Is the naughty step big enough for two?

BadZelda · 30/04/2007 11:25

Yeah - I'm a bit concerned about neighbours during home birth. Nearly ended up having no 1 at home because the hospital kept saying I sounded too calm to be in proper lady. Ended up going in when the neighbour came round to say 'I've had 9 kids and to be honest you'd better get your arse in gear if you don't want to have that baby on the way'. Was a bit embarassing to realise she'd had to listen to me labouring for about 7 hours by then...

annobal · 30/04/2007 11:25

Whatever could you mean Foxy?

Have also rung DH hysterically (he was in a meeting at the time) he rushed home from work to find me calmly playing with the children, hormones passed . I can't even remember the reason now!!

BadZelda · 30/04/2007 11:26

Right I'm off to the post office to send 2 (count em) 2 letters. Are you all proud of me? And to the person who asked about my phobia...I think it is the letting go of the letter bit that freaks me, so I'll report back if I'm successful ;)

BadZelda · 30/04/2007 11:27

sorry that should have been 'too calm to be in proper labour'

hollyandalice · 30/04/2007 11:28

Good luck bz!

Last time I phoned dp is hysterics it was because I couldn't find maternity jeans that fitted me! He had to leave work and come and pick me up from town!

hollyandalice · 30/04/2007 11:30

I live in a semi, so there is only one set of next door neighbours to hear me. They are a young couple, so I'm sure it'll be fine if I warn them beforehand! I didn't really make much noise last time, I was too busy guzzling g&a!

sputnik · 30/04/2007 11:34

We only have a few posts left to think of a new title girls, shall we go with BadZ's?
I'd like to save the oral prostaglandins for a few weeks yet (how long do you think they would keep for in the fridge, shall I get DH to start saving them, would they freeze do you think?)

hollyandalice · 30/04/2007 11:35

I would not have THAT in my fridge! Imagine if someone came round and asked what it was!

foxybrown · 30/04/2007 11:37

agreed sputnik!

what are the storage rules - same as for expressed milk?

yuk yuk yuk my stomach is turning now!

hollyandalice · 30/04/2007 11:38

Imagine if it accidentally ended up in your tea! Bleugh, puke!!

foxybrown · 30/04/2007 11:39

ha ha ha have totally freaked out the man on the other end of the phone by bawling at him. I told him I was going to call him tomorrow if the engineer didn't show up and "bollock him personally for this shittyfuckingbollocks of a service. excuse me for swearing". I feel SO much better for swearing at a complete stranger. he took it well.

foxybrown · 30/04/2007 11:42

can you imagine how the conversation with DPs would go "darling, I REALLY need you NOW!" [purr purr]

" be a sweety and knock one out in here for me.
WHAT? You really DIDN'T think I was doing THAT did you?!"

hollyandalice · 30/04/2007 11:42

Well done foxy! I do try never to swear at these phone people, but sometimes it can't be helped!

hollyandalice · 30/04/2007 11:43

I feel sick!

sputnik · 30/04/2007 11:45

Or put it in their tea?
Agreed on thread title you mean?

foxybrown · 30/04/2007 11:48

I always make sure I'm put through to someone senior before swearing at someone. I hate call centres, because no one represents the company you actually have the shits with so its not the operators fault, but they are still the contact point. Am going to write a shitty email and ask for £100 compensation for my wasted time.

That'll cover my Kiddicare bill from last night!

foxybrown · 30/04/2007 11:48

LOL Sputnik! Yes the thread title

hollyandalice · 30/04/2007 11:51

Good idea for compensation! Make sure you put on the email that you want immediate confirmation that they have received it, otherwise they'll fob you off saying they haven't got it. I'm a pro at complaining!
