Daisy - I meant to add - 'then let it rip...'

Its rained in SE London all morning - glad I mowed the lawn yesterday...

bumperlicious · 07/05/2007 20:01

Ria, my mw said that they actually recommend that we stay n for up to 3 days , I thought I'd be out the door! I still might but it's good to have the choice.

Daisybump · 07/05/2007 20:07

I thought you were older than that for some reason bumper.....

June 07 Stats thread

Canny be arsed typing my info out again

Likes....chocolate, red wine, swimming, the great outdoors and knitting

Dislikes....at the moment....DH!

Daisybump · 07/05/2007 20:08

You know you're getting old when.......you want it to rain as its good for the garden

annobal · 07/05/2007 20:09

God Bumper - that never happens here - if it's a relatively normal birth they are throwing you out the door here. Have to say the deciding factor for getting an independent mw was that she insists that the new mum and baby stay in bed for 5 days following the birth

Here's me:

Annobal: I'm 35 and have 2 boys, Tom who is 3 and George who is 2. I haven't worked since I had Tom. I have a lovely DH who likes to remind me when I'm being hormonal. So far I have had a great pg (mainly due to homepath, independent midwife and chiropractor) so far. I'm actually due early July but joined the June thread due to having one very early and one early baby, so mw expects this to arrive mid-June - I have a feeling I will be talking to myself in mid-July...

Daisybump · 07/05/2007 20:10

Bumper...after one very sleepless night on the post-natal ward you'll be glad to get out of there. As long as bub is OK and is feeding well, I'd recommend being at home. I plan on taking to my bed for a few days and rooming in in the comfort of my own bed, with tea on tap and good food at the ready!

riabutterflew · 07/05/2007 20:12

Fab idea bumper. (I want to play on here tonight so I don't feel so lonely, but might go and sort out the CDs later...)

So, I'm ria (as in Butterflies cos as we all know I have mental ramblings and can't cook), 29, been married to DH(chef, 41) for nearly 11 years (mostly happy, not considering DH job which is all-consuming), DS1 - 10, DS2 - 3. This LO was a big (antibiotic induced) surprise, though we would have been planning number 3 in the next couple of years. Have spent most of the PG in denial and am now having a "rude awakening"! (ie, so much to do so little time). DS1&2 were both a couple of weeks early and the implication has been that this one will be too (although that is just opinion of 2 MWs). Have small bump so hardly anyone knows (I can't wait to go out with the pram the first few times!)having said that had small bump with DS2 and he was nearly 9lb, plus the amount of waters - amazing useage of space!!! Am hoping for quick delivery(aren't we all) in the water and delicate-looking baby that will fit in first size clothes for at least a couple of weeks. This is DEFINITELY the last one so need to get value out of it.

Shall I mention the weird dreams?

annobal · 07/05/2007 20:13

Right - I'm off to start a blanket for DS1 (he's seen baby's blanket and wants me to make one for him) and watch NCIS. Also DH is being a pita (most attention I've had for a while ) so must go and pay him some attention

riabutterflew · 07/05/2007 20:19

Sorry I talk too much. Forgot to mention I'm due on 17th June.

I was reading the leaflet I was given by MW about the home-from-home birthing suite and they expect you to leave within 2-6hours of delivery, but you can't use the suite unless you are on midwife-led care. I am under consultant care because I have a history of antenatal depression and also my BMI is just over the cut-off point for MWledcare. When I had my first consultant appt though he asked why I was there! I am seeing him tomorrow so might find out my options then. I had hoped for 1 night in hospital because I'm terrified of soming home with a LO to two boys and my DH!

Daisybump · 07/05/2007 20:23

I was right...no chocolate.....but just remembered I bought some fun-size mars bars the other day so all is not lost. I'm going to be sad and stick around all evening as I don't want to talk to DH.

Getting a sweaty bottom on this ball though!

Oh and due 29th June - but possible CS due to fibroid in way - but final verdict at 36 weeks.

foxybrown · 07/05/2007 20:29

Err, having caught up I can't remember anything.

Hi Flightattendant! Glad you've joined us. I'm 37, pg with no 4 (have 2 boys 5+4, girl 2 and expecting another girl on 29 June). Had a scary pg at first, but got better. Hoping to have my 3rd HB. Have DP (PITA, might as well not have one, away alot) did a spell of single-parenting at the beginning too, so like Daisy, can understand a little.

In answer to Annobel, PJs for loungewear rather than nightwear. I for one don't intend to get properly dressed for the first two weeks.

Daisybump · 07/05/2007 20:30

Sorry JBN....meant to answer but I'm in full on rant against DH mode today.

I've been feeling slow movement generally with lots of hiccups, then every so often LO goes a bit mental and tries to kick the proverbial sh*t out of me with lots of twitching. I did worry a bit that the baby is having some kind of fit.....but I think it's normal....maybe trying to turn around but can't anymore as its only been happening over the last couple of weeks

foxybrown · 07/05/2007 20:32

I like both JBM & Annobels thread title suggestions - although am slightly concerned by the reference to God - its bound to get us into trouble !!!

Daisybump · 07/05/2007 20:34

Looks like I'm the only lazy one....me 38, DH 39, DS nearly 5.....2 mcs before conceiving this LO...had a horrible pg so far, but enjoying my maternity leave...the calm before the storm.

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 07/05/2007 20:34

Hiya!

Back again, and have managed a whole day without sobbing! And I've been out in public and everything!!

Bumper - Thanks for the link re Traverse baby thing. I'm bouncing away on my ball (also with a bit of a sticky bum!!) I'm not giving up! But I have to say that he just hates my pelvis and wont stay there for longer than a few mins at a time. Any how I am one of only 1% of women that have a traverse baby - so I am feeling 'special' whilst quietly shitting myself to!

Big 'hello' to FA by the way!!

Daisybump · 07/05/2007 20:35

I think anything is going to get us in trouble Foxy......they'll be watching us you know!!

riabutterflew · 07/05/2007 20:37

Probably best steering clear of God...

Due in June...am bursting to be a wonderful, perfect parent to this much-loved child...

Maybe not

riabutterflew · 07/05/2007 20:38

Actually, the way I've been feeling these last couple of days - Due in June...am bursting

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 07/05/2007 20:39

I have some thread titles in mind!!!!!!! But all very sweary and provoking

Daisybump · 07/05/2007 20:40

Hi DKMA...glad you're feeling better now!

Did you have any pins or anything in your pelvis? There's nothing in the way is there.

I was reading something about babies engaging later in subsequent pregnancies because the pelvis re-aligns itself differently to a pre-pg pelvis. Is it possible that becuse of the accident yours is behaving more like the pelvis of a woman whos had a baby and that's what's stopping LO from engaging. Has bub been head down at all, or always transverse? I know mine is head down, but not yet engaged, but she does seem to go sideways for a bit as I feel the kicks around my middle.

Gosh....20 questions...sorry!

foxybrown · 07/05/2007 20:43

that's interesting Daisy. Baby might not engage until labour day, but fingers crossed he or she gets into a better position soon to put your mind at rest.

Yes, any news from the 'experts'?

Daisybump · 07/05/2007 20:43

Only two April babies left to come out and nine so far for the May lot....it's getting closer.....aaaaargh

riabutterflew · 07/05/2007 20:44

Am going to have a cheering-up bath and read the baby names book I found the other day when sorting the oh-so-tiny baby grows (they are frighteningly small...). DH has decided he now likes Gabriel the best. Any thoughts? (I am not against it BTW, just it's not my favourite.)
