Congrats on the scans! Just gorgeous.

I think it’s natural to feel anxious fia. Mine is on weds and I’m really nervous. I guess at this stage it all feels a little unknown. We might feel better once it’s over and done with!

Fia256 · 15/02/2018 19:04

Hopefully! I feel like you become properly pregnant when you've had the 12 week scan lol 😂

Random one, but if anyone has a bad back from either an injury or previous pregnancies, are you finding if you do too much in a day it ceases up? Was DS birthday party today so was on the go a lot, when we got back and I'd sat down for a bit I really felt it! I feel like it cripples me and almost sets sciatica off! I have already had sciatica a couple of times when lounging around in the same position for too long then getting up, but now I'm finding I'm crippled after just being up and about too much!

kirinm · 15/02/2018 19:14

My scan is still over a week away so I've not really started to think about it too much but I know once next week is over it'll be on my mind constantly.

CuppaSarah · 15/02/2018 19:28

I'm already terrified about the scan and having horrible intrusive thoughts about it. I'll either get right back into the cbt and be a zen master, or a gibbering wreck. We shall see.

On an exciting note, all these scans mean we could see twins!! Who will it be?! Grin

Namechangedtoscream · 15/02/2018 19:30

Congrats on the scans!

I have my last reassurance scan on Monday at 11+1 then my 12 week scan the following wednesday. It's come round quickly!

Namechangedtoscream · 15/02/2018 19:32

As for back issues I have SI joint dysfunction and osteoarthritis in the lumbar and cervical spine I'm doing ok at the moment. Ask me at 38 weeks and I may be swearing a bit more...

Scout2018 · 15/02/2018 19:52

Oh my goodness so exciting to see the scan photos. Congratulations everyone!
It's making me excited and nervous for mine! It's happening next Thursday - the same day I fly out to New Zealand for a month. I'm terrified it's going to be bad news - I'm flying alone and that is a really long time to be alone with my thoughts.
Is anyone else travelling during pregnancy? It's a work trip so not really planned and the midwife seems confident about me health wise on the flight. Still scary though! Xx

Jfw82 · 15/02/2018 20:09

@Scout2018 I'm booked to go to the US when I'll be 29 weeks. My sister lives out there and we booked flights on a good deal before we found out. Am going to need a fit to fly note and hoping I'm feeling ok by then it'll be hard enough with an 18 month old!!

LostMyBaubles · 15/02/2018 20:16

Fia my back, hips and feet are already giving me problems
I've had spd with all3

Lovely to see such amazing pics

UppityStitch · 15/02/2018 20:28

@Scout2018 I'm flying from London to Edinburgh at the end of May. I'll roughly be 26 weeks I won't need a certificate but my consultant might advise against it due to previous blood pressure issues.

kirinm · 15/02/2018 21:48

I've just had some bright red bleeding after going to the toilet. I'm really constipated at the moment (sorry for tmi) do you think that could cause problems? I'm not continuing to bleed so I think it was definitely related to going to the toilet but now I'm obviously panicking.

Namechangedtoscream · 15/02/2018 22:13

Was it a vaginal or a bum bleed? Vaginal bleed = ring EPU bum bleed = pharmacist

kirinm · 15/02/2018 22:21

Vaginal but it has stopped as soon as it started. Someone has suggested blood vessels that get irritated by bowel movements. I'm going to see how things are tomorrow. I really don't want to spend tomorrow at the EPU - I was there last Friday!

dingdongdigeridoo · 16/02/2018 00:15

Could just be a cervical bleed but it’s worth getting checked out if you’re worried. Hope you’re ok.

CuppaSarah · 16/02/2018 06:37

kirin it's probably just constipation irritating something, but especially given your history you should really get checked. For the peace of mind more than anything.

kirinm · 16/02/2018 08:11

Thanks all. I actually don't feel worried to be honest. The bleeding has stopped - stopped as quickly as it started. And it was definitely toilet related. I'm wondering if this is what my bleed at 5w was from - irritating something in my cervix or something. I'm going to try and stay calm. Hope everyone has a good Friday. I'm so relieved it's the weekend but have quite a hectic one planned which I'm dreading because of the nausea.

Fia256 · 16/02/2018 08:15

@kirinm it's probably the constipation that's caused the bleeding but best to get it checked out

Does anyone else feel as if they are properly showing? Not just bloat. With my other pregnancies I always knew the daily bump was bloat as through the night and in the morning it would completely disappear until I'd eaten again. This time for the last week now, it's like it 24/7! My work uniform is already tight, I think I'll be needing maternity clothes sooner than I thought!

Also, I know I'll deserve the eye rolls for this one, but last night laying on my side in bed (the side baby is nearer to) I felt two little flutters. It wasn't followed up at all by gas and I know it sounds ridiculous but after feeling 3 previous baby's kick early anyway, you get to know the difference between the 2. Also last time at 13 weeks I was laying on my back once and felt my tummy go hard on one side and the baby had literally pushed right up and formed a little lump out of my tummy. Which is why I'm thinking if it did that last time so early, maybe I'm not going crazy at 11 weeks this time Grin

CuppaSarah · 16/02/2018 08:45

Fia I felt flutters at 12 weeks with ds, they were very very rare, but maybe once a week I'd get them. So entirely possible. A woman on that birth board had them quite a bit as she was very tiny and felt one during the scan and saw the baby kick at the same time, so knew it wasn't gas.

I'm already in maternity clothes, some of it is weight gain, but after a good meal, my stomach sticks out so far, I think as it can't stretch downwards anymore. I got a huge maternity clothes bundle with everything I need for 25 quid on ebay. The woman had fab taste in clothes aswell!

I have a house full of giddy five year olds and their mothers tomorrow. I told them they could drop and run but they all wanted to stay. In our little two bed terrace! Currently trying to undo weeks of neglected housework. Does anyone fancy coming round and cleaning for me

kirinm · 16/02/2018 08:55

@CuppaSarah I said I've got a hectic weekend - it basically involves meeting a friend for brunch and the thought of that is tiring. God knows how you cope with lots of 5 year olds and their mums to entertain.

CuppaSarah · 16/02/2018 09:03

Well to be fair Kirin your sickness is way more severe than mine and going out for food is no small feat! Plus the mums are all really lovely and I get to use my hot water urn! I have one of those ones like they have in village halls! Everyone in my family has one, it's kind of a tradition, like when you receive your urn you're allowed to help host and organise the family events. But since everyone has one I don't get to use mine lots. I would like to point out, I am the only one of my generation with an urn. Kind of gone off my point, but basically I'm in my comfort zone hosting! You're welcome to brunch here with your friend, I can provide pin the horn on the unicorn, tiaras and plastic bracelets.

Bearsonstairs · 16/02/2018 09:06

Eek so nice to see those lovely scans! We’ve got ours next Wednesday and it feels like a big moment because we’ve been waiting to make some decisions re leave/work etc until after the scan. Hard not to worry though!

blondie1001 · 16/02/2018 10:12

@Fia I swear I can feel movement. I felt it at 15 weeks last time. With my new EDD I'm 13 weeks tomorrow. I've had so many phantom kicks since DS was born, I don't know if it's just that though!

Good luck to all the people with approaching scans - can't want to see all the pics!

Mrsssmith11 · 16/02/2018 10:45

I am now regretting saying that I have no nausea. Today I am scared to even talk in case I vomit. I am trying to keep eating because when I was pregnant with dd eating stopped me feeling sick. I am going to be the size of a house! I'm chunky anyway!

LostMyBaubles · 16/02/2018 13:05

Fia I was going to post about it but didmt want the eyerolls lol

I've been feeling the odd thing here and there. This is 4th pregnancy for me. Lovely to feel!

kirinm · 16/02/2018 13:53

My last (and only) baby was 22 years ago. Do you think my body will have forgotten it has done this before so I won't feel movements or get a bump until much later or do you think it's a done it once, never forget type thing?
