runnyhabbit · 26/04/2007 10:42

Morning all

Sending you all labour vibes

My own personal top tip for starting labour is to leave it til your due date to hire a tens machine. Sure fire way to trigger labour well, it worked for me........

geordiemacminx · 26/04/2007 10:42

Hey Katy - I'm still here without baby too.. contractions (pah if you can een call them that) stopped about 1 this morning. I was quite active yesterday, so hoping that brought them on... so I'm going to go and wash my car this morning!!!

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 10:47

gmm you have lots of energy!!

geordiemacminx · 26/04/2007 10:48

Not really - just getting desperate, hoping that by doing lots of stuff it might bring on labour!!! plus my car is minging from my eating too many maccy d's in it...

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 10:50

Think I need to go back to sleep for a bit, might have the energy to at least bounce on my birthing ball
Anyone heard from Dippy this morning?

heidle · 26/04/2007 10:59

......aha runnyH, and there was me just looking at tens hiring websites! am due tomorrow, so might wait until then to order.
any recommendations for a tens hiring website?

might go and mow the lawn and see if that helps..........[waddle waddle]

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 11:03

I've been happy with the Boots one so far (although haven't actually used the machine)
I called them on my due date to say I'd gone overdue and she extended it to the 21st, no problem. It's £30 and you get a huge post paid envelope to return it, which is useful as getting into town is a PITA for us. You also get spare batteries

CaptainDippy · 26/04/2007 11:07

Did someone mention me!!!?

Woke up at 2am, was up for an hour, desperate to be sick, but couldn't Felt so horrid and uncomfortable - woke up this morning feeling like absolute rubbish - am in a lot of pain - all around my abdomen, but my upper back as well - Don't think it is labour (); but have definitely over-done it, me thinks - going to try and relax more today ..... Feeling very heavy, twingy and sore ......

Come on baby!!

Sounds like I am not the only one experiencing all this sort of stuff ..... [[[hugs]] & to all. xxxx

CaptainDippy · 26/04/2007 11:09

Ooooh, Happy Due Date To Me!!

No one to share it with either as Bubbaloo very rudely decided to sprog early.

maveta · 26/04/2007 11:18

Happy Due Date Dippy!!

Well I am still here too, without baby.. in fact it all seems to have stopped, more or less. Which is more disappointing than I can say.

Feeling quite tired after being up most of the night but have had a couple of little cat naps this morning so could be worse! Have bathed, shaved legs, washed hair, put on laundry and think I´m going to vacuum and mop floors now to keep busy and keep my mind off it. Then probably just about time to flop on the sofa and watch a dvd.

No idea what to make for lunch, we´ve got NO food in the house whatsoever and I have no intention of leaving this house in the next few hours to go shopping. think think think...

heidle · 26/04/2007 11:18

thanks katy, hope you need it soon

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 11:20

Happy due date Dippy!
maveta - you must be exaggerating, you must have SOMETHING edible in the house? Tell us and we'll concoct a masterpiece (don't look at the other thread about lazy chilli otherwise you'll find out how unlikely that is!)

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 11:21

Could have done with it last night but DH was asleep! The only places I could have fitted it were where it tells you not to - on my abdomen, over my temples or over my eyes!!!! (Over the ears is apparently OK!) Would PMSL to see a heavily pregnant woman wandering through the hospital with TENS pads over her eyes!

maveta · 26/04/2007 11:22

Yes Katy, you´re right, I just went and looked and although the cupboard is rather bare I think I could make some kind of tomato sauce to eat with pasta and maybe chuck in some tuna or bacon or red pepper or summat. Oh it all just sounds like such an effort.

We have cheese. Maybe dh could bring home a baguette and we can just have cheese baguettes??? [hopeful]

CaptainDippy · 26/04/2007 11:23

LOL katy! You are almost as crazy as me ....

maveta - go out for lunch, take a book, relax .....

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 11:23

That sounds nice - could he stretch to ham or salad to go with the cheese?

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 11:24

Dippy, it does sound as though you need to take it easy today! That's an order! Or I will come over and have my waters break on the newest carpet in your house. (I wish!)

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 11:25

I can't get over how swollen my ankles and feet are!

maveta · 26/04/2007 11:26

I shall investigate further...

Yes Dippy, do try to take it easy, sounds like you are a bit delicate today. [hug]

maveta · 26/04/2007 11:28

When I see things like this I really wish I had a little girl to buy for. HOW ADORABLE??!

CaptainDippy · 26/04/2007 11:29

Thank you petals - you are both v.sweet!

katy - Is that a threat or a promise!!? - The carpets in my house are foul and need replacing - I would welcome your spontaneous gush of water anytime!!
