much causes migraines as it upsets the salts balance. Drink an electrolyte drink or sachet and then try and drink just enough but not huge amounts. The myth good hydration fixes migraine winds me up.

RedRobin7 · 23/02/2018 12:38

@Namechangedtoscream That's interesting, I never considered that too much could cause them! I'm just pretty unlucky with the amount of triggers I have.

Sals27 · 23/02/2018 12:52

I don't have any sort of bump but my waist is definitely thicker. I just feel chubby Sad

Namechanged me too! I have been thinking about duck pate for weeks. I'm off to France in a month and I will be sampling the delicious pate Grin
