September 2018.... still trying to believe it's a BFP

Jfw82 · 26/12/2017 20:47

Starting a thread with cautious optimism, BFP on Christmas Eve and again today (on ic, first response and CB digital Blush) If all goes well EDD 3 Sept. this will be DC2 for us, DS is 13 months and completely shocked as this was first month TTC when last time took 6 months. Hope to have some company here soon Grin

1-2 is 4-5 weeks
2-3 is 5-6 weeks
3+ is 6+ weeks

You should have the same result as me I think

MonaTheMoaner · 29/12/2017 18:05

I’ll update a photo tomorrow! What’s everyone up to tonight?

Paranormalbouquet · 29/12/2017 18:15

I’ve had been up (travelling) since 415am so I’ve flaked out now. DD seems to have got a burst of energy though and is talking non stop!

Symptoms have essentially disappeared for now but it’s early and I remember with DD they came and went so hopefully all ok!

Don’t have a digital to share but here’s my very reassuring FRER!

MonaTheMoaner · 29/12/2017 18:21

That’s a bloody strong line!

Jfw82 · 29/12/2017 19:14

Lovely seeing all these tests- I'm still hooked on my ic ones everyday Blushhave one CB digital left that as saving til Monday I should be 5 weeks and hopefully get a 2-3...

Jfw82 make sure you show us when you do it. I get so happy seeing other people’s tests too. It gives me so much hope!

Fia256 · 29/12/2017 19:37

Wow that’s a strong bfp! What dpo was that out of interest? My frers are definitely getting stronger but no where near that strong yet. I’m 10dpo though

Paranormalbouquet · 29/12/2017 19:55

Fia I’m a week ahead of you! 19dpo I think (could be 18/20 though- had 3 days in a row of positive OPKs but fairly sure from symptoms I ovulated on the middle one).

Fia256 · 29/12/2017 20:10

Oh phew that’s reassured me then lol! This was mine this morning, it’s looking ok for 10dpo I think?! It’s also loads darker than the day before. I need to stop testing but I seem to enjoy torturing myself

Paranormalbouquet · 29/12/2017 20:16

That’s way darker than mine was at 10dpo (although was done in the evening without any holding). You might have ovulated earlier than you think? I’ve been torturing myself too but need to get a grip really! I’m back to work tomorrow sadly, not looking forward to a long day!

Fia256 · 29/12/2017 20:25

Possibly, although I’m almost certain of the date but I suppose you never really know for sure do you! Yesterday’s was very very light though so it’s gone a lot darker in 24 hours already!
I think work is a good distraction! As rubbish as it is that you’ll be there!
When is everyone planning on telling work? My manager is well aware I’m trying, and as I work mon-fri I’m going to have no choice but to take time off for apps and scans so feel like I’m going to have to come clean with her pretty soon!

MonaTheMoaner · 29/12/2017 20:29

I’m about 16 DPO and my darkest FRER line three days ago was just a little darker than the line above.

Paranormalbouquet · 29/12/2017 20:37

I’m hoping to keep it to myself as long as possible given the high risk of loss. But will need to see how it goes with appts etc also.

MonaTheMoaner · 29/12/2017 20:42

I just told my mum, DH and best friend. If the worst happens, they’d be the people around me that I’d want support from. I’m also no good at keeping secrets.

Do you think it’ll be easy to keep it to yourself or more difficult? For example, not drinking etc.

HanSpan1 · 29/12/2017 21:10

Im pretty sure 2-3 on digi is actually 4-5 in real terms, that what it said in the box anyhow.
Which would make sense as my last period started on 26th Nov, and i have a 30 day cycle

Fia256 · 29/12/2017 21:11

I’m not really a drinker so I can get away with that one quite well. Although we have our big work belated Christmas party end of Jan, and that’ll be difficult to get away with as there’s free drinks on the tables etc! I think most people will guess from that night, if not before depending on sickness etc!

I’m feeling a bit sicky this evening and I’m so pleased haha!

Jfw82 · 29/12/2017 21:15

Apart from you ladies I'm out planning on telling anyone til after 12weeks. With work I want to wait until mid March- partly as my flexible working arrangement (post dc1) won't be signed off formally and contractually agreed until early march but also work don't have a good track record....

with DC1 I told my manager in strictest confidence at 8 weeks ( as she was asking why I needed time off for medical appts). I went on holiday for a week and came back to find she had told her two managers who didn't know it had been shared in confidence and thus had shared it further and they had already started recruiting my cover! It put me in a difficult position as I didn't know who knew and also some individuals I'd have wanted to tell myself already knew.......

Jf182 I can see how awkward that must of been! I hope you're the one to share the news this time.

I'm struggling to keep it from my mum as she knows when I'm due on better than me! Had to lie about coming on yesterday. But she does not handle me being pregnant well at all and she is not ruining my last pregnancy like she did the other two.

I've just started a spreadsheet of all the things I need to buy, organise and prep over the next 9 months. It's way too early but I need to feel organised. We got rid of all the baby stuff when we moved and the travel system is all that remains, but it's getting a bit rickety and worse for wear now.

MonaTheMoaner · 29/12/2017 22:20

CuppaSarah I’ve had a planning session too. I don’t want to jinx it but I have zero baby stuff left so I have to start from scratch.

CuppaSarah · 29/12/2017 22:26

Plus looking at all the beautiful tiny baby things is just heaven. We can't change what will happen and if the worst should happen I'd like to have at least enjoyed the pregnancy while I could! There's no such thing as jinxing, time is non-linear and everything that will happen has already happened. However we can only experience it in a linear fashion. So nothing we can do will change the outcomes, they've already happened. We should at least enjoy the ride! Sorry if that sounds a bit odd, but it helps me to worry less.

dingdongdigeridoo · 29/12/2017 22:32

I’m trying not to plan and worry just yet. It’s hard because I’m a big planner and spreadsheet maker. Also, so many sales on right now and I want all the teeny baby clothes!

MonaTheMoaner · 29/12/2017 22:33

That’s a beautiful way of looking at it and one I shall adopt. Today I am pregnant and today I shall be bloody happy about that while looking at all the baby things.

charlie1234567 · 29/12/2017 22:43

@CuppaSarah I'm so jealous that you have an idea of what you need, I'm completely clueless your spreadsheet sounds like heaven to me (I'm s maths teacher so always like a good spreadsheet). Knowing me though I'll forget something important!

MonaTheMoaner · 29/12/2017 22:48

Pro tips:

  1. You can have too many clothes (outfit style clothes)
  2. You can never have enough nappies
  3. You’llneed more of those thick maternity sanitary pads than you think
  4. The Bounty photographers in the hospital will rip you off. Use your phone on b&w mode for the same effect.
CuppaSarah · 29/12/2017 22:51

Babies only need somewhere to sleep, stuff to wear, nappies, milk of either kind, a car seat and cuddles. Everything else is a big plus!

Also disposable knickers and big soft maternity pads. They're like a lovely cushion to sit on. I loved the dispoable knickers, they're so much fun. Can't beat the novelty factor.
