@Sals27 That's great! So pleased for you! It's crazy how much we can unnecessarily worry about getting the opposite reaction that it stops us from just getting on with it. Definitely nice to not have to worry about it now.

blondie1001 · 13/02/2018 15:35

Urgh @Squidgy that is so grim. I'm having real trouble with smells making me ill too. Hope it stops soon. I guess there's no polite way of telling someone their breath is making you sick Grin

dingdongdigeridoo · 13/02/2018 15:51

Oh god, bad breath is disgusting. My only suggestion is to suddenly become a real mint enthusiast and keep pushing them on everyone in the team. Mints are nice when feeling sick too.

Not gum though. I was queuing the other day and someone was chewing gum close to me. All I could smell was bad breath and fake peppermint. Vom.

kirinm · 13/02/2018 16:12

@dingdongdigeridoo chewing gum is my saviour! It's what makes me cope between the hours of 11-5pm! Hopefully I don't have bad breath though

dingdongdigeridoo · 13/02/2018 16:44

I don’t mind gum when clean people chew it! It just doesn’t cover bad breath and would probably make the office worse. The guy in the queue looked like he was using it instead of a toothbrush.

jubbablub · 13/02/2018 18:26

Booking in appointment done today. Apparently I have no risk factors at all whatsoever, so all clear to go with the midwife led unit.

12 week scan booked for the day that I’m 13 weeks!! Let’s hope they can see everything and I don’t have to wait any longer.

Have you all made your decision about screening tests?

Fia256 · 13/02/2018 18:48

I'm going to have the screening tests this time (never opted for them before). Only reason being we didn't have a post mortem done on our baby we lost last year as I just didn't want to know, so I know it probably sounds silly but feel like I need to know this time just incase! The thought of getting the results scares me to death though! Will pay for harmony test if odds are high though

Brownbear84 · 13/02/2018 18:54

@jubbablub my booking in tomorrow, when's your 12 week scan booked for? I'm also at epau tomorrow for a scan due to pains xx

maxiflump1 · 13/02/2018 19:03

@Brownbear84 my booking in appointment is tomorrrow too! Hope all goes ok at EPU.

CuppaSarah · 13/02/2018 20:03

I've always had the screening tests. the last two pregnancies it was just assumed I would and was opt out. this time it was opt in and I got the impression it wasn't the most popular choice. Are there any negatives to it I'm not aware of?

Good luck tomorrow Brownbear and everyone else booking in.

Mrsssmith11 · 13/02/2018 20:50

Had my booking in appointment today. All fine. She's referred me for my scan which should be at some point during week of 5th March so only 3 weeks to wait.

Seems a bit more real. We told mil tonight. She's thrilled. Not told my mum yet because I know she'll blab, I can't tell her until I'm ready for everyone to know.

I'm excited to tell dd. I want to share this with her and have her learn with me every week how the baby is doing. She's only 3, she'll be 4 in June, but she's super smart and so desperate to be a big sister. I'll tell her once I know everything is ok after my scan.

Flamingo84 · 13/02/2018 20:57

Anyone else turned into some sort of military grade sniffer dog?!

The smell of Sour Cream Pringles makes me heave. After my shower I opened the bathroom door, hadn’t even stepped out of the room and could smell them as if they were in my hand.
I shouted down to DH asking if he was eating them (he was), and he’s very impressed with my new superpowers! 😂

jubbablub · 13/02/2018 21:14

@Brownbear84 Booked for the 16th. Really excited.

Yeah, I think it makes sense to have them and then I think we would pay for the harmony test

I had an early scan at the EPAU last week due to pains and reduced symptoms. It has really put my mind at rest. Really amazing.

Brownbear84 · 13/02/2018 22:01

Did you see much on the scan last week? It feels like trapped wind or something but I just feel like a should get checked. Hoping I have mine before the 16th march that seems forever away xx

Shook2018 · 13/02/2018 22:12

Hahaha flamingo absolutely! I can smell someone who's had just one beer at five thousand paces! I can tell exactly what's been cooking when I walk into a room! My work colleague has a dog and keeps putting her coat on the spare chair next to me and the dog smell is killing me lol!

Namechangedtoscream · 13/02/2018 22:17

I got stuck behind an old man who clearly hadn't had a wash or clean clothes for months at the shops earlier and had to drop everything to get to the loo to throw up.

Namechangedtoscream · 13/02/2018 22:59

Is anyone else struggling with shortness of breath? I really can't catch my breath lately and it's worrying me. At my booking in appointment my BP was 186/88 and the midwife wasn't concerned and it was 145/89 on the weekend at the hospital.

I don't know if it's anxiety or something else.

CuppaSarah · 14/02/2018 07:43

My nose is so stuffy I can't smell anything! Envious of you with super smell.

NameChanged I'm out of breathe constantly. Up the stairs, out of breathe, get the kids ready to go out, out of breathe, go to the loo, out of breathe. I'm sick of it. I feel so unfit.

kirinm · 14/02/2018 08:03

My nose is quite stuffy too. Wasn't sure if I was getting a cold or if it's something pregnancy related.

Flamingo84 · 14/02/2018 08:09

Apparently stuffy noses are also pretty common in early pregnancy. Something to do with blood vessels expanding if I remember correctly. So we either have super sense of smell or a complete block!

blondie1001 · 14/02/2018 08:10

@namechanged I’m always out of breath too - even getting out of bed is hard

CuppaSarah · 14/02/2018 08:29

Just booked a 15/minute photo shoot with a local woman for the kids. Do you think it's mega twee if we get one of those signs saying we're having a baby and get some nice photos of them with it? Since it's my last I kind of want to go all out. Plus it'd be lovely to give the grandparents.

Fia256 · 14/02/2018 09:54

No go for it @CuppaSarah that sounds lovely! This will be our last too and I plan on making the most of it with an announcement of some sort!

Shook2018 · 14/02/2018 10:25

Absolutely go for it CuppaSarah they always look lush! I love a pregnancy announcement!

MonaTheMoaner · 14/02/2018 10:57

Do it @CuppaSarah! I'll be doing the same thing with the kids (not me in there though). Definitely not too twee!
