September 2018.... still trying to believe it's a BFP

Starting a thread with cautious optimism, BFP on Christmas Eve and again today (on ic, first response and CB digital Blush) If all goes well EDD 3 Sept. this will be DC2 for us, DS is 13 months and completely shocked as this was first month TTC when last time took 6 months. Hope to have some company here soon Grin

Ooh the mesh knickers are SO comfy that I bought more when I got out of hospital 😂

Jacksonbrodieswife · 30/12/2017 06:35

Hi ladies, can I join? Got my bfp on Christmas Eve, after trying since mc in August. This will be dc3, fingers crossed. Symptom spotting like mad but not sure whether the indigestion I've had is due to greed...not been pregnant for 6 yrs!

FannyTheFlamingo · 30/12/2017 06:50

Morning! Please can I join? Got my BFP on Xmas day after promising myself I wouldn't test and risk disappointment till Boxing Day. I lasted till about 10am. Dates say Aug 31st, but we only DTD once so that'll be adjusted to beginning of Sept. We've been trying for 7 months so I'd written this month off. Slightly panicking as I have a 13 month old DD as well.

Paranormalbouquet · 30/12/2017 07:04

Welcome Fanny! I’m getting up for work and feeling very sorry for myself. Haven’t had time to read all the replies yet (will catch up on the bus) but I didn’t like the mesh knickers after my c-section. I’m not sure why but found them hard to put on and uncomfortable on the wound. I got loads of very high waisted cheap huge knickers from Primark and thought they were better!

dingdongdigeridoo · 30/12/2017 07:17

Very true Mona. Those baby outfits are ridiculous. DS was my first and I bought him jeans and hoodies. Most of which got given to the charity shop. Bounty can fuck right off. I’m hoping to have a home birth, but if not I’ll have to find some way to get rid of them!

Welcome to our newest members!

Fia256 · 30/12/2017 08:25

Welcome and congrats to the new members!

I’ve woken up feeling quite excited this morning which I wish I didn’t just yet! Taken my 6th frer (ridiculous I know) which was darker again this morning, and I think I finally believe now I’m pregnant!

CuppaSarah · 30/12/2017 08:33

Welcome new members!

I hadn't thought of c sections and disposable knickers! The cheap elastic doesn't sound like a good mix. I had vontousse with with first, forceps with my second, so maybe I'll continue to escalate things and end up with a section. Just gonna add again my forceps birth was really good and a fab recovery. I was terrified of them but they're not bad at all!! Within a week I healed so well the midwife said all that was left was what looked like a red pen mark! So do not fear the forceps!

I dreamt I started bleeding and a weird mucous plug fell out. Then again I also dreamt me and some teenagers were tracking down a boys long lost mother via a bank cake sale. Also I was an elite soldier, who fought against minecraft zombies using instagram.

Hi everyone, tentative poster as I’ve discovered I’m pregnant this morning. My period was late so I tested and the digital test says 2-3 weeks, really hoping all goes to plan. I’ve had quite a bit to drink over Christmas so am slightly worried! Haven’t told anyone other than my husband so all feels very surreal at the moment! Good luck everyone!

thereareworsethingsicoulddo · 30/12/2017 09:10

Morning everyone and congratulations Thanks
Hope it's ok if I join. A rather unexpected BFP yesterday, we were planning to start trying in spring so I'd come off the pill...we rarely have sex due to cosleeping DS and we weren't in the fertile window on the one occasion we DTD so feel very lucky just a bit of a surprise and shock to the system to have to immediately stop drinking and smoking!
Exciting though! Good luck to all Smile

Paranormalbouquet · 30/12/2017 09:24

Hello new members!

Agree with everyone saying not to get too much for newborns- somewhere to put them down, somewhere to sleep, something to transport them with and babygros/vests! I did find the changing table handy though after c-section as bending was harder.

Cuppa had weird vivid dreams last night too! Nausea is back this morning, not sure if it’s a bug or morning sickness. Bowels a bit runny but I did have that with DD (all coming back to me now!). I’m sucking on mints and thankfully work seems not too busy so hopefully will finish at a sensible hour. On call 48hours so really hope I get decent rest!

Fia256 · 30/12/2017 09:37

I've also had vivid dreams!

And also agree with newborns not needing much! My first two I went way too over board it was ridiculous. Luckily we still have the whole travel system from my last, and the cot is up in the attic. Baby will have to eventually share a room depending on gender (I have one of each so far) so wardrobes and drawers etc are all sorted. So I feel like we've got the most expensive things out of the way! I'd also started stocking up on nappies wipes and unisex clothes with the baby we lost in June (got to 20w so got a good amount already)!

MonaTheMoaner · 30/12/2017 09:44

Hello new members! Yay for BFP’s! GrinFlowers

Vivid dreams here and I feel sick again this morning. All good signs I hope!

dingdongdigeridoo · 30/12/2017 10:09

Congratulations Terriersandtea. Don’t worry about those Xmas drinks. The baby wouldn’t have been getting nutrients from you at such an early stage anyway. Plenty of women drink without realising they’re pregnant.

kirinm · 30/12/2017 10:30

Does anyone have recommendations for a decent pregnancy app that will tell me useful things such as 'baby is the size of a poppy seed' etc? I know they can be a bit naff but I'm googling this stuff anyway 🙄

Namechangedtoscream · 30/12/2017 10:39

Morning all and congratulations to all the new comers!

Not drinking isn't going to be an issue for me as I'm tee total due to medication I'm on. I've been so nauseous this morning. My sister finds it hilarious. Cheeky cow.

Namechangedtoscream · 30/12/2017 10:41

As for what to get for newborns. Be careful. My sister didn't get much As she was thinking people will get her stuff/newborns don't need anything and she had been told she would have a big baby. Then she had a tiny refluxy sicky baby and suddenly all hands on deck to buy babygros!

dingdongdigeridoo · 30/12/2017 10:45

Ovia pregnancy seems like a good app. It tells you the size of the baby and your progress.

CuppaSarah · 30/12/2017 10:57

I like the babycentre app. It has all the cutesy info, a little tidbit everyday, a bump selfie thingy and a birth club forum so lots of other women due September.

Feel so nauseous today. Never had this, so early before so could be a bug, or the over indulgence of Christmas. NameChange It's sweet she's being so involved even if she is cheeky!

Namechangedtoscream · 30/12/2017 10:59

Mmm problem is my sister's and mum ALL had hyperemisis from 4 weeks so it stands to reason I may well follow suit. I'm happy to put it down to festive overindulgence!!

MonaTheMoaner · 30/12/2017 11:13

I am so unbelievably happy right now. I know I’ve had loads of lines but seeing it in words makes it real. Lines up with my dates of being 4+2 too!

September 2018.... still trying to believe it's a BFP
CuppaSarah · 30/12/2017 11:35

I really hope you don't get HG NameChange it sounds awful.

Yay Mona so thrilled for you!!! Those tests can often give you the wrong week and make people worry so that hcg must be doing its thing very well!!!

kirinm · 30/12/2017 11:49

Is anyone else having cramps? They're very off and on but they make me really anxious.

MonaTheMoaner · 30/12/2017 12:05

Yepkirinm. No bleeding but cramps so sharp I have to stop what I’m doing. It’s so scary sometimes.

kirinm · 30/12/2017 12:14

I suppose that the fact there are at least two of us having cramps @MonaTheMoaner should be reassuring?!

Fia256 · 30/12/2017 12:19

I've been getting the odd cramps too on and off. Had it with all my pregnancies so definitely not something to worry about x
