I'm going to try joining in with the rest of the world today and have a shower and get dressed.....in my lovely, new, super comfy yoga trousers from Mothercare....and (shh, don't tell DH) I'm going to homebase to get paint for the nursery....

Am thinking lemon and lilac.....as this will tie in with the blue carpet (which I'm not allowed to replace as its only been down for about 14 months)

Morning all! Eventful weekend, I see... . Foxy, thanks for info on glider chair - will go and have a look (althogh DH is still v. dubious. Thinks the last thing we need is more stuff cluttering up the place, funnily enough... ). And LOL at manual expressing of breast milk

Busy busy busy chez catsuit girl, but am slowly but surely getting work finished, getting nursery together etc. Am thinking that very soon I'm going to have to migrate to big pants (over the bump). Have so far been wearing slow slung shorty numbers two sizes up, but even they're digging in now . And I have fat feet, too. Somehow, that's the worst bit for me - I can't wear any of my shoes

Still, hope you are all rested and that the sun is shining. Loving it, but it did wake me up at 6am and coudln't get back to sleep... Probably not a bad thing to get used to right now...

Daisybump · 30/04/2007 08:52

I'm resisting the big pants....but even my shorts ones are rolling down and digging in now.....it's very very uncomfortable.

sounds like you're getting things sorted catsuitgirl, it's reassuring isn't it?...we've now moved everything into DSs new room and the crib and changing table are in bits ready to be assembled in the "nursery". New mattress arriving Thursday, so just the illicit painting job and I'll be all set. DH will be back here tomorrow evening though, so I only have two days to get it done....

its all getting exciting now isn't it?

It won't be long before one of you early Junies pop ...

I reckon in 2/3 weeks....

trace2 · 30/04/2007 09:20

monrning all!

god gota tell you this, a lady at shcool this morning had a baby yesterday a boy 7lb 6oz only found out she was pg 3 weeks ago because she was a little plump no one knew she also had peroids alway through, her last one was last week.

BadZelda · 30/04/2007 09:21

Don't say that foxy...I'm keeping my legs crossed. Six weeks to go, and Ella was 8 days early, so I ended up having a week of mat leave...wasn't enough!

We went to a 'wedding' at a pub in clerkenwell yesterday...a horribly trashy event which made me fall out with my dear one as it was not a good place to bring a child and I got knackered trying to stop Ella running under a car / drinking alcohol / damaging herself whilst he got pissed - someone still managed to burn her face with their cigarette and then made me feel like a hysterical pregnant woman because I was really pissed off with her: stupid bitch! Also impossible to get a drink of water at the bar due to 6 deep pissheads trying to throw MORE drink down their throats as fast as possible. I'm sure I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't been expecting a nice civilised wedding, but should have known better with these particular friends...oh well. At least there's no more weddings scheduled before arrival of LO so I won't get told off for being rude to people.

Anyway work day today, so I'd better try and get some stuff wrapped up or I'll still be sitting at my laptop building templates when baby is coming... Hope you're all well and keep drinking lots of water,
zx

catsuitgirl · 30/04/2007 09:27

Trace! I just don't get these stories - can only think that people who don't know they're pregnant are always moody, have large, round, hard stomachs, fat feet, and cry at the least provocation...
BZ, sounds a nightmare - you have my sympathies. But then again I'm finding just nights out when everyone's on the lash to be a bit of a trial. It's amazing how boring drunk people are when you're sober...
But ditto, must work. If I don't, I'm going to have my laptop in the delivery suite...

trace2 · 30/04/2007 09:30

lol she was always smiling at school anyway, but she was plump ,but not hard already got 4 kids all under 5 and youngest is only 1

foxybrown · 30/04/2007 09:48

she's got 4 already? and still manages to have sex? Respect!!

Daisybump · 30/04/2007 10:00

You'd think she'd know...after 4 already? i just don't get it.....

My cousin was told she'd never have kids as she ovulated about once a year and her DP has low, next to nil, sperm count.....was putting on weight and felt a bit odd so went to docs...she was about 20 weeks gone....but she just wasn't expecting it...if you already have kids, you'd think you'd recognise the other signs....monthly bleeds or not??

foxybrown · 30/04/2007 10:08

I'm terrified of having any more

BZ - that wedding sounded like Hell!

Seansgirl · 30/04/2007 10:09

BZ! Sounds like a complete day from hell to me - poor Ella! and poor you too! Fucking stupid woman! I'm surprised you didn't floor her! Very for you both.

Trace! Blimey! I am so surprised if shes got 4 how the hell could she not notice being kicked by LO? Still, I do know someone who was thin and didn't realise thought she had appendix problems and the dr said no, I think you're going to be having a baby - soon! She had it about 6 weeks later! But I still don't get it.

Go get that paint Daisy! you know it makes sense!!

Daisybump · 30/04/2007 10:12

Yikes BZ...missed your post..is your LO OK? I think I would've scratched that ladies eyes out, the mood I've been in through this PG. Sounds like one of my family parties....

Morning all, Another week begins, one week closer to mat leave! Haven't had a chance to catch up since Thursday pm and still nor read half of whats been put up since then so will catch up later this afternoon....

DKMA - just to let you know so that you can update the due date stats, I'm due 16 June.

Had an up & down weekend.. dh's birthday so very sociable meeting up with friends. Met up with ILs in evening and went for a chinese. Just have a problem with the fact that his dad is saying he doesn't want to be called Grandad, Granpa, etc but by his first name, Chris!! I mean, that's just not going to happen, but he seems insistent. Also Step Mum IL wants to be known as Nanna - not keen on this either, as in my family, the mother's mother is always Nanny. God, it's a bloody minefield. Trying not to dwell though.

Was in tears again on Friday when the builder still refused to confirm when the extension was STARTING. I just felt that no one understood how important is was that we got started asap. I am just terrified that the baby will come early and we will be living on a building site. Felt furious with DH for being so laid back about everything and just on the edge of a breakdown.
After much nagging and crying he finally called builder on Fri night and they are (hopefully) starting tomorrow. We shall see..

Anyways, must go now as still have no slpa on and need to leave for work in 5. Catch up later this pm...

kittykitt · 30/04/2007 10:19

That should say slap. Not trying to be cryptic!

BadZelda · 30/04/2007 10:19

Aww you lot are so sweet - thanks for sympathy. DH thought i was really overreacting - and wouldn't talk to me at all till this morning as he was pissed off that I complained about him being too drunk to keep a proper eye on Ella. He has been looking after her for the last 3 months as I've been working fulltime and generally is a superstar, but can't seem to understand why I wouldn't enjoy hanging out with loads of really drunk people when I'm not drinking myself. As I bf E till she was 18 months, and then got preg again almost immediately (not intentional) it's a long time since I've been a drinker and I thought it was rather unfair of him to complain that I'm a whinging bitch around drunk people...just find it hard to relax when I seem to be the only sober person around to keep an eye on my little precious and drunk people DO get really boring after a while. Moan moan rant rant - just give me some civilised and intelligent conversation - that's all I ask!

Daisybump · 30/04/2007 10:20

My thoughts on the nursery slipped out so DH with me now. He thinks I should rest, or if I have to do anything, sort the ironing...very generous of him....not!

Morning everyone!

No Bhs this morning to speak of, so hopefully they've gone away for a bit. The birth pool is still up in the living room as dd is having a great time playing in it!

BZ what a nasty wedding! I hate being around pissed up people atm, they are so annoying and smelly and have no consideration at all. Grrr...for you and your poor dd, I'd have given that woman a serious bitch slap!

at your friend trace! I kind of envy these women who don't know they are pg. It must mean they don't have ms or hb or any other nasty pregnancy things!

hollyandalice · 30/04/2007 10:22

Maybe you should start doing the nursery daisy and he will get cross with you and do it himself! Cunning!

BadZelda · 30/04/2007 10:22

Oh and Kittykitt - you are due on the same day as me - we can be due date buddies ;)

kittykitt · 30/04/2007 10:28

Hey BadZelda, you're on
Must really go now else am going to be late again!

Daisybump · 30/04/2007 10:29

Kittykit...is this his first grandchild...he's maybe just feeling a bit sensitive about his age or something and thinks it'll make him sound old. I'm pretty sure that when your LO arrives, he'll be first in the queue saying "Come to Grandad". Your step-mum-in-law is a bit tricky...can she be nanna X or whatever and you mum be just nanna?

OP posts:
hollyandalice · 30/04/2007 10:30

Lol kittykit! My dad wants my dd to call him grandad, but my dd has other ideas! She calls him dave!! It's really funny!

Daisybump · 30/04/2007 10:31

He's not actually home till Wednesday....so I have three whole days, if I get my fat ass off this chair and go do something... then if its done, and the ironing started, he can't complain now can he?

Off to post my secret shower pressie today
