That’s amazing namechangedtoscream!!! So so happy for you xxx

MonaTheMoaner · 19/02/2018 11:08

Mine is recent too @kirinm. The past three days and I'm peeing 3-4 times in the night which is just nuts since I didn't think I'd have to cope with this so early on. I really hope it buggars off again.

LostMyBaubles · 19/02/2018 11:39

Mona im up that many times most nights to pee atm.

Namechange congrats! Lovely lil scan pic

Ah my hubby is against any talks of names. He insisits of it being final once the baby is here. So I pick and tell him I like these names and 9/10 (well 2/3 lol) it worked. I did give him 2 of my fav names to pick from once and told him which one I like the most so he went with that 1. He says I did all the hard work so I should get to pick.

If we are having a girl I have 3 names I like and I want her middle names to have my grandma and his grandmas name in it.

This baby is the first of all my fam that wont see my grandma. She passed last year and its still very raw but I think having her name in there (her converted name that she didnt use that much rather than her birth name so its not too weird)

MonaTheMoaner · 19/02/2018 12:32

@LostMyBaubles it's normal then! Annoying but normal. I was concerned about a UTI but there are no other symptoms to indicate that.

LostMyBaubles · 19/02/2018 12:33

If it starts to burn when you pee or you get pains etc send a sample off urine off via gp

MonaTheMoaner · 19/02/2018 15:35

Scan has been moved to 1st March in another hospital as my midwife didn't state I wanted screening tests so I'll be 13 weeks exactly. Next Thursday then! Very nervous but excited. I just want to see a healthy baby.

No burning or anything so hopefully all normal!

Fia256 · 19/02/2018 16:01

I'm having an absolute nightmare at work. Been on secondment covering mat leave for the last year and I've just been told today that they are cutting my hours back to what they were before secondment - in ten days time!!!! I have argued it with them that it should be 4 weeks notice, especially as what they are giving me doesn't work with childcare and basically comes into effect next week. The worst part is I just KNOW the decision was made to not permanently up my hours because I'm pregnant. But I can't prove it Angry our mat leave is 6 months of 100% pay, then down to smp the last 3 months. So quite clearly they've made the decision based on that. I'm so angry but also now having to dig out all contracts to double check the contract notice period!

LostMyBaubles · 19/02/2018 17:00

Omg
So I rang about my appt and it's been moved as I will be over 14weeks.
Its on my birthday now on the 1st

LostMyBaubles · 19/02/2018 17:01

Fia that is really really shitty of them to do that. Hope you manage to pull up some documents to help

UppityStitch · 19/02/2018 17:04

Just finished my booking appointment. I'll still be under consultant led care as I'm super high risk due to a pre-existing medical conditions and post partum complications last time. I had all my booking bloods done but they couldn't do the screening ones as I'm currently 9+4 and I have to be 10+, so I need to go back the week before my scan.

@Fia256 what a surprise, I'm sorry to hear that. I can't believe I'm still stunned at the lengths some companies will go to when it comes to pregnant employees. I went through it when I was pregnant with DS and a few friends have as well. Check your home insurance to see if you have legal cover as you can get free legal advice.

CuppaSarah · 19/02/2018 17:28

Fia I can't believe they're being so blatant, how can be people be so rubbish towards pregnant women in the workplace. Good luck digging up your contract tonight, I have my fingers crossed it's in black a white about the notice period.

Glad that scans are being brought forward! Over the next few weeks we'll be getting so many beautiful scan pics.

Does anyone feel like a big faker right now. Despite being sick every morning, being funny about certain foods, being out of breath, getting ill if I don't eat enough etc. I just feel like a tired, spotty version of me. I feel like each appointment they're going to give me a teacher stare and tell me off for being over dramatic and that I'm not pregnant.

Zoey36 · 19/02/2018 18:11

@Cuppa yes I feel like a complete liar!I have been this baby move on the scan and everything and I still feel like I'm lying to people!Told my mother in law yesterday and felt naughty!

Fia256 · 19/02/2018 18:22

Thanks all, it's ridiculous and I'm so so angry about it. The worst thing is I feel like my blood pressure is probably absolutely sky high now. I've already got high blood pressure and I just feel so stressed out now. I've been in tears on and off from frustration as I have no time to adjust to what is basically a 50% drop in my income nearly with no notice to be able to sort things out so it can be done without being short of money by the end of the month!! I don't have an issue as such with the price drop, just that they've given no notice. Feel like with my past pregnancy history, the last thing I need right now is added stress Sad

MonaTheMoaner · 19/02/2018 18:31

@LostMyBaubles what time is yours? Mine is the same day so asking so I know what time to log on for updates! Mine isn't until 1:30.

@Fia256 any luck with the contract? That's absolutely ridiculous. I hope to god there's four weeks notice in your contract.

Scout2018 · 19/02/2018 18:48

There was an item on Radio 4 this morning about Maternity rights and discrimination towards women who may want children- they had lots of advice. Might be worth a google, as a few organisations were mentioned who are there to push for equal rights. They may have "helplines" or similar?

Fia256 · 19/02/2018 18:59

Will have a look, Thankyou! I'm going to ring Acas tomorrow and see what they say.

Contract definitely says 4 weeks notice but there's nothing on secondment. I'm going to see HR tomorrow to see what the paperwork they have on it says and go from there. I don't want to go in tomorrow at all I feel so stressed but then I need to!

Sorry to moan, I just feel so stressed I've sat and sobbed for the last half hour which I know sounds stupid and probably made worse by hormones but I'm just so angry with it all! Going to get them to take my blood pressure tomorrow (work in a hospital). They'd probably send me home right there and then following the likely result!

Sorry enough about me, congrats on the scan @Namechangedtoscream so pleased all was ok! Hope everyone else is ok today!

Shook2018 · 19/02/2018 19:07

Congratulations namechanged on the scan! That's fab!

Fia that really sucks, good luck with your contract and ACAS, hopefully you'll find something in there. Crazy this still goes on.

I went to the docs today and my cough has been caused from my morning sickness irritating my throat so badly! Gaviscon is supposed to be helpful if you've got a dry cough (I know a few did, Cuppa?) so I'm hoping that helps me!

CuppaSarah · 19/02/2018 20:05

Are you in a union Fia I had some issues in my last pregnancy with work and my union were amazing and really helped me out. It's not silly to be upset or stressed at all, the potential situation is really scary and anyone would be lost. You deserve so much better, but you sound like between the tears you have a solid plan and will get there!

Shook I hope the gaviscon helps you! Mines sadly viral as the whole house, both my parents, the teachers at dds school, my sil and nephews all have it, The entire of Surrey and Berkshire are infected I think! It's been going on over a week, really hope I'm better by the 27th, I don't want to be potentially contagious in a waiting room full of expectant mums.

Mrsssmith11 · 19/02/2018 20:24

My goodness. This exhaustion is crippling. I'm so tired it hurts.

Fia256 · 19/02/2018 20:29

Not in a union no, I have no idea how to start with that but probably should be anyway!

Is anyone else struggling to hide the bump if they are showing? I had last week off and half of the week before, and when I went back today it was painfully obvious I'm pregnant! I can also barely breathe in my work clothes already! With my other two dc I didn't need maternity clothes till gone 25 weeks or so! This time I seem to have ballooned extra quickly!

CuppaSarah · 19/02/2018 20:38

Fia google your job title and union and it will give you a good idea what will be a good fit. If you work in healthcare it's definitely a very good idea to join one. Some of them, have political ties and part of your fees is a political donation, but by writing to them to ask them to not include that you get a lower price.

Scout2018 · 19/02/2018 21:05

I feel like I'm showing loads! I'm twelve weeks tomorrow so at least we can tell people soon - it's getting a bit awkward (I noticed a colleague kept looking at my belly the other day!)

MonaTheMoaner · 19/02/2018 21:24

I'm overweight so have a bigger 'pouch' tummy anyway. I can notice it's bigger but nobody else can, not even DH (but he's not very perceptive).

Most of my clothes are stretchy or high rise as that's the most flattering for me. My waist is my thinnest point so I'm dreading losing that as I'm literally going to look like a long sphere 🙄 Making the most of my baggy jumpers now before we tell the world.

Still wondering whether to tell after the scan at 13 weeks, the sex scan at 16 weeks or the 20 week anomaly scan. It's only really family and Facebook friends that need to know as close friends, my daughters and my sister who's like my mum already know. On one hand I want to be excited and talk about it but on the other I like the fact it's our little private thing right now.

Day 8 of no smoking and I'm struggling more today than in the very early days. I'll get through it for our baby's sake but I just want the next week and a half to fly by so I can see our baby again.

Namechangedtoscream · 19/02/2018 21:41

I lost so much weight in the early weeks due to HG (people were commenting how slim I looked) that I think my new bump is showing as I'm being asked unsubtely whether I'd ever have baby #2...

mamaiFifi · 19/02/2018 21:45

@Fia256 def get onto your union. Do you have a contract for the secondment?

I also had a belly beforehand but can feel my clothes tightening and I havnt put any weight on at this stage. Trying to get as much wear out of my clothes now before I have to change Grin
