Hey all,
Had m/w appt today - another new face , now makes 6! 2 appts ago had bloods taken, last time said I'd had no results back & was told that means everything fine. Now this new one wonders why I had no results so called to get them. Turns out I am low in haemoglobin/ iron deficient . So obviously I have been for weeks on end and didn't know it. Am so pissed off with inefficient care.Feel am slipping through the cracks cos never see the same person twice- makes me wonder what else I should have had checked but haven't.

Sorry - rant over!

Daisybump · 27/04/2007 17:49

Channel 4 are doing a programme on maternity services and are looking to speak to women with babies due in Apirl/May.....maybe Tallulah and Bumper should talk to them anyway.....there is a bit about it and an e-mail address on this website

Give 'em hell girls...

That's terrible Tallulah. How many more are "slipping through the cracks"?

Daisybump · 27/04/2007 17:51

Has she prescribed some iron tablets for you tallulah? Are you in London?...you guys there seem to get very shitty care indeed.

I need to get some more trousers....these jeans are underbump which need a belt to keep them up....its now getting very uncomfortable as the belt/button digs in and if I loosen the belt the blardy things fall down. Seriously worried that bub is gonna have a big dent in the back of her head where the buckle sits.....aargh..didn't want to spend any more money on maternity stuff.

someone remind me why I'm doing this again when I can't stand the two little spawn-of-the-devils I already have.

Why do they have to break the door off the fucking rabbit hutch on a daily basis when I am cooking.

Need chocolate and ... cup of tea I think (sad).

Seansgirl - re the blood. Also TMI but I keep getting a little tiny bit every now and then too. Maybe it's a normal thing and the skin "down there" is thinner than normal etc.[sorry]TMI, but you're not alone (I also panic every time)

Daisybump · 27/04/2007 18:17

I'd read that your cervix can bleed a bit after intercourse as its a bit softer and more tender in pregnancy...so, without wanting to seem nosey about your sex life ...could that be what's causing it?...and is it def from the front and not the back?....one poor lady on the pg after mc thread thought she was having another mc...until she realised it was piles!! What a subject at teatime....

On a slightly different note.....saw this referred to on another thread and just had to look. I'm absoultely intrigued in a car crash kind of way....any thoughts....does anyone use one of these?....would you admit it if you did?....

I'm off out !! Have my new dress on and leggings !! It took me blardy ages to find leggings that weren't one size (eg. for skinny 14 year olds). Ended up getting them from Tesco!!

Speak later byee!!

annobal · 27/04/2007 18:51

Have fun!

Seansgirl · 27/04/2007 19:24

Have fun Holly! And thanks Annobal! Am expecting my first shop in morning so will save that for next time. Wine! mmmmm.....

(TMI alert!) Daisy, good point about front/back had that thought too. I'm not entirely sure IYSWIM, as have not got piles but a bit off tummy upset in the week. But, definately not sex (unfortunately)! Ria, I'm glad I'm not the alone (in a nice way not that I'd wish it on anyone else), I thought too all that extra blood in that area too. One of my other theories was have an on/off thrush tingling, I have had small cuts from that when I had it a few ago. I'm going to try so canesten I think. No other spots though. Thanks girls.

Right, off to discuss paint colours, blind material and quote for new lawn! Oh deep deep joy! Wish me luck!

BTW Ria, My DD has been driving me mad this afternoon, she definately has had the pig in her today. Only hope she is not like this tomorrow as we have busy (but boring) DIY ahead!

Daisybump · 27/04/2007 19:25

MMMM...the galaxy chocolate man has arrived (said with mouth full of galaxy chocolate). Off to be pampered by my DH.

Oooh, just been talking to Marslady...she is as lovely as we all thought and she's made me feel much better about my achey painy body. DH under orders to get my birthing ball sorted...currently in garage under pile of crap and we don't know where the pump is.....

Just checked out your link Daisy....yuk! no thanks!

Perhaps with the cervix being softer LO bouncing on it could have same effect, LO def doing the jig on there at mo.

foxybrown · 27/04/2007 19:30

Am i all alone tonight then?

might actually get the sugarsoaping done then!

annobal · 27/04/2007 19:32

Seansgirl - sounds awful, poor you. Have also been suffering from the dreaded thrush - have totally altered diet to try to get rid of it (including no sugar, wheat, dairy or yeast). Can you get a swab done to check?

Daisy, do you ever wonder who thinks up these things??

Anyone else getting really strong BHs?

justbeme · 27/04/2007 19:33

Hi - yes have got quite strong BH - esp when walking and then it really slows me up. re the Thrush, the midwife prescribed Canesten tablet and cream. Seems to have worked.

pinguthepenguin · 27/04/2007 20:01

Hi Ladies

Totally random post,(although I've been following the june thread for a while!) but are there any June mums to be in the Manchester area? I'm hoping to meet some new mums, especially of the variety I've been seeing on here!

Pingu x

annobal · 27/04/2007 20:05

Hi Pingu - welcome to the June thread

JBM - I find I don't get a great response from Canestan HOWEVER have just tried the 10% cream and now been going for 4 days without a twitch (or itch

riabutterflew · 27/04/2007 20:13

I hope that means we are the type of people who other people desperately want to be friends with pingu!

Sadly am at the other side of the country, but am up north.

I am still quite wound up but generally, rather than just with the little millstones. Will be glad when they are in bed tonight though. And am not looking forward to the weekend.

pinguthepenguin · 27/04/2007 20:19

riabutterflew

Thats what I meant obviously!
I'm from Ireland originally, and most of my friends with kids are still there, so not much chance of meeting them for a quick coffee (or beer!)
This is my first, which is why I was hoping to meet newbies before the bambino comes.

riabutterflew · 27/04/2007 20:27

I get confused where everyone is from. Actually I get confused as a general thing!
I think someone is from Cheshire but I can't remember who - sorry guys.
Which part of Ireland are you from pingu?

pinguthepenguin · 27/04/2007 20:34

Derry, the north (scary derry!)
Been in Manc a couple of years, but none of the friends I have here have kids. I feel I would bore them to death if I tried to talk this kinda stuff with them- not, mind you, that baby stuff is all I talk about!
i swear.....

foxybrown · 27/04/2007 20:35

Welcome Pingu! When are you due? Am in London myself and like Ria, I can't remember who's where! But then I can't remember where I put my kids at the moment.

Like you Ria, am also feeling very wound up all the time too.

"the little millstones" LOL - perfectly sums them up! (Children in general I mean, not specifically yours!)

I seem to wake up wanting it to be bedtime again at the moment.

foxybrown · 27/04/2007 20:37

I'm meant to be moving to Manchester in 4 years time.

Seansgirl · 27/04/2007 20:40

LOL Foxy! Four years time nnot much help to Pingu! I am in Brum Pingu, so thankfully Foxy won't be able to kick me from London for saying that!
