Just popping on quickly while DH is dropping girls at nursery - then wants the computer back.....

Oooooh, Bugmum - Great stuff honey - Hope stuff starts happening for you really soon!

Come on babies - swim, swim, swim .....

Perhaps we really have scared them off with the threat of the Stealth Polar Bear!!!?

Right - back to unloading washing machine and drying up dishes .....

Whoops!

Emmymummy · 26/04/2007 13:33

Ha ha haaaa! You all thought I was off having a baby! Yeah, right, this little one is just too comfy.

Just thought I would make you laugh - dh had jinxed me by putting some champagne in the fridge (he must have done it last night). No wonder I didn't have a baby last night.

Should I take it out and hide it?

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 14:01

No, get your DH to drink some of it so he's too drunk to drive. You're guaranteed to go into labour then.

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 14:08

Have just been to the co-op, they've just re-opened after refurbishment. There were balloons everywhere that they were handing out to kids. I hate balloons, can cope with them blown up and about the place but hate watching people blow them up, it's that waiting for the bang thing. Anyway, at the till, one of the girls was blowing up a balloon. I'm an adult, I can handle it. As I was being served, and having a minor contraction, the woman serving me said "See how far you can blow that up before it pops"!
Aargh. I almost asked her to stop, but managed just to avoid watching her. Which made me look really rude as I also had to avoid eye contact with the woman serving me!

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 14:44

maveta - are you still about?

Eddas · 26/04/2007 14:46

Katy, really all that way

Can you hear ds now? He's crying for his bottle

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 14:53

No, cos he doesn't have a scream like a foghorn like his mum

Eddas · 26/04/2007 15:00

Let's wait to see what you sound like at pushing time

CaptainDippy · 26/04/2007 15:01

I hate balloons too katy - they really scare me!!

Hello Emmy - was hoping you might be off having a baby, but no such luck, eh!!?

I cannot bend down AT ALL now - It hurts too much .....

Really hoping these minor contractions are leading to something katy - sounds exactly how my labour with my 1st started - hope that gives you hope!!

CaptainDippy · 26/04/2007 15:03

I moo like a heifer!!

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 15:05

Eddas - have you seen that episode of Friends? That woman who goes mmm-mmm, that'll be me
Dippy, is it back pain or abdomen pain? (and do you mind me calling you Dippy, or would you prefer 'Captain'?)
How long was your 1st labour then?

Eddas · 26/04/2007 15:08

I LOVE freinds! With dd was feeling very much like Rachael, I came in first and she's off before me especially when one woman came in was examined and straight to the delivery suite, i'd been there hours by then, hours

Can just hear you, 'ermhumpf, that was a strong one!!!'

geordiemacminx · 26/04/2007 15:11

Hey ladies - nothing exciting to report here - few little twinges but well I feel as far away from going into labour as it is possible to feel I think!!!

Still, I've washed and cleaned my car - cant have the little one coming home in a dirty car!!!

Oh and I have organised some people to come round and quote for some gardening work!!!

Got a friend that I used to work with coming round later on so best get the hoover but over and some make up on else she might get frightened!!!

CaptainDippy · 26/04/2007 15:15

It's abdomen pain and upper back pain - I understand the abdomen pain in conjunction with labour / childbirth; but the UPPER back pain ....

Dippy is fine - "Captain" makes me feel a little 'gay'!

Don't even go there with my 1st labour ...... it was 40 hours, I'm afraid - I'm sure yours will be much quicker. It had a lot to do with DD1 being back-to-back and having an enormous head; also having a bitch of a MW who scared me and being on my back for the entire labour.

Ahem.

Sorry.

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 15:16

Have fun gmm.
Am very impressed at your car cleaning, I might be just about to start the basic tidying I meant to do this morning!

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 15:17

That sounds a bit of a nightmare with your MW!
But the pains that came and went were the start of something were they?

CaptainDippy · 26/04/2007 15:17

Hoovering has been done ..... and not by me!!

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 15:17

I take it the midwife told you to stay on your back?

CaptainDippy · 26/04/2007 15:21

Yes, the coming and going pains started at about 4am and continued all day .... they only really increased in intensity at about 7/8pm - I had a bath and the contractions went completely nuts - my stomach was contorting like something out of Alien ... and I though water was suppose to slow everything down .....

Went into hospital about 2am, only 2/3cm dilated, so they sent me home - Think my waters went just before I left hospital (had a big wee, but realise in hindsight, it was a bit TOO BIG ) Back in hospital about 5am, 7cm, into delivery ...... born at lunchtime .......

geordiemacminx · 26/04/2007 15:24

40 hours??? Dear god!!!!

To be honest I didnt mind cleaning the car - went to one of those jet wash thingys - think I amused the locals though.. 9 month pregnant lady battling with a power washer thing... still at least its done!!!

Its the baby show up here this weekend - am hoping and praying that I will be far too busy having baby/being at home with baby to attend... but at the moment its not looking promising. still there is supposed to be loasds of freebies... I wonder what I would get if my waters went there...

CaptainDippy · 26/04/2007 15:24

Well, she didn't encourage me to try any other positions and for some "goodness knows why" reason decided that it was a really good idea for me to be strapped up to a monitor for my entire labour ..... Realise now, that wasn't necessary AT ALL and I would have been soooooo much better off without the monitor on, up on my knees - Think it would have halved my labour at least .....

CaptainDippy · 26/04/2007 15:26

OOoooooh, baby freebies, GMM - You must go and gush there if you haven't already had him / her!
