@Hortonlovesahoo I have two fibroids in my uterus. They showed up incidentally on a scan a few years go. My doctor at the time told me they may cause problems in pregnancy. I’ve told my midwife about them she said depending on their location and if they grow in pregnancy I may have to have a c section. Other than that I’m not aware that they cause problems- maybe I should be??!

Gem173 · 05/01/2018 17:38

@peterpanwendy
Oh I look forward to my next few weeks then!... not.. haha like you said every week is a milestone! Let’s hope our little beans are safe and sound. My oh (well his family) have called our little bean Twinkle because oh SIL got the name peanut. I prefer twinkle, sounds cute and makes me feel closer to the baby. Might go for a star theme for the nursery. Ah my mind is taking me to another place haha

Gem173 · 05/01/2018 17:39

I meant Oh sister (my SIL)*

Kiki275 · 05/01/2018 17:41

@peterpanwendy arghhh, I'm 8 weeks this weekend and the thought of being a whale carcass that also spontaneously vom's is not an attractive proposition, I was and still am hoping to escape it.
I love how you also have an affectionate nickname for your 'little bean'. Ours is affectionately but not flatteringly called our 'nit'. When I was sat in the Dr's they said nit were the size of a lentil and our app also said the embryo was the size of a lentil. I texted DH and said 'our baby is the size of a nit apparently, how lovely' and it stuck. Has anyone else got a little nickname yet?

BertieBotts · 05/01/2018 17:42

That's cute! I've given ours the nickname sprout. Because we found out about them at Christmas and it makes me fart Grin Plus, hopefully, they're growing like a little sprouting flower.

Sealaplace · 05/01/2018 17:44

Can I hop on here? 6 weeks pregnant with my first, due 31st August. Its becoming so real now, hope everyone is doing well!

peterpanwendy · 05/01/2018 17:52

@Gem173 not everyone is sick so hopefully you don't! I was nearing the end of week 7 thinking this was a breeze and I was one of those lucky ones! Oh how naive of me! Stars are one of my favourite things ever especially in nurseries and baby clothes so I'm with you there!

@Kiki275 how stupid of us to be so huge in the summer months? 😅 I'm so looking forward to having a summer baby though.
IRL we call our little bean ' Baby C', very unoriginal but C is the beginning of babies last name 😂. I wish I had a cuter one!

@BertieBotts that's adorable I wish I'd thought of that!

@Sealaplace welcome and congratulations!

Gem173 · 05/01/2018 17:55

Aww such cute names! My Twinkle best stay put and grow and if she wants make me as sick as I’ve ever been. All that matters is they keep on growing like they are supposed to. I’ve stupidly read that ‘miscarriage story’ on the pregnancy forum and although it enlightened me to missed miscarriage and the emotions of it, I can’t help but stress. All that is comforting me now is the 1 in 4 figure that they give.

Anyone else just waiting till 12 weeks to have a scan and not getting an early scan? I feel like this Bus will drive along a bumpy road

SpriteGirl · 05/01/2018 18:02

Yes Gem173 I have waiting for my 12 week scan appointment to drop through the letterbox any minute now. Not having an early private scan.

Kiki275 · 05/01/2018 18:07

@Gem173 I'm just waiting until 12 weeks. Touch wood, I've not had anything concerning symptoms happen so far and am pretty chilled out about the whole thing, que sera and all that. DH is a dairy farmer though and knows more about reproductive biology than I ever will, so he's way more of a worrier knowing what can go wrong. When we first found out he was really stressing about ectopics etc. I'm just gonna have to get used to being compared to a heifer for the next 9 months. Don't get me started on the poor cow I saw having a prolapse after birth :) x

RainbowsAndUnicorns23 · 05/01/2018 18:07

@horton i have a blood clot, a haematoma they called it like a bruise! My mw told me its nothing to be worried about and should just get absorbed by my body. This was diagnosed at 5 weeks at an early scan due to bleeding, i wrote about it in my first post on this thread.

Stephiewoo · 05/01/2018 18:08

Just demolished 12oz of steak and a salad bar thing from Morrison's.
Wow! Best meal in weeks.

Our name for the little one is flea!

Gem173 · 05/01/2018 18:13

@spritegirl @kiki275
Goodluck ladies with the wait. My oh is a ‘no time for stressing’ kind of man so he shuts me down every time I stress which probably helps as I don’t think about it as much.
Kiki, I have no knowledge whatsoever about anything in pregnancy or after birth. I’ve read a book about it but have forgotten everything. I dont think I would like to watch farm animals giving birth, would scare me and thought of giving birth myself is worse! I’ve seen a video of a snake giving birth and that made me feel nauseous 😂

Gem173 · 05/01/2018 18:16

@Stephiewoo
That sounds so yummy, I just pigged out on a big carvery. Felt bad on eating so much although had quite a healthy portion of veg. Made myself feel better walking to the carvery and then waddling back home !

E2017 · 05/01/2018 18:27

Welcome to people new to the group. I hope everyone else is doing ok.

Nickname for ours is 'Ted'. My husband was working somewhere where the people had a toddler called Ted a long while back. Apparently he was really sweet. Husband came back and said hopefully treatment would work and that we'd be lucky enough to get a Ted. It stuck. Though I have a funny feeling it will be a girl lol.

SpriteGirl · 05/01/2018 18:34

Loving all the food stories. I had a Chinese last night. Probably hadn’t had one in years and it would never have occurred to me until a friend suggested it. Baby likes chow mien 😋

Struggling with food though as I feel simultaneously hungry, nauseous, bloated. It’s a joy.

@E2017 did the sickness drugs work ?

gkeen369 · 05/01/2018 18:39

I'd never heard the Chinese gender predictor thing so I did it and it says girl. Says girl for my DD to. DH says it's a girl as we're not perfect enough for one of each 😂

We're calling this baby little roo as we've all got a character from Winnie the Pooh. DD is Winnie and all my family even call it her 😂

peanut2017 · 05/01/2018 18:40

Don't have a name yet for this little one. Not getting much of a look in with my 8.5 month old. Even at the scan yesterday it was weird as I went on my own as husband has started a new job.

My mam minded the baby for a couple of hours and I told her I was having a smear Grin well they did the scan intravenously so felt like one Smile

Feeling like crap today. Tired, nauseous, dizzy and headaches - anyone found anything that helps? Baby decided to only have 2 naps for 40 mins each

Think I'll feel better next week when I'm back doing things and going for walks. Haven't left the house much this week

peterpanwendy · 05/01/2018 18:52

All these food posts making me hungry after my measly crackers. I'm a long-term slimming world-er so DP is making me healthy chicken nuggets, chips and beans, all I want at the mo is hearty and/or kids dinners! 😅

@Gem173 my OH is the same, he says why worry until we have a reason to!

No early scan for me either (January = poor month and all that)

Gem173 · 05/01/2018 18:55

Just done the Chinese predictor thing and mine says a Girl ! So exciting :)

TheMildManneredMilitant · 05/01/2018 19:27

Evening all just checking in. Following everything even though not posting much. 10 + 3 today and alternating between can't-be-arsed-and-feel-sick to mad bursts of energy and activity.

Treated myself to some new clothes yesterday - feels a bit risks still to buy maternity stuff before 12 week scan but don't have much choice as have nothing that looks decent for work (and will hide bump for a bit longer). Feel much better for it too.

Don't have a nickname for ours yet as still trying not to get too attached - having said that I'm now thinking Ted would be a great name for a boy Smile

YouCantBeSirius · 05/01/2018 19:45

That Chinese predictor thing reckons this baby will be a boy so we'll see.

Gem173 · 05/01/2018 19:51

Just had a whole selection box of chocolate followed by a pint full of super healthy mixed berry smoothie! 🤢 not sure if that meets the quota of a balanced diet 😂haha

milney25 · 05/01/2018 19:57

Evening all. My hunger is crazy, I'm eating so much. I think in the evenings I'm filling the wine gap with snacks. Feeling sorry for all those people suffering really badly with sickness. My nausea hasn't been too bad the last few days.

I've had the week off after Christmas, so I am wondering if I'm going to feel differently this time next week. It will be nice to get back into the flow though, I've had way too much time on my hands for googling.
