@Gem173 I know, it was really nice! Sweet of her to worry about my feelings though. Yes I've had quite a few due to some spotting and recent endometriosis surgery. I had one last week and they measured me 11+3 ❤️

butterfly86 · 14/01/2018 18:25

Oh well maybe I will ask then, the nausea is constant the only relief I get is when I'm asleep but the actual vomiting is getting more frequent and I'm struggling to eat.

Expecto · 14/01/2018 18:35

Does anyone else have a longer cycle? According to the preg calculators I should be around 11 weeks but I’m pretty sure I’m 9 weeks because I have a longer cycle 🤔 Having said that I feel like I’ve been pregnant forever....today I ran from the downstairs living room all the way upstairs as the loo downstairs wasn’t vacant. Luckily I managed to get to the bathroom on time to let rip (out of my mouth that is) 🤮. Also whyyyyyy is it that I can’t wash my face without heaving...90% of my vomitting happens when I try washing my face and it’s driving me nuts...today I just refused to do it and gave myself a break!

On a different note...two nights running and I haven’t got up to pee!!!!

BertieBotts · 14/01/2018 18:50

The overall length of pregnancy won't change dependent on your cycle length but it should be counted from 2 weeks before ovulation if you know when you ovulated. So due date calculators might be off if you normally ovulate more than 14 days into your cycle, but it's only a once off thing so once you've adjusted it it will continue in proportion with that date if that makes sense.

gkeen369 · 14/01/2018 18:56

@Expecto I have a 29 day cycle however when I ovulate varies massively! With DD I ovulated early and got BFP 3 days before AF was due. With this pregnancy I thought I was way too late in my cycle to catch and I was testing negative even thou AF was 7 days late. It was 2 days later when the nausea hit that I tested again and got BFP. I'm certain at my dating scan I'll not be measuring as far along as LMP suggests x

Babydreaming · 14/01/2018 19:08

@expecto my cycle is usually 32 days so I calculated I must be 4 days behind the due date calculators...at my recent scan they thought i was 4 days ahead of where I thought I was! Confusing. 2 weeks seems a lot to be out by? That would mean your cycle would be 42 days long? I guess you will find out at the dating scan!

Thanks for the new thread!

Expecto · 14/01/2018 19:26

I’m going by my last pregnancy but then I guess two pregnancies can’t be the same. Incidentally what I found interesting was that last time they changed how many weeks pregnant I was but didn’t adjust the due date 🤔

peterpanwendy · 14/01/2018 19:26

@Expecto I have a longer cycle, some months as long as 35 days! I didn't realise how late I ovulate. Based on my LMP I should be 10 weeks but at my scan yesterday she measured me 7+3. It is completely possible with when we DTD but I wasn't expecting it! I was quite shocked to be so far behind what I thought but baby had a very strong heartbeat and the lady seemed happy. As long as the baby is healthy I don't mind when they're due! It also explains why I didn't conceive the month before and why I didn't get a BFP until 2 weeks after my missed period! If you know you have a long cycle expect them to readjust your dates.

@gkeen369 that sounds like me!

@Babydreaming that's what I thought, there was no way I could be 2.5 weeks wrong with my dates but the lady at my scan said it was perfectly possible and to not worry as long as they're healthy! I really couldn't believe it though and went over and over my TTC calendar trying to work it all out.

BertieBotts · 14/01/2018 20:11

I think if the due date isn't out by more than a week they just keep it because it's only approximate anyway.

Gizzymum · 14/01/2018 20:31

For my DC1 the due date was adjusted back by one day based on the 12w scan. He was 9 days early anyway... 🤷🏻‍♀️

Expecto · 14/01/2018 20:50

Hmm well I guess I’ll only know once I’ve had a scan but for now my guesstimate is that I’m 9 weeks. Plan is to see docs week 10 and then wait for all the appointments to come flying in. I think I’ll be considered high risk this time which I’m guessing means more peeing in pots, more scans and more blood tests. Anyone else considered high risk on here?

butterfly86 · 14/01/2018 22:27

Well I've had to admit defeat and go about the sickness, I've been given some tablets if they don't work I have to be admitted for fluids and anti sickness injection. Hopefully they work!

Hana327 · 14/01/2018 23:05

@amzq87 and @E2017 make that three of us on the same day for scans!
12 weeks can't come soon enough and hopefully by then this HG sickness will have relaxed 🤞🏻

@E2017 how has your sickness been? Sort haven't had chance to catch up with the reading on here!

Stephiewoo · 15/01/2018 07:16

Morning.

Just had the worst night sleep, woke for a pee at 1am, then dd woke me at 2, settled her down, got back into bed and DP wants a cuddle, spent the rest of the night on the sofa with the dog from 3am. I go back to work today too urghhhh!

Hope you all had a better sleep than me 😃

milney25 · 15/01/2018 08:02

@Stephiewoo oh no! I hope you manage to make it through the day!

@butterfly86 glad you've been prescribed something.

Every time I think my spotting has ended it's comes back! Has anyone else been getting it?

Sparklesdontshine · 15/01/2018 09:38

Hi ladies! I have my booking appointment this morning, makes it feel a bit more real!

Babydreaming · 15/01/2018 10:00

@stephiewoo why did you spend the night on the sofa? If my partner wanted a cuddle at 2am I’d just push him off and roll over! Haha. Hope you don’t feel too bad today!

@sparklesdontshine good luck with the booking appointment.

I’m heading to the GP soon so I can be referred to the midwives finally at 10 weeks! Hopefully I’ll get my booking appointment and scan quickly after this!

This is a bit of a gross question but something that’s been bothering me! I usually wax or use hair removal down there (for my own interests rather than partner). Since the pregnancy I’ve gone au naturale as I’ve heard you shouldn’t wax in 1st trimester and don’t want to use any chemicals in that region! Anyone doing anything else about hair removal? Or just going natural for pregnancy?

WaitingforToto · 15/01/2018 10:08

Hi @babydreaming I’ve had waxing done for years and asked my beautician last week, she’s said it’s totally fine and to continue as normal, though it might hurt a bit more than usual. She is in her forties and has kids so I trust that she knows what she’s talking about.

Aspergallus · 15/01/2018 10:12

Usually not bothered but watching with interest as it's always been a conundrum in pregnancy and it's the time I love swimming most -we have a really good aquanatal class in a lovely deep hot hydrotherapy pool locally. Wore shorts last time but they were not flattering!

Gem173 · 15/01/2018 10:31

@milney25 you aren’t the only one, last night I swear to god I went for a pee like 6 times :( then oh came to bed and cocked his leg over me like I’m a teddy bear and squashed me to death. Gunna have to invest in a pregnancy pillow I think to make a barrier between us!
@sparklesdontshine goodluck with your booking appt! Let us know how it goes
@Babydreaming
I just shaved down there yesterday with normal razor and shaving foam. Is that wrong? Had no idea..

SpriteGirl · 15/01/2018 10:33

I have already had one wax during my first trimester and got another one booked this week. I had asked and been told it's fine in pregnancy.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 15/01/2018 12:46

Waxing is fine, I had my long overdue Brazilian last week!

Stephiewoo · 15/01/2018 13:09

Survived work, DD struggling with all day transition to school bless her. DP is buying me a pregnancy pillow today so I can knock him out with it if he try's to cuddle me at night.
Still waiting for my booking in appointment.😊
