I can't see myself posting just after birth either daisy! I'd prob spray milk all over the computer and get blood all over the chair!

bumperlicious · 29/04/2007 16:49

Ewwww. Thanks for that mental image Holly!

hollyandalice · 29/04/2007 16:51

Always happy to share !

hollyandalice · 29/04/2007 16:58

My birth pool didn't come with the disposable liner as although it is unused it has been inflated for a trial run. They are £20 a pop, which is nearly as much as I paid for the pool. Do you think I should buy one or would it be ok just to disinfect the pool before I use it? I am always under the impression I am being conned by such companies and £20 does seem like a lot for a bit of plastic!

foxybrown · 29/04/2007 17:02

I have no idea about the liner. Best do a trial fill without it and see if you need one.

Daisy, please can you knit me a swimming costume? Did I mention TP left all our cossies (including all 3 childrens sun-suits - and we know how cheap they are - and my maternity one!) at the swimming pool yesterday.

hollyandalice · 29/04/2007 17:05

Oh no foxy, those sunsuits are hideously expensive! Silly man!

I think I might ask about the liner on a childbirth thread. Maybe mears is about, she'd know.

foxybrown · 29/04/2007 17:09

I've got some spare dustsheets Holly

so when ARE you going to do the Ikea trek?

hollyandalice · 29/04/2007 17:19

!!

I don't know when we'll be going to Ikea now. I'm a bit pissed off with fulham for playing today, how dare they take away my dp when he's supposed to be taking me to buy picture frames and storage boxes! Obv the boys are coming next weekend (wicked), so it might be the weekend after next. Not really sure. Sorry to be so vague! Maybe I can get dp to take the boys home early on Sun and we could have our picnic on Wandsworth common and they could bugger off and play cricket or just be little shits or whatever they do. Are you free then?

foxybrown · 29/04/2007 17:22

defo around next sunday! DP off to cardiff for some rugby thingy

Daisybump · 29/04/2007 17:23

Have you phoned them Foxy...there might be a small inkling of a chance that some kind honest soul has handed them in at the office???

Alas, knitted cossies go saggy and fall off...did you never have a crocheted bikini circa 1980?

Maybe the liner just stops icky bits getting into the seams [bleargh face].....if you plan on selling it on, I'd definately get one, but if you're gonna keep it and use as a paddling pool then why bother?

OP posts:
hollyandalice · 29/04/2007 17:31

Yeah, I was gonna keep it as a paddling pool/play pen/ball pit! I'm sure just disinfecting it will be fine. I'm not dirty or infectious after all!!

Cool foxy, I shall arrange it with dp. It is a double bonus...get to meet up with you and get to get rid of the kids half a day early! Cunning. Dp can take them off to play, then take them home and come and get me after! Anyone else up for it? I think catsuitgirl, lilkel and others are in sw london. Hope the weather is good!

bumperlicious · 29/04/2007 17:39

Holly, just out of interest, does your birthpool keep the water warm or will you have to top up. I'm sure it's not going to be a problem in June, but just wondering if you have to keep it at a certain temp?

hollyandalice · 29/04/2007 17:43

You have to top it up bumper. Some of the ones you hire keep the water heated, but they are super expensive and apparently are not very hygenic as they circulate the water through the pump which can be full of bacteria! That's what I've read anyway! It has to stay around 37 degrees, but we have a condensor boiler so it won't be a problem to top it up! Hopefully the baby will be out before the water gets cold (that's what I'm hoping anyway!).

Seansgirl · 29/04/2007 18:48

Back after yummy bbq dinner and a glass of jacobs creek grenache which I am still nursing (DH on other hand is quaffing hbis second Going to attempt to catch up on today and have a quick skim read and will be back!

Seansgirl · 29/04/2007 18:49

Oh fuck! theres loads - can anyone give me the highlights?

fatcatkin · 29/04/2007 18:58

I have no idea what's been going on either!! I have skim read bits but then forgot what i'd read straightaway!! I bloody useless at minute!

derlor · 29/04/2007 18:59

(i'm still having horrible pains - 5 weeks to go?????? defo not BH - much worse than that - no regularity though - phew. maybe i'm just constipated ) feck it glass of wine will sort me out

fatcatkin · 29/04/2007 19:04

Is anyone else an OC fan? I watched the last episode on Tuesday and broke my heart crying. Just about to watch it again on E4+1.

It's Grey's anatomy night tonight too - I love it!! Sunday nights are no longer the depressing 'back to work tomorrow' affairs thety once were!

Also, just got a leaflet for a '5 meals for a tenner' chinese delivery service through the door so I don't have to cook tea! Hooray!!

It even makes up for the dreadful BHs i've suddenly developed. Been listening to natal hypnotherapy CD - think this could've had an effect??

Seansgirl · 29/04/2007 19:04

Thanks Derlor, I think you're right and give up trying to catch up. Glad Mr Delor is not in the twunt camp, thankfully Mr SG is not at the moment. But that of course change at any given moment!

fatcatkin · 29/04/2007 19:05

Sorry Derlor, x posted with you. Hope the wine sorts you out! may go and investigate our vino situation (also waddles off in direction of kitchen....)

derlor · 29/04/2007 19:06

I have really enjoyed my glass of wine, I have drunk far less than I did with DD, although I have missed it alot.

fatcatkin · 29/04/2007 19:11

I've never seen 24 or Lost. I'm hoping to watch them on dvd when on maternity leave. Or is that just naive, first timer wishful thinking ??
