That Simon is creepy isn't he?

AIBU to think that children's TV presenters should be no more than children themselves so that they can relate on a more realistic level?...There's definately something odd about a 40 year old singing "what's it like to be an animal in the jungle?" Unless of course its to their own children in the privacy of their own home...

Well done sputnik! I thought little puppy was the least original dog's name, looks like you've beat me!

Dp wants to get two chickens and keep them in an eglu ! It's become the most important thing he wants to buy! Even more than the Plasma TV!!

hollyandalice · 27/04/2007 13:00

Lol daisy, my godmother (the same one that had goats) also had a cat called boy! We used to call my brother boy when he was little, but it soon passed! Dp and I have this habit of calling Alice baby and we can't stop! She's going to be like her from dirty dancing!!

sputnik · 27/04/2007 13:04

I think I've mentioned before our friend who's name is Bambino? I think me and DH have to pull our fingers out on the baby naming front or this one'll end up being Kid2, or something

Daisybump · 27/04/2007 13:04

I want an eglu...I want an eglu....Dh will think I've gone really potty now...

hollyandalice · 27/04/2007 13:08

That is so cute sputnik, but I suppose if you are Italian Bambino must sound a bit odd!!

Daisy aren't eglu's cool?! I want some little bantams and have tiny eggs!! They are bloody expensive though. They are sometimes on ebay, might get dp one for christmas!

foxybrown · 27/04/2007 13:09

If you all can manage children, animals and plants you are doing better them me!!

BadZelda · 27/04/2007 13:09

heh - my cat is called 'pish wish' - she won't answer to anything else. I didn't name her - inherited her from my Mum's house. She came to catch mice and didn't want to leave.

BadZelda · 27/04/2007 13:10

Really struggling with work today...all this talk of new dresses makes me want to go shopping!

sputnik · 27/04/2007 13:11

You'd end up wanting to let them out then they'd wreck your garden, shit everywhere and not want to go back in, believe me. I am so OVER domestic fowl

foxybrown · 27/04/2007 13:11

go zelda. shop. enjoy.

foxybrown · 27/04/2007 13:11

Oh. I thought you were talking about children there Sputnik!

sputnik · 27/04/2007 13:16

I had bantams, they were nice but stubborn buggers.

Foxy, 9 years ago I lived in a veritable menagerie (haven't mentioned the 7 cats yet), millions of plants etc, now I am down to 1 geriatric dog and 3 plants, and one of those is on the way out.

DD is thriving though

Daisybump · 27/04/2007 13:17

PMSL foxy.....but you may have a point..DS doesn't differentiate between lawn and flower bed..

LOL BadZ...bet thet's embarrassing when you have to book her in at the vet.

Some friends of mine have got a son called Sonny...I thought it was a nickname, but noooo, that's what's on the birth certificate.

sputnik · 27/04/2007 13:18

LOL Foxy.
DD is still in napies but when she gets taken out of them this summer that'll be her!

Daisybump · 27/04/2007 13:20

One thing i never understood about keeping chickens....how comes they lays eggs without the services of a cockerel?????? Is it just like mammal egg production, but on a slightly different scale?

OP posts:
hollyandalice · 27/04/2007 13:21

Yes daisy! Eggs are chicken periods! Seriously! If you have a rooster your eggs will have chicks in! Not too appetising!

Daisybump · 27/04/2007 13:24

Put like that I'm beginning to regret the frittata I had for lunch [sick face]

OP posts:
sputnik · 27/04/2007 13:24

Basically, yes Daisy. You wouldn't want to be eating the fertilised ones. You are meant to get better results though if you kind of show them a cockerel once in a while so they don't lose heart.

Daisybump · 27/04/2007 13:25

Right...the in-laws are on their way over so I'd better do last nights washing up before they get here....

OP posts:
hollyandalice · 27/04/2007 13:26

Daisy, you are so like me it's scary! Washing up isn't really my thing either!

Daisybump · 27/04/2007 13:27

My bump feels like I've been doing sit-ups for a week....stop making me laugh

OP posts:
hollyandalice · 27/04/2007 13:28

! Half way through our thread already in 2 days!!

Daisybump · 27/04/2007 13:29

I know Holly...I so want a dishwasher since mine is currently in Lincolnshire four nights a week . Defo having one before the baby is born...but it will involve a minor re-modelling of our kitchen to fit it where the plumbin is.
