have no idea but am very curious to see Kirin I knon wnb b xv vbn,,.l,/

Namechangedtoscream · 16/02/2018 14:59

I often wonder that @kirinm as my last one was 13 years ago. I don't know if I could consider another with a 22 year gap - although I will be young enough to have another then

kirinm · 16/02/2018 15:06

The gap is pretty huge but DS is really chuffed with the news. If we had anymore, there's definitely no time for huge gaps next time.

RedRobin7 · 16/02/2018 15:07

Hi ladies, does anyone suffer with severe migraines? I've had them since I was 11 and they start with visual disturbances, I go numb on one side of my body from head to toe for about 20 minutes, confusion starts and I have trouble speaking properly and then the severe headache. Sometimes I'm sick on top of that!

My husband was diagnosed with Coeliac disease two years ago and I thought I discovered that eating less gluten (because we were often sharing meals) was helping my migraines. I went gluten free with him so it made it easier not to contaminate him at home. My migraines seemed to be once every few months instead of weekly/monthly.

Anyway.. this week I've had two migraines. I am supposed to be on annual leave today but instead I've been in bed all day and I'm still in so much pain. There's nothing I can take to help the pain. I don't feel strong enough to walk downstairs to eat and I'm nearly out of water! My husband is on his way home. I'm just so scared that this is going to keep happening now my hormones are changing and I don't want to lose my job! Also if I'm getting more frequent migraines should I go back to eating gluten and wheat? I guess it should be a gradual thing in case my stomach disagrees with it. Also the baby will be eating gluten once it's on food so makes sense for me to eat it too now I guess.

I've tried talking to my doctor about the gluten free diet but she's useless and I'm not sure the midwife will have any thoughts either Sad

CuppaSarah · 16/02/2018 15:19

With gluten I think a bit of it will need to be trial and error, but I don't think there's any reason you need to go back onto a diet with gluten if it makes your migraines worse. Baby will get all they need from a balanced gluten free diet and it saves worrying about cross contamination with your dh. But don't worry about work, you may need to tell them sooner, but as the migraines are caused by pregnancy hormones, they cannot hold them against you or follow disciplinary procedures.

As I was saying before I walked off and ds mashed the keyboard, I am very curious to see what it's like with a long age gap! Is it scary going back to a baby when nappies are so far behind you? Or really exciting as it's fresh again and you can focus on the newborn a bit more intensely as the older children are so independent?

Namechangedtoscream · 16/02/2018 15:26

Hi redrobin yes I have hemiplegic migraine and chronic migraine and recently had botox which is a miracle cure for them. Sadly hormones can make them worse and pregnancy can be kill or cure. My triggers include hormones citrus dried fruit and tannins they're a nightmare

Sals27 · 16/02/2018 15:31

Sorry no advice redrobin but that sounds horrible. I would definitely tell work about the pregnancy so they can't hold it against you.

Is anyone else getting cramps still? Im 10w tomorrow and I've been crampy all the time. This week I then started getting short sharp pains if I stood up too quickly and today I'm getting sharper more painful cramps even when not moving. It doesnt feel AF like, its different and sure its just everything growing and moving but its so hard not to worry

PirateWeasel · 16/02/2018 16:03

Got my 12 week scan appointment through, yippee! Only three and a half weeks to wait! I can't wait to get into the second trimester. I feel like a wiped out crazy person, and would very much like to kiss my husband without gagging at his breath! Poor guy. X

LostMyBaubles · 16/02/2018 16:04

Sals I'm still getting craps here and there. I dunno if it's cramps per se but it's low level ish pain.

Robin really sorry to hear you are struggling so much. Can you speak to midwife and ask them to refer you onto a consultant at the hosp? They might be more helpful than gp

I think spd will be setting in quick. I'm already waddling, My pelvic area is hurting when I walk a little and my feet are bloody killing

Fia256 · 16/02/2018 17:58

Glad I'm not the only one who's felt the little flutters then! I think especially when you've had previous pregnancies, you know the difference between the pops of gas and the fluttery movements!

Everything I've eaten today has gone straight through me which has been miserable today, especially as we've been on a day out with the kids. I had to keep running to the loo with bad ibs type cramps! Really ruined the day!!

LostMyBaubles · 16/02/2018 18:26

I'm opposite 😐 I'm constipated and need to go to the loo

I've felt baby around 3 times today which was nice.

Zoey36 · 16/02/2018 23:03

I had very painful back cramping this evening...as in doubled over crying. I thought it must be a UTI but I got my urine checked and no sign of one. Took 2 paracetamol which has taken the edge off. Then have just been sick but I don't think I've been sick from the pain...just sick. I was so worried that I was miscarrying when she said there was no UTI but now I feel it could just be something small? Like trapped wind/a bug etc. Anyone have any idea? Still in pain but very manageable now with a hot water bottle and paracetamol.

RedRobin7 · 17/02/2018 07:59

Morning ladies! I'm still feeling very weak after spending all day yesterday in bed with a migraine. My back is not pleased either! My manager knows I'm pregnant but she was already on my case when I worked from home on Wednesday after the first migraine - I'm allowed to work from home twice a week so I asked her what her problem was! I haven't told HR yet but feel I may need to if these migraine carry on. I will also speak with the midwife to see what she thinks.

I've finally got my 8 week scan today but I'm so nervous something will be wrong Sad

Fia256 · 17/02/2018 08:18

Good look today with your scan @RedRobin7. Know exactly how you feel, think it's totally normal to feel worried, I think I held my breath each scan so far till I could see the heartbeat!

Fia256 · 17/02/2018 08:18

Luck not look!

Namechangedtoscream · 17/02/2018 09:59

Good luck with the scan today and hope the migraines subside soon.

I'm so so itchy. My boobs are driving me mad and my belly is itching like crazy. I'm assuming it's skin stretching as I'm getting a bump already but omg any tips to stop it?

kirinm · 17/02/2018 10:26

That sounds really annoying names! I'm sure I've read about a pregnancy condition that causes itching. I can't remember what it's called but you might want to check? I always use something cold to calm itching down (I occasionally get eczema). Maybe an ice pack?

dingdongdigeridoo · 17/02/2018 10:47

Are you ok now zoey? Cramps seem to be quite common in early pregnancy. They were definitely worse with my first. Always worth checking with epu if you are worried.

Shook2018 · 17/02/2018 11:36

Just catching up but congratulations on those beautiful scans! Amazing so clear! Aaaaah this is all so real there's really babies in there! Lol!

Anyone else having trouble with these hormones? I cried yesterday seeing a dog in the park with a jacket that said Nervous Old Lady. I'm totally nuts.

LostMyBaubles · 17/02/2018 11:45

Name keep moisturised. The back of my knees are itchy all the bloody time it's crazy.
I think that thing with itching during pregnancy is connected to the liver??

Woke up a mess thinking everything has ended. I dunno why l. Baby has just moved I'm defo feeling stronger movements since last week.

My first 2 scans showed similar gestation and the one I've just had put me in front a week. I think this baby will be a big one and that's prob why I'm feeling it more. I'm high risk for GD so might be that (big baby do feel baby more)

What started out as flutters now feels stronger. Not complaining lol

LostMyBaubles · 17/02/2018 11:45

Shook I'm crying at a lot

And I'm snapping at even more lol

Zoey36 · 17/02/2018 12:05

@dingdongdigeridoo I'm not cramping now...more of an ache. Nowhere is open at the weekend but I called somewhere (I was actually delerious from the pain and can't remember moat of last night?!No idea how I'm going to get this baby out Haha!) and they said because I'm not bleeding it's unlikely to be anything bad. So I'm topped up with paracetamol and its just aching now. I was really scared. I'm telling my parents this evening that they are going to be grandparents eeeeek!

CuppaSarah · 17/02/2018 12:43

Zoey that sounds awful glad you're feeling better. Have you been constipated at all? I remember as a teenager being rushed to a and e, in so much pain I couldn't walk. My entire lower torso was just pain. Worse than labour. In the waiting room I managed to pass gas and the pain massively eased. Turned out it wasn't appendicitis like they thought. Just constipation and trapped wind Blush but I never knew it could cause pain like that.

LostMyBaubles · 17/02/2018 13:42

Trapped wind hurts. A lot.
At the beginning of this pregnancy I went to epu thinking ectopic
Thankfully everything was ok and they could see lots of bowel gasses lol

RedRobin7 · 17/02/2018 14:26

I've just had my scan. Based on LMP I should be 8 weeks today but based on ovulation tracking I was two days out so I would be at least 7w5d today but the scan is coming back at 6w5d. How can I be a whole week out? I'm so scared now. We weren't having regular sex and I was closely monitoring ovulation with two types of sticks so I don't understand how we can be so far behind. We heard a heartbeat (102 which is don't think is as strong as it should be?). Afraid to get my hopes up now. The scan was £95 so I don't think my husband will allow me to have another. Feeling so sad Sad
