derlor · 29/04/2007 14:39

oh yippee - DH was supposed to be working till 19.30 tonight but has got off early and is on his way home - think he worried about me and my pains - he's going to get food for making tea and says i've to go for a sleep when he gets in

bumperlicious · 29/04/2007 14:40

Looking forward to it Brian!

bumperlicious · 29/04/2007 14:41

Good for your DH derlor - looks like Foxy'll be handing over that fiver yet.

bumperlicious · 29/04/2007 14:41

Right, going to the garden to get some fresh air and read some trashy novels! See you chaps later.

Daisybump · 29/04/2007 14:50

Ha...he was cleaning....he's dusted and scrubbed the inside of the wardrobes in our room, which have been empty since we decorated......thanks Foxy...you can square up if we ever meet

Oh, bugger...now it means I've got no excuse not to do the bloody ironing now

Derlor...I'll bring the bucky...we can meet at Harthill Services...I feel safe leaving my HGV there

foxybrown · 29/04/2007 15:35

I'm still not convinced. Derlor, perhaps there's some sport on he's rushing for? Daisybump - have you checked the standard of cleanliness? They might be hoping for the same thing ...

I've been decorating. [grumpy fucked off face]

hollyandalice · 29/04/2007 15:38

Hi chicks! Hope everyone's had a good morning!

Yes men are only good for insemination. Mine only has to look at me to knock me up! Think two missed pills and two pregnancies and you'll get the picture!! Mine isn't very good for funding btw!!

I've been to pick up my birth pool, it's massive! Have just inflated it whilst dp snoozed on the sofa! Knackered now! He was whinging coz I'd put it in front of the tv so he made me deflate it slightly so we could move it into the other room. Kinda defeats the object of leaving it up for a couple of hours to check for punctures!

Off to make a cuppa to rehydrate myself after my sweaty pumping!

foxybrown · 29/04/2007 15:48

Hi Holly - sorry I wasn't at Ikea either - hadn't finished the decorating. just the final clean up to do now, but am exhausted (up to 11.30 painting last night, back on it 7.30 am). Wouldn't mind so much but TP here with his lazy bastard mate staying all weekend, and he was meant to do ceiling and skirting boards for me while we were swimming yesterday morning with kids, before shopping for barbeque, had 7 friends with kids round, then started on the fucking painting because he'd done fuck all except fuck up all the prep I'd spent hours doing the day before then they sat on their arses eating all the food I'd made watching the fucking cricket all day and night and reading the fucking papers this morning ... and breeeeeathe

sorry for the long rant, I really needed to have one though!

Seansgirl · 29/04/2007 15:51

Hi girls! Not had time to check up on thread, but gather most are feeling tired/grumpy (and in Hollys case sweaty!) just to add I am with you all on tired and grumpy. Though feeling pleased as some progress made this weekend in that Beans room is painted, and changing unit is in, nothing else, but its a start. Have moved into dinning room so sitting room can be decorated this week! Hooray! And finally am getting rid of hideous black dinning table!

Speak later!

foxybrown · 29/04/2007 15:52

Good work Seansgirl. Hope your DH was more helpful than mine. The Twunt.

hollyandalice · 29/04/2007 16:05

My dp is currently teaching dd to say come on fulham! She is now running round the house like a crazed lunatic shouting "come on fulham"!!

Lazy twunt foxy! Mine has been pissing me off too. I told him yesterday I wanted to get up early to go to the car boot sale (just to look around, selling can wait a couple of weeks). So he comes to bed at gone 2 and is now knackered and has spent the past 2 hours sleeping and snoring on the sofa whilst I do chores! He has now woken up to watch the football and is being a moody bastard! TWUNTS!

hollyandalice · 29/04/2007 16:07

Well done on the decorating seansgirl and foxy! I think we have finished for the time being, but I want our bedroom done before baby arrives so I can have a nice relaxing haven rather than a nasty, flowered border, nothing matching, messy hole!

foxybrown · 29/04/2007 16:20

TP has at least made some effort - he knows he's being a bit shit. Its his mate thats annoying me more, 'cos TP has paid for EVERYTHING this weekend - his mate is on benefits and wasn't going to come at all because he had no money, but TP had already bought the tickets to a gig on Friday night - so he was going to give his mate some money for his help.
His mate is one of life's 'takers' and I'm so fucking annoyed that he has a chance to give something back and has just taken more.
And I know tomorrow evening he'll call me at tea time wanting some counselling and to apologise, and I'm going to tell him what I think.
He does have his issues, and up until now I've been sympathetic and supported him.
Sorry, I'm always ranting.

Daisybump · 29/04/2007 16:21

Oooh they have been a bad lot this weekend haven't they...Mr Derlor excepted!

Cleanliness is OK Foxy...it's passing muster anyway, but we'll know soon enough when there are white marks all over my black jumpers!!

Been sitting in the garden doing my knitting this aft...it's lovely here...with my pj bottoms rolled past my knees to let a bit of sun in, and my boobs practically on display...I'm such a classy bird me.

Finished my pram blanket, but I'm going to do the edge in satin ribbon...it's lovely and soft and gorgeous and LO is going to love it.

Clever Daisybump! and so talented too

I do wish I could make things. I bought a book on knitting, but have yet to find somewhere that sells wool!

bumperlicious · 29/04/2007 16:29

Sounds fab daisy, wish I had the patience to do that. Did get MIL to teach me how to knit a few months ago, but quickly lost interest as patterns look too complicated and all this knitting a test square to see how big your stitches are seemed like a bit of a faff (is that really necessary?) What sort of stitch is your blanket and how long has it taken you?

Foxy, sorry to hear about TP and TP's friend. But good on you with the painting! it's all I can do to even put laundry on at the moment.

Daisybump · 29/04/2007 16:34

They have a limited stock in Hobbycraft, if there's one near you. John Lewis are good and I miss living in Edinburgh for that very reason...think my nearest one is Manc. I'm sure there are other decent shops around, but none near me unfortunately......

oops, how am I???

OP posts:
foxybrown · 29/04/2007 16:36

I am taking my grumps elsewhere from this thread of lovliness.

BUT you should see the state of my house as i've not been able to do anything else this weekend.

xx

foxybrown · 29/04/2007 16:37

ha ha ha, talking knitting! makes a change from poos and sex toys

Daisybump · 29/04/2007 16:40

I never do tension squares...can't see the point.

The blanket has got hearts and stars on it in alternate squares and they are done in moss stitch on a stocking stitch background....it took ages, but it's been a bit stop/start. Might do a bigger one for the cot, but I would use yarn that could go in the machine....next project is an all in one and cardi in lovely lilac wool...this child had better be a girl or I'm in trouble!!

Off to supervise DH in the re-arranging of wardrobes, or he'll put all my stuff too high up for me to reach...

She only had the bub yesterday and is on here posting away merrily today....can't see me being that oncontrol or organised to have the time.
