Amazing Lost a whole week is GONE! into thin air! I really hope my due date doesn't change at the 12 week scan! We all need to stick together now.

I really hope all over sickness disapears the day after the 12 week scan, that way everyone is reassured by the scan before it goes. Sound good? Shall I book it in with the powers that be?

Had a hell of a day, was watching my amazing but mental nephews, but as dd is off school I had 4 kids under 5. As we pulled up outside the house dd vomited all over herself and our coats. Fortunately she was just over excited. Unfortunately they had no clean clothes she could borrow apart from a t-shirt and shorts, so she was freezing. Then there was basically no food in the house as they're due a gorcery delivery tomorrow, so four hungry kids and a very hungry prenant lady. End up dealing with a bailiff that had come to deliver some debty thing to them which was really quite unnerving, especially as they thought I was my sil and all four kids were mine and were asking lots of questions. Then my debit card and emergency credit card were gone when we tried to buy nappies. Dh had them. So had to take two very hungry, tired, grumpy kids home crying for the whole 45 minute drive. While preying ds doesn't poo till dh gets home. There have been ugly hormonal tears today, normally I am pretty resilient with this stuff, but my tolerance is just gone.

On the plus side I am making dh get fish and chips on the way home. I deserve this. looking back I'm very lucky to be able to be a sahp and not to be stuck at work feeling ill, I remember how awful that was before. But deffo bringing a shit load of food next time I watch them!

MonaTheMoaner · 12/02/2018 17:05

@CuppaSarah that sounds like one hell of a day. Can you relax tonight?

dingdongdigeridoo · 12/02/2018 17:13

Phew Lost, that is a relief.

Oh dear Sarah. That sounds bad. Is your SIL getting proper debt advice? Maybe you could refer her to Step Change or a similar organisation, as it must be pretty bad if baliffs are showing up.

Bearsonstairs · 12/02/2018 17:14

Haven’t been around for a little while as have been on holiday in France. So awful to see some losses for people but also lovely scans! I’ve got my 12 week next Wednesday - excited but nervous, will be glad when it’s done. Had bloods done today so they can give me the combined test results on the day.

I thought my nausea had started to go away but travelling brought it back with force - vomited on arrival and again when I got back home! Now back to low level sickness. Ovia keeps telling me it will go away about now but no sign yet!

RedRobin7 · 12/02/2018 17:23

@CuppaSarah That sounds like a horrendous day. I don't know how you managed all that. I'm sat here feeling sorry for myself just because I've come home from work with a headache and feeling sick... totally puts things in perspective when others are dealing with so much more!

Waiting for my husband to come home from work so we can eat. I really don't want to cook and wish we could have fish and chips but we had it twice last week. Oops! Quick and easy tuna pasta instead 😊

Still thinking about chips and ketchup..!

maxiflump1 · 12/02/2018 18:23

Great news @LostMyBaubles

My constipation has reached crisis point! Not had a poo for 6 days so phone consultation with GP today and now have some laxido which I guzzled throughout my last pregnancy!! Early pregnancy is so glamorous!

CuppaSarah · 12/02/2018 18:33

Maxi ouch! constipation is awful, fx you get your bowels moving! It's surprising just how awful it can make you feel.

Bears did you have a nice holiday?

RedRobin being pregnant and working is a whole other ball game, it's much harder in a lot of ways, a headache at work is a hell of a lot worse than one at home.

Mona Dh is home fish and chips have been eaten and my maternity bundle from ebay has arrived, so I'm in the comfiest clothes ever! I am much more chill.

DingDong She's pretty evasive about their situation and if you suggest anything she'll ignore it. But it's her life, I've learnt I have to take a step back with her. They always muddle through.

HannahJH · 12/02/2018 18:34

Is anyone not feeling too sick...? I’m 8+3 today and I feel a bit grotty and my throat is ganky but I don’t think I feel like I’m actually going to be sick. With DD I started getting better again by ten weeks so hoping it’s the same this time!! Xx

Caimor23 · 12/02/2018 19:16

Checking in cause I haven't in awhile. Had an early scan after having a bit of a scare and everything's all good! What a relief. We got to see the heartbeat and learned we might be a week later than we thought (going on 8 weeks now instead of 9!). But geez. It was well worth the money.

@HannahHJ I seem to go up and down with the nausea depending on the day. Hopefully this is yours going away though Grin

Mrsssmith11 · 13/02/2018 07:10

@Hannahjh mine hasn't been too bad up til last week. Even at that it's not as bad as some of the other ladies here.

Got my booking appointment with the midwife today at 10.00. Excited. Expecting it to start feeling a bit more real.

Fia256 · 13/02/2018 07:32

@HannahJH I'm not either really. I go days to over a week without feeling sick at all, then one morning/middle of the night I'll randomly have to rush to the loo and throw up and then I'll be that way all day. Most the time I don't feel pregnant. Will be interesting to find out the gender this time, as the two pregnancies I was extremely sick constantly was with boys. With my dd I was just like I am this time, random days of bad sickness and the rest of the time fine!

Mrsssmith11 · 13/02/2018 07:46

@Fia it's funny you say that. I was thinking that this pregnancy is so different from dd. I was so sick with her for about 20 weeks. This time almost nothing, so wondering if its a boy this time.

LostMyBaubles · 13/02/2018 08:02

I was only ever sick with my first when I was travelling (was abroad in a car and then on the return flight home)
Never sick with the other 2 boys

This time round has been horrendous!

I would absolutely love a little girl this time.
If I have another boy I would be happy too. My own lil body guards 😁

Feeling better today thankfully
Had a glass of water this morning too!

CuppaSarah · 13/02/2018 08:12

Glad to hear it lost

My sickness this time is totally different from both my pregnancies. With dd I was sick 5.57 every morning. Then would suddenly vomit, but feel fine after. With ds I felt sick most of the time but was rarely sick.

This time I'm really ill for a few days, then feel normal for a few days. Honestly no clue from sickness what sex the baby could be. I'd quite like a girl though, as mil has three grandsons and only one granddaughter. She's said before she'd like another granddaughter, so I'd love to give her one. But personally, I don't really care, as long as they have one set of genitals I'm happy.

Shook2018 · 13/02/2018 08:23

Amazing news Lost, and to gain a whole week wow!

I knew I shouldn't have counted my eggs before they hatched guys...after a lovely weekend I've been brought down to earth by the worst sickness. Yesterday was horrible and today I'm just convulsing with nothing in my stomach except acid to come up, it's the worst :( debating throwing a sicky but so much to do in work!

Sals27 · 13/02/2018 10:57

Soooo I've just had a meeting with my boss and I completely bottled it. We have alot of uncertainty at work atm and I'm a head of dept so I know it will be the last thing needed. But I want to defer my bonus so it falls into smp so I have to do it today. Arghhhhh

CuppaSarah · 13/02/2018 11:35

I have a scan date!! Two weeks exactly from now. Got to sort out childcare as it's at an awkward time, but yay!!!

It seems because I'm not using my default hospital, my car is between my gp surgery midwives, the surgery in the next town over and the hospital, so much for continuity of care! But everyone I've spoken to was lovely so I'll forgive them Wink

dingdongdigeridoo · 13/02/2018 11:36

There’s an old wives tale that sickness is worse when expecting a girl. It certainly wasn’t this bad with DS! Then again, I was younger and more sprightly.

I’m hoping for a girl as there’s a lower chance of autism in the second if it’s a girl. But we will see.

MonaTheMoaner · 13/02/2018 11:55

Finally @CuppaSarah! Almost 13 weeks by then so a proper looking baby! I can't wait to see everyone's dating scan photos!

Day 2 of quitting smoking and I'm ready to tear my hair out. I've been assured it gets better.

blondie1001 · 13/02/2018 11:57

I wasn't sick at all with DS and this time has been hideous (and continues to be) - I would be quite happy with a girl though! I was definitely younger and a lot fitter - I was cycling 25 miles to work every day now I get out of breath walking to my car.

Yay for your scan date @CuppaSarah

RedRobin7 · 13/02/2018 12:00

@Sals27 I was so anxious about telling my boss yesterday as we have had so many team changes. Thankfully she took it well and it was a weight off my shoulders and last night I got a good sleep as I'd stopped worrying. Your baby is the most important thing, remind yourself this and be brave and do it! You've got this 😊

I'm WFH today - still on the sofa in my PJs feeling queasy and hungry. Not sure I can stomach any lunch but I know not eating will make things worse. I've only got in tomato soup (probably too rich!) or pasta (which I had yesterday!)... I wasn't feeling up to buying anything during the last food shop! Having to keep reminding myself that queasy is a good sign. Also hoping I can stomach some pancakes tonight otherwise DH will be annoyed with me if he has to make them for one!

kirinm · 13/02/2018 12:15

Morning / afternoon everyone. Still feeling horrible today.

My 12 week scan is at around 13 weeks - 12w4d by period dates or 12w6d by last scan. I'm already bricking it. Feels like there are so many hurdles to climb with this scan.

Sals27 · 13/02/2018 12:44

Thanks for the pep talk @RedRobin77 I did it. I told him! I was worried about nothing. He could not have been more thrilled for me. His smile was so big his face looked like it would split. We've worked together for a long time so I should have known he'd be lovely. Thats a relief.

And he agreed to being a bit naughty and defering my annual bonus payment so it falls into qualifying period so it was totally worth it.

Fia256 · 13/02/2018 12:47

@CuppaSarah same day as mine!

SquidgyMcPidgy · 13/02/2018 14:16

Hi everyone. Not posted for a while -been feeling so bad with nausea and working every day.. I have a proper bump already, so difficult to hide it at work, in fact they have probably guessed by now..
No date for my 12 week scan yet but have had one at 9 and one at 10 weeks which was nice.
Can’t wait for the nausea and vomiting to stop though. Last time it stopped at 13 weeks so only two to go if it’s the same this time.
One thing has been bugging me the last week - I can smell everything and the breath of the guy next desk to mine has been making me so ill. I can’t stand it,I’ve already been to hide in the toilets 3 times today 🙈😩
