Well in that case it's probably not much of a threat! Your car? Sofa?

CaptainDippy · 26/04/2007 11:30

Awwww, maveta - that is lovely - STOP IT - I have two girls already .....

"They do not need more pretty clothes. They do not need more pretty clothes....."

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 11:31

Ooh, does your DH have any electrical equipment my waters could break over? DH would be devastated if anything happened to his new speakers!

CaptainDippy · 26/04/2007 11:31

Car's a shit heap that needs replacing. Don't own a sofa.

Keep trying ......

CaptainDippy · 26/04/2007 11:32

Mmmmm, not sure - I'll ask ....

maveta · 26/04/2007 11:33

[stage whisper] Over her computer Katy.. think woman, THINK!

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 11:33

Well that's going to be an interesting question to explain the background!
-Do you have anything you wouldn't want my virtual friend's waters breaking over?
-Erm, what?

CaptainDippy · 26/04/2007 11:34

I think he'd be pretty upset if you gushed over his beloved GameCube.

I, on the otherhand, would be absolutely delighted.

Bring it on .....

Keep trying .....

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 11:34

maveta you're a genius! Of course!

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 11:34

We already have it covered [smug]

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 11:35

Obviously I'm not really up to travlleing so I will have to post my waters to you in a waterproof jiffy bag and you will have to PROMISE to tip the contents over your PC!

CaptainDippy · 26/04/2007 11:36

HOW THICK ARE WE!!!!!?

Now, if you threatened to come and gush on my computer so I couldn't go on MN, THAT would be a real threat ......

CaptainDippy · 26/04/2007 11:38

Only just seen maveta's post ....

DH wants to use computer and he is getting agitated .... he just said: "You're talking crap to people who don't really exist."

HOW very dare he!!!!!!!!!?

CaptainDippy · 26/04/2007 11:39

Going to go and sit on him and squash him flat then read my book for a wee while .... "See" you later ...

.... and if he tries to post to you while I am gone - give him some PG hormones ....

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 11:41

I exist!!
(But I can kind of see what he means!!)

elkiedee · 26/04/2007 11:42

Maveta, Katy, you two still threatening to queue jump? I was due on Tuesday, it's not fair!

I managed to sleep reasonably for once, though with regular interruptions, particularly at 5 am when an alarm clock which has run down decided to come back to life and wake me up. It took a while for me to remember that I needed to do more than put it on snooze!

My new mobile, ordered yesterday, arrived at 8.30 am, fortunately I heard the knock just in time to run down and sign for it. But I think Mike's going to have to help me learn to operate it - phone numbers, texts, camera, music phone, the lot. I'm good with computers but mobiles really daunt me.

maveta · 26/04/2007 11:54

HEY! I totally exist! Humpf.

Hi Elkiedee - I wouldn´t pay much attention to Katy and I, all signs seem to have stopped so it was probably all a storm in a teacup which will flare up again at - oooh - about midnight tonight? Just enough to keep us up all night and knackered the next day, you know.. besides for me it would only be like a teeny little queue nudge cos I was due yesterday..

Not heard from Emmymummy.. what is she doing [suspicious]

Bugmum · 26/04/2007 11:54

Had the MW visit this morning for third attempt at a sweep - and not only did she manage it, but she found that I am 2-3 cms dilated!!!!!!!! With DS, I was well into established labour before getting any dilation at all. This time, so far, just period-type cramps and stuff; did have a show yesterday. So it looks like I might go into labour by the weekend, and so avoid the consultant appointment on Monday!! Oooh, wish me luck.

And vibes and luck to all you others waiting.

40+4
xx

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 12:05

Good luck and labour vibes Bugmum!

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 12:05

I know maveta, shall we go and be virtual somewhere else???

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 12:06

Oi elkie, I was due last Monday

elkiedee · 26/04/2007 12:19

Sorry Katy, you're ahead of me then. takes a step back. But you'll probably all be ahead of me.

I was pretty annoyed this morning because my dad rang up to ask how I'm coping. Well, I'm fed up but I don't want him to come round when I'm on my own, I find it's much better with Mike here to make tea and conversation.

My mum and my boyfriend are lovely, but I find my dad a bit trying, he makes me feel fussed. He announced he was leaving my mum shortly before I was born, and we've always been in touch, but I was shocked to discover after I got pregnant how I feel about that. I was my mum's first baby and I think Mikey was startled by some of the fears that were coming out.

I think we'll need to invite my dad round at the weekend...

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 12:24

Oh elkie! It sounds as though he's (your dad) is trying to make up for that but suffocating you in the process!
I know what you mean about having other people there - sometimes it's nice just to zone out and listen to the conversation going on around you rather than feeling you have to be a part of the small talk.

elkiedee · 26/04/2007 12:28

Katy/Maveta, have just read your is this it thread, how frustrating! Hope we'll all get our babies turning up soon...

maveta · 26/04/2007 12:36

Lots of labour vibes for you Bugmum! And all of us, in fact...

Elkiedee - I can imagine you would have all sort of weird feelings rearing their head that you´d never given much time to before. My Dad similarly ´fusses´ and makes me feel a bit suffocated sometimes aswell.. so I know how you feel on that score.

I feel really disheartened by people saying it´s normal to go through this for a few weeks before giving birth. I know it´s true and it´s best to be prepared but I think it´ll really wear me down if that´s the case..
