emmasmum It’s wise to only use private hospitals and not any go to clinic. Very lucky where I live- the top Fetal Medicine Consultant has his own private clinic around his nhs Work. The technology was amazing- he even texted us the viability scan videos!

That's really good Whichoneisit, and yes you are right. The private hospitals are fab. The street corner 3d baby scan shops are not quite as reputable!

I’m only 6weeks 2 days, so do have a while to go. But as it’s my first, my imagination is going haywire! Got a welcome pack from the doctors today but have a feeling my appt on Monday is just to confirm my pregnancy and then she will send me to my bookin in with a midwives one to two weeks later. Was hoping it was my booking in appt but not too sure now.

What’s a harmony test? How much is it?

Emmas mum - my DD will be 4 too when/if the baby arrives. Will yours be starting school in September (so just after our due dates)? Mine will, which feels like very good timing for me, although a lot of change for her to take on all in one go.

Ooh Eloisa that will be a lot to deal with all at once! But defo nice to have that time to yourself with the new baby.

We have to research secondary schools for DS this year I've got to get my head around the German system which is hugely confusing and complicated!

On another note, re: nausea and gender, I thought more nausea = more likelihood of a girl, as girls secrete more HCG.
A fun thing to do is the Chinese gender predictor calculator - you can find loads on-line. They're obviously not at all accurate but still fun to do. Mine came out girl! Obviously a 50% chance of being right!

:) That's a good point. With DS I wasn't quite sure whether I'd conceived in Jan or Dec and both came out as a different gender!

It is saying a pretty strong girl this time.

My nausea is definitely worse, and earlier this time. Wonder if, after 2 DSes it'll be a girl...not sure if I am prepared for that!

Not telling the boys until I have to. It's just too long for them to cope with the excitement. To be honest, I expect the eldest will guess at some point.

Do you have a preference? I've loved having a girl so girls are my comfort zone (and I grew up with a sister and no brothers). But having a boy would be amazing too - just more unknown.

@Emmasmum2013 My Mum had 2 boys and then me and she said she felt completely different with me. Much worse incidentally.

I barely had any symptoms at all with DD, felt a little tired but this time I've had cramps, really bad nausea, really bad heartburn. I've been more tired too but last time I worked in a call centre and now I'm a qualified nurse so I'm bound to be more tired I think.

I won't be having any private scans. Can't afford it haha!!!

I'm going to wait as long as possible to tell my dd who is nearly 4, maybe do something over Easter to incorporate it or something.

The older two at 21 and 18 both know, my eldest does not do babies at all, whereas my son has been my rock over the last 5 years or so and has a different stance on life.

Told work today, they were not thrilled at all, a mover and shaker in the service and challenge bullshit so they've been trying to get me out for ages. Stuck with me again now until I go back after may leave 😂

Been sick once today, but feel like the worst hangover ever known!

Eloisa - yes she’ll be going to school a few weeks after the baby is due. It is good timing I think because it means I’ll have the time off to get her all prepared (I’m gonna stop working a month beforehand the baby is due, pushed it too close last time and it was really crap) so I’ll be at home for her. And will be there to drop her off and pick her up and then have the baby all day to myself for 12 months! Then I’m hoping to go part time at work. I always wanted to before DD went to school so it’s great. Mat leave for 12 months at full pay then I can drop to about 22hrs a week I think.

It’ll be stressful for DD I’m sure, but it would be anyway. Lots of change etc. But she’s generally good at coping with change as long as all the adults around her spin it as positive and exciting!

Hi all, this is my first but I've already mentally decided it's a boy after 7 weeks. I've no morning sickness and the occasional nauseous sensation but in terms of bloating, I'm practically a whale carcass! One poke to the right spot and I'll explode. Anything which causes so much wind, has to be his fathers son. I don't want to find out on a scan and quite fancy the surprise but we'll see.x

Hi

I am due 06/08.
I have already had 2 early scans due to bleeding, first at 5 weeks-too early to see HB, so had to go back at 7 weeks where there was fetal pole and HB. Got told i have a haematoma which is what caused the bleeding, hoping it gets absorbed by my body and i go on to have a healthy pregnancy.

I have had my first midwife app, she saif the haematoma is nothing to worry about, just a bit difficult at times!

I have days where my nausea isn't as bad as others but i am so tired all the time! I haven't told my DS yet, he is 5, want to wait as long as possible!

Aspergallus I'm with you, torn between a boy with the comfort of knowing or a challenge and a girl.

I have felt worse this pregnancy with the nausea and tiredness (although running round after a 3 year old on top of the normal working day probably doesn't help that!). Won't be finding out til I give birth though, we didn't with ds and I liked the surprise

When I was in the last group a few years back it was lovely to meet with everyone. There was about 50 of us in total.
