@Gem173 🤣🤣 sounds pretty balanced to me!! Love it!

Hortonlovesahoo · 05/01/2018 20:06

@Spritegirl: it’s all about location I’ve read so it could be yours are in an “ok” location?

Strawberrylemonade: you’re right :-) positive thinking!

@rainbowsandunicorns: I remember. It’s good that it’ll be absorbed for you.

I’ve been losing about a pad an hour full of blood. I’ve managed some food, a nap and am resting on the couch.

Isn’t it crazy when something like this happens, you realise how much you want it?

We call ours “Charlie”. I did the Chinese prediction with my first and it was wrong (predicted boy and I had a girl)

Gem173 · 05/01/2018 20:16

@hortonlovesahoo
That sounds like a lot of bleeding I couldnt imagine going through that! Hopefully it doesn’t have any negative effects, it’s nice to hear you have been eating and napping. I’d much rather do that on a Friday night anyway ;)
Sat watching one born every minute, oh sat with me not phased at all, me on the other hand, I have to look through my fingers. I did see one woman go through it without crying, and I thought if she didn’t cry it can’t be that bad! Il get back to you on that in 8 months time!

StrawberryLemonade · 05/01/2018 20:29

I don’t know how you’re all managing this food I feel sick just reading about it!!

I also did the Chinese gender prediction and it says boy but it was also wrong last time so I don’t believe it!

Hortonlovesahoo · 05/01/2018 20:34

@gem173: I forgot which day it was! I didn’t cry during my labour. I was more stunned by it all!

@strawberrylemonade: crackers and toast are my friends at the moment!

butterfly86 · 05/01/2018 20:41

Evening ladies my nausea and sickness has ramped up the last few days but it is more controlled if I eat often, trouble is all I fancy is plain beige food...today I've had toast for breakfast then threw up a while after chip butty for dinner and pasta with sauce with roast veg for tea (at least there was some colour!) I've had a banana and orange thrown in between too and just had a bag of salt and vinegar crisps had a real fancy for them Grin only thrown up twice today and think I've managed it better I felt awful yesterday. I'll be a beached whale if I can't manage more fruit and veg Blush

peanut2017 · 05/01/2018 20:44

@TheMildManneredMilitant do you mind me asking where you got some clothes for work? I have some work maternity clothes from last pregnancy but boss is so clued in she would know straight away if I where them when I go back end of February.

Wondering should I just go for more bigger sizes than maternity as most emphasize the bump which is lovely later on

I literally look 5 months pregnant - really wished I shifted some baby weight but anyway no point wishing the flab away 😩

kathrynalicem · 05/01/2018 20:47

@milney25
I'm the same- I can't stop eating... everything! I haven't had an nausea for 2 weeks. I just wanna eat everything in sight. I can't get full. I was dieting for a year before getting pregnant(was told I needed to lose weight before I could start IVF then fell pregnant naturally just before starting IVF)

Pollyp87 · 05/01/2018 20:48

I’ve eaten 5 m&s white chocolate chip cookies tonight. Oops. I feel rubbish tonight as well, definitely come down with something 👎

The scariest thing for me right now isn’t the responsibility or anything like that it’s just ‘how the fuck am I gonna give birth?!’ Thats literally scaring the crap out of me 🙈🙈

My OH is still getting his head around it all I think, he’s being really supportive and sweet though which is good. We don’t even live together yet - we live over 100 miles from each other. He’s been looking for a job by me for months so really hoping one comes through pronto!

milney25 · 05/01/2018 20:56

Poor you @Hortonlovesahoo that sounds awful, I really hope it eases for you soon.

@kathrynalicem If you've been dieting for a year it sounds like you deserve a treat 😊. But I totally know where you are coming from. I'm one of those women who has to watch my weight closely, so I can't carry on like this. I'm saving loads of wine calories though 😂

Crissy83 · 05/01/2018 21:17

Ditto on the food front. Feeling like a right guzzle chops at the moment! Thankfully no sickness yet - feeling for all you ladies suffering the sickness though Confused xx

somersetsinger · 05/01/2018 21:37

Horton, I have a fibroid. It didn't seem to cause any problems in my last pregnancy. As my womb grew, the scans showed it wasn't in the way and I didn't need a caesarean. (For the first timers, giving birth wasn't as awful as One Born would have you believe!) I did have bleeding but not as much as you. I wonder if the fibroid is still there, or if they go away?

We don't have a nickname yet and aren't having any scans until 12 weeks. If the news is good, we can get more attached then.

Gizzymum · 05/01/2018 21:58

@Pollyp87 Giving birth - somehow you just get through it. I think the fear of the unknown was what made me nervous last time (for my first DC).

@somersetsinger I think I wish I had your labour! 😁

peterpanwendy · 05/01/2018 21:59

The Chinese predictor thinks I'm having a boy which I'd be very happy with!

E2017 · 05/01/2018 22:03

Don't think the anti sickness tablets are working now. Seemed to yesterday afternoon/ last night. They may be reducing sickness down to 10-15 times throwing up per day but still have constant nausea as well. 🙁

BertieBotts · 05/01/2018 22:47

Is there a series of one born on at the moment? I'll have to see if I can get it online.

Polly don't worry too much about birth, it's ages away yet so you've got time to prepare and it's not that bad :) there's also no shame in having pain relief if you want it.

TheMildManneredMilitant · 05/01/2018 22:48

Hi @Peanut2017 I got a black maternity dress and some black trousers from asos, and some black maternity jeans from new look - my normal size would have been too big so i sized down and I also got some bump bands which should help keep the trousers up and also stop me flashing my tummy. I've then got various long blouses, big scarves etc which should work. I don't think it will fool anyone for long but at least i'm comfortable and smartish.

Babydreaming · 06/01/2018 07:07

Don’t worry about the birth...it seems such a miniscule part of having a baby now on reflection!! For me the first few weeks after having a baby we’re definitely harder than the actual birth itself! I would have done the birth 3 times over for an easy baby and postnatal period.

Having said that my labour was super quick. I had a sweep one morning and went into labour that evening. I went into hospital at 4am and got admitted to labour ward by 5am and had him by 6.10am! So it was nothing like one born! They didn’t even have time to put a name badge on me...was straight to pushing!!

Babydreaming · 06/01/2018 07:08

I did loads of exercise and yoga last pregnancy and I think that helped me have a quick and straightforward labour so at going to try to do that again but it’ll be much more difficult with a baby this time!

OP posts:
Gizzymum · 06/01/2018 08:16

@Babydreaming my labour was equally quick. First contraction at 1.15am, he was born at 3.07am. Thankfully I'm only a 5 min drive from the hospital. Only downside was I could only have gas & air.

Babydreaming · 06/01/2018 08:50

@gizzymum me too!! I had 1 paracetamol I took at home and a few puffs of gas and air and that was it!

I turned up to labour ward requesting an epidural and they were like, of course we will get it sorted! Then they examined me and were like...well no time for epidural, time to push! I had a bit of a panic at that point!!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 06/01/2018 08:50

I'm 7 weeks today, boobs suddenly not sore this morning which is freaking me out slightly. Only a week to wait till scan. Thankfully got lots of busy and fun things to do this weekend.

I had a very fast & easy labour with dd but that was 13 years ago so who knows if I'll be that lucky again 🤞🏼

BertieBotts · 06/01/2018 09:14

My labour with DS was really long and exhausting but I got through it somehow.

peanut2017 · 06/01/2018 10:08

Thanks @TheMildManneredMilitant got stuff off asos last time which was good quality. I know it doesn't really matter in the long term but don't want to tell them until I absolutely have to.

My labour was 12 hours and had to be induced. Eventually had the epidural which is such a weird feeling but definitely helped.

I'm not going to lie I found it hard and afterwards also but not everyone is like that. Some people bounce back really quick. But I'm doing it again so it mustn't be that bad 😜 as soon as you get your baby you don't care. It's so worth it.

I remember thinking when I got home and just in love with my baby that I didn't care about anything else but him 😍 nature has a great way of getting us through what we need to.

I can still feel that sense of joy holding my son after having him...think someone is peeling onions here...😢 damn hormones

Stephiewoo · 06/01/2018 10:24

First labour aged 18 I was a scared kid having my own baby, was horrible.
2nd, I was in more control, but still lengthy.
3rd I had a c section, my choice. Worst bit, the spinal, best bit the cocktail of drugs after!
I'm doing it again, scared, anxious, it's all normal feelings.
The bundles we have after labour are so worth every twinge.
