I want a creme egg too

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 07/05/2007 20:47

Bit about me - as everyone else has?!

I'm 32, DH 32.
No kids - just this one in the oven till 20th June (ish)
HATE being pg
Would rather chew my own leg off than EVER be pg again.
Pg = unplanned - due to VERY drunk night out that ended in tequila shots and no condom.
SHITTING myself about being a parent
EXTREMELY selfish, vain, uncaring (and lots of other things that = being a bad parent)
Hobbies include - Riding my horse, gym, skiing.
Mostly theses days found sobbing in a corner.
Baby lying transverse at mo so hoping he'll move - so I wont need cs.
Quietly excited about meeting him - and - what we'll make of each other

riabutterflew · 07/05/2007 20:51

DKMA - you'll be the perfect parent, what a CV!

Am definitely off now...

Daisybump · 07/05/2007 20:54

Gabriel is a lovely name Ria....I like it.

We're staying away from the thorny issue of names at the moment as we can't agree (now there is a bloody surprise ) Think I might let DS decide.......looks like it'll be Magical Source Mystic Force J then

Actually I quite like the sound of that, it has a certain ring to it

Daisybump · 07/05/2007 20:56

DKMA...you'll be fine. I'd be more worried if you weren't bricking it at the moment!!

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 07/05/2007 20:56

Daisy - I didn't have any pins in my pelvis, but suppose you're right - it might just not have re-set itself back to normal (GP had similar opinion).

He turns for a min or two but then goes straight back
All the kicks are under my right rib cage
I am such a weird shape - bump is wide and flat - not round and forward. When he does get into head down position it is very noticeable cos I totally change shape and look pg!!

I think the concern about transverse is that it's not a good idea to go into natural labour as the cord can prolapse and the uterus can rupture. So I think thats why they like to do the cs's at 37 wks rather than leave it to chance.

One of the posts on the other thread said she had to go into hosp at 36wks for 2 wks bed rest because she finally got the baby the right way round - and they didn't want him going back tranverse etc. Fuck that!????

Daisybump · 07/05/2007 20:57

Is there a limit to how much time you can spend sitting on one of these bouncy balls?

riabutterflew · 07/05/2007 21:02

(yes, am still here - had to raid the easter eggs).

Re Gabriel, I suppose it could be worth it because when DH told FIL what we'd called DS2 he said "I aren't bloody calling him that, it's a girls name (it's not). He'll get his middle name from me when I talk to him..." (wanker) I'm fairly sure I promised I would hit him if he said anything like that again. Now that would cheer me up...

I spotted "Lewin" the other day when flicking through.

Oh, the indecision (and I keep wondering if I should have found out what sort we are having.) Bathtime beckons! (Will get there this time 'cos I need a wee - TMI)
Don't go changing threads without me - I'll find you!

Daisybump · 07/05/2007 21:03

What about being on your hands and knees...might that help to turn him?

Have they discussed ECV or do you not want that? Apparently its a bit uncomfortable to say the least.

I hope he makes his mind up soon. Recovery from my c-section wasn;t too bad and at least if it's elective you'll be fresh after the surgery. I'd been awake pretty much for 48 hours and labouring for about 14 hours before mine and I was a complete wreck...I should post some photos, but it'd just scare all you first timers too much!!

Daisybump · 07/05/2007 21:04

Or would it just give your DH ideas?

justbeme · 07/05/2007 21:06

Just so you dont feel alone DKMAFME , my LO is transverse as well - well it was on thursday at the scan - but as I say Ive had a hell of alot of movement since and im not sure whats going on now!!

derlor · 07/05/2007 21:09

oh Daisy you've inspired me -
due in june - lets all sit on a ball and bounce.
just had a major freak out at the state of the LO's rooms - trivial i know, but hey i'm a virgo!!!
oh about me - i'm 32 as is DH, DS - 7, DD - 3. this one concieved in Barcelona while DH and i having a "productive" 3 days away celebrating our 10th wedding annivrsary! had a fairly easy pregnancy compared to some and plan to spit this one out in a couple of hours by way of a lovely peaceful waterbirth

foxybrown · 07/05/2007 21:09

DKMA - you are going to be a lovely mother. All those negatives you listed about yourself - could have been me before DCs. Now I'm completely selfless and devoted mother and domestic goddess.

Anyone else watching Obedient Wives on Channel 5?

I can feel baby hiccupping in my lefthand hip-bone. Eurgh! too weird!

foxybrown · 07/05/2007 21:11

How is your DS Derlor? Did they have a good time in Balamory? Hope the op goes ok

hollyandalice · 07/05/2007 21:13

FARKING BROADBAND!!! It's been off for most of the day today and all of yesterday! Grrrr.... I blame dp, he keeps downloading crap things and it makes the BB go funny! Hope everyone is well and feeling better after a pretty shit day by the sounds of it!

Daisy I hope dh has stopped being a twunt! If my dp moaned about me not ironing I'd shove the whole lot down his throat (or up his arse, depending on how much he moaned!). I don't do ironing, I do everything else, but not ironing! Hope you are feeling better now.

Welcome flightattendant! It's a madhouse, but we're a pretty good bunch !

I can't remember the other posts! It's taken me so bloody long to read them all that I've forgotten what they said! Shit!

hollyandalice · 07/05/2007 21:14

Oh yes derlor, hope your dcs had fun in balamory! Is ds better?

OP posts:
derlor · 07/05/2007 21:14

DS is much better but still not 100%
they had a ball in Balamory and LOVED the campervan
yeah his op will be fine i'm sure couple of weeks to go yet - just hope i don't pop before then!
just turned over to channel 5 - goodness she's bossy!!!!

foxybrown · 07/05/2007 21:18

ha ha DP just walked in and said "you do watch some shite, you do". Guess he doesn't want me to surrender then!

hollyandalice · 07/05/2007 21:19

Seeing as everyone else is doing it here's me in a nutshell!!

I'm 25, my dp (or should I say df as I have a rock?!) is 36 and we have a dd who is nearly 2. I had a lovely water birth in hosp with dd and am planning a water birth at home for this one (a ds). Don't know what else to say really! I am pretty dull!

{{{waves}}} hi Holly
OK title thread - (taking way too long to go to add bit now) - whats the choices?
Due in June - .............

hollyandalice · 07/05/2007 21:22

hey derlor xxx

I'm not too good at thread titles, anything I said would surely piss someone off!

OP posts:
Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 07/05/2007 21:22

Hey
Thanks for all the support.
I suppose I do know 1 positive thing about myself and that is - I NEVER give up! So if at first I cock up - I'll just keep trying at this being a mother malarkey!!!!

JBM - Ooooh I have 'transverse' buddy! Lets keep bouncing on the balls (ooh err!!!) and hope for the best.

Daisy - I do take up the 'cat' postion - then stick my bum in the air to try to get LO to move - and like I say - he does have a go at it - but just wont stay there.
DH does NOT see this as a sexual come on! much to my dismay! I think if I didn't do it with my clothes on I would probably have him in tears!?

Can that be our new thread title
Due in June......Lets keep bouncing on those balls!!

BadZelda · 07/05/2007 21:22

Hello waves

I'm 33, got one little girl of two and a half and another on the way due mid june...eek! I'm a web designer and work mostly from home, though obviously planning to take at least till Jan off...so currently working my butt off to save up cash, but thankfully stopping in a couple of weeks. Nice to meet you, Flightattendant.
