Somersetsinger that's exactly what we have done. DS started his funded hours this month, but we are still saving the maximum child care vouchers so we have a stash once this one needs to start nursery. There is always a way of getting by.

Lovely scan picture babydreaming

Hortonlovesahoo · 10/01/2018 14:50

@babydreaming: that’s a lovely little picture

@kathrynalicem : I’m so sorry that you’re having to go through this :(

Welcome to all the newbies :)

Touching wood, everything is looking a little brighter and I’ve stopped bleeding but just have a little cramp. Please keep thinking sticky thoughts

florafoxtrot · 10/01/2018 14:51

Lovely scan phone babydreaming and very reassuring on the symptoms front too!

I'm still feeling sick and DH says I'm pretty pale at times but I've not been sick since last Friday which has been worrying me a lot. Mostly I've just aversions to things though, can't hack the idea of tea or coffee at present!

My maternity package is not bad, I get full pay and benefits for 5 months and then 4 months at statutory - plus I keep my car allowance for the full 9 months which is £450 a month. We had been saving towards IVF when we fell pregnant though so happily we've got savings to use.
My work does childcare vouchers too so will have to find out how that works!

Early scan on Saturday - really hope everything is OK!

Lphil93 · 10/01/2018 16:37

Was sent to EPAC today as a precaution... was told my baby has stopped growing and there's no heartbeat...

Im devastated but a small part of me holds out hope for next week when I return to check. This happened to a friend and she was later told they got it wrong.

💔

agteacht · 10/01/2018 18:53

Oh no lphil
You are in my thoughts Thanks

milney25 · 10/01/2018 18:59

@Lphil93 I am so sorry to hear your sad news. We are all here for you if you need to talk Thanks

Lphil93 · 10/01/2018 19:01

Does anyone think it would be worth going private to check? Xx

peanut2017 · 10/01/2018 19:19

@Lphil93 I would do whatever makes you feel somewhat better and if that's another opinion we'll then that's what you should do. Such a shit situation

milney25 · 10/01/2018 19:31

@Lphil93 I agree, I think you have to do whatever your heart tells you. But either way, it sounds like they want to see you again next week so you'll get a follow up

Gizzymum · 10/01/2018 19:57

@WaitingforToto I'm worrying about nursery fees too. I'll just be getting maternity allowance as I'm doing back to back mat leaves, plus I want my 7mth old to go to nursery a couple of days a week from about June/July so will have to pay for that whilst on mat allowance. Not quite how sure we will manage but I'm sure we will. Somehow.

@Babydreaming I'm so jealous of your early scan! I've got my early one in 2 weeks

@Lphil93 so sorry to hear that. 🤞🏻for your next scan.

I've also got my 12w scan date through for 6th Feb when I think I'll be 12w +2

Whichoneisit · 10/01/2018 19:59

Lphil Sorry you’re facing uncertainty. I can’t see your stats on the list. Do you know when your LMP was? How long your cycles were? When you ovulated? Where they thought the baby was measuring? Was there a sac? A fetal pole?
Was the scan internal? I think scans can be as much as 5 days out early on. I’m glad they’re getting you back for another check.
In terms of a private scan, I guess that would depend how certain you were of your dates and whether or not you feel you can hang on for another week.
Sending you lots of strength.

Lphil93 · 10/01/2018 20:11

@Whichoneisit I'm nearly 100% sure on dates. I went for a scan private at 7 weeks... everything was progressing normal with a strong heartbeat. I had both US and transvaginal scans on NHS today and at first they couldn't even find the baby...

Lphil93 · 10/01/2018 20:12

@Whichoneisit they confirmed there was a baby but couldn't hear heartbeat. I've read stories of people who said their placenta was blocking the heartbeat....

Whichoneisit · 10/01/2018 20:15

That must have been worrying for you. Was the person a trainee? Did they do any measurements?

Hortonlovesahoo · 10/01/2018 20:16

@lphil93: I’m so sorry. I really hope they’re wrong. If they’re going to scan anyway, Id be tempted to wait but personally I’m not sure I could wait and would possibly pay for a private scan. Have your pregnancy symptoms abated or are they still there? That’s what I was told as an indication for miscarriage.

I’ve had no bleeding today but the nausea has been insane 🤢🤢

Hortonlovesahoo · 10/01/2018 20:17

Lphil93: where was the baby? The placenta blocking is only really if the baby is planted on the back wall (so not front facing). They struggle to size mine every time as little bean is stuck at the back

milney25 · 10/01/2018 20:19

@Lphil93 I think I recall you saying a little while back you were 9 weeks, did they tell you how close the baby was to where you thought? What led you to go to the EPU?

WaitingforToto · 10/01/2018 20:29

Thinking of you @Lphil93 I hope you get some more positive news soon. Have the extra scan if it will help your peace of mind, the stress of not knowing will do you no good at all xx
