September 2018.... still trying to believe it's a BFP

Jfw82 · 26/12/2017 20:47

Starting a thread with cautious optimism, BFP on Christmas Eve and again today (on ic, first response and CB digital Blush) If all goes well EDD 3 Sept. this will be DC2 for us, DS is 13 months and completely shocked as this was first month TTC when last time took 6 months. Hope to have some company here soon Grin

Here you self refer. My GP just phoned to ask why I hadn’t let her know I’m pregnant as she received a letter re my appointment!

blondie1001 · 10/01/2018 15:33

@flybynight I'm using opks too - I had loads left but I ran out of pregnancy tests!

dingdongdigeridoo · 10/01/2018 16:28

I’m a bit worried about this flu outbreak. Can’t get a jab at my GPs until next Wednesday, so am getting all paranoid when people sneeze or cough near me! I hate getting sick as it is.

MonaTheMoaner · 10/01/2018 16:57

Can you pay for one privately at Boots? Here in Wales they’re a tenner.

Primrose16 · 10/01/2018 17:22

So I am extremely confused. I have just had a scan due to cramping and a little bleeding. And I was dated 5+3 I was convinced I was more like 7. I got a faint positive on 23rd December (when I thought that I was late) and a better more clear positive on 27th December. I must have ovulated so late. But still I’m so so confused. So now I’m really gutted that I’m not further along, I feel like I have known for ages and have more time to wait.

bitzy12 · 10/01/2018 17:32

@Primrose16 sorry, I can imagine that must be really hard. I had something similar with ds. Have you got another scan booked?

Secondsop · 10/01/2018 17:33

@primrose it’s hard to date accurately at this stage as everything is so small so maybe when you next have a scan they’ll recast the dates. That has happened to me before in a previous pregnancy - heartbeat but measuring a number of weeks when you wouldn’t normally expect a heartbeat - but by my next scan I was measuring more in line with what I thought. Is it also possible that you ovulated later than you thought so that your faint positive was in reality before your period was due?

Primrose16 · 10/01/2018 17:42

They did say that dating might change and it could be a week out. However I’m gutted at least the bleeding is fine and I saw a heartbeat. So positives and all that.

Primrose16 · 10/01/2018 18:00

@bitzy no haven’t got anything booked. It’s going to be a long wait

Twinkletoes2018 · 10/01/2018 18:01

@Primrose16 don't know a lot about how accurate early scans are for dating but great you saw a heartbeat I thought about 7 weeks it took for that! I'm hoping I get somewhere with the gp tomorrow still got cramps and occasional spotting

Primrose16 · 10/01/2018 18:26

@twinkle yes I did think it was early for the flicker too. Awwww I’m sure it will be okay- I bet it is implantation. can you not refer yourself to the EPU for a scan. That’s what I did.

Twinkletoes2018 · 10/01/2018 20:09

I rang the epu on sat but it was 6 days pre period they said to speak to gp to ask for an early scan this week but if he doesn't refer I'll ring epu again x

Primrose16 · 10/01/2018 20:19

Good luck with gp and let us know tomorrow

Stevensongemma · 10/01/2018 21:09

Hello..I hope you don't mind me joining. I am due September too...been to the doctors today and been referred to midwife.

This is my first and it was our first time trying so I'm in complete shock as wasn't prepared for it to happen right away.

I have very sore boobs and ridiculous hunger pangs...

Xx

Justoneme · 10/01/2018 21:56

Hello....can I join in please .... very excited to learn I am pregnant 😊

Sals27 · 10/01/2018 22:42

Hi @justoneme! Congratulations. Whats your EDD?

I called my GP this afternoon and I just have go straight to family planning, will call them tomorrow. This is all so new I'm totally clueless.

I just don't feel pregnant atm, its weird.

Mrsssmith11 · 10/01/2018 22:44

Hello

I just posted in the other September babies thread. Found out on Saturday that I'm pregnant. By my calculations I'll be due 16th September. 2nd baby, have a 3.5 year old little girl.

Still feels a bit surreal. Guess it'll sink in over the next week or two when symptoms become more obvious.

I haven't told any one, except hubby. It's nice to actually talk about it.

Twinkletoes2018 · 10/01/2018 22:57

Welcome to all the newbies! I'm quite a new member too. Lovely to have more people joining us how exciting, hope you're all feeling well x

CuppaSarah · 11/01/2018 07:02

Haven't been able to catch up. I've been so exhausted its silly. I just slept 13 hours straight and still want more sleep. Think I'm coming down with a cold so might be why I'm so tired. I miss caffeine!!

Secondsop · 11/01/2018 07:05

So it’s a week after my first BFP so I thought I’d try my last Clearblue digital to see if it says 3+ ... and it still says 2-3 weeks. Am trying not to obsess over it because 2-3 weeks is probably right for now (the 2-3 weeks I got last Friday was surprising as I thought it was more likely to be 1-2 weeks especially as I did last week’s one with evening urine). But obvs I am obsessing about it Sad

CheekyPearl · 11/01/2018 08:02

@dingdongdigeridoo There is always a long wait at my GP too so I got my flu jab yesterday at Boots. I just booked online and told them I was pregnant so it was free. They didn't ask for any further proof so you don't need to wait for your NHS exemption bits from your midwife. It was super easy.

Justoneme · 11/01/2018 08:10

I am still getting used to the idea ... when I did the test last night I thought it was going to be negative but after taking two I am definitely pregnant 😍😍 I believe with the expecting date of 14th September 💫

Give me your load down 🎉

Justoneme · 11/01/2018 08:12

Ha ha my DH is obsessing over how far gone we are .... I am going to wait a few weeks before going to the GP; rightly or wrongly. We have been trying for so long ... can't actually believe it.

Relax and enjoy the journey ❤️

Secondsop · 11/01/2018 08:42

Congratulations @justoneme ! Obviously you must make the decision you think is right re when to go to the GP but I just wanted to pass on my experience of having urine infections and sudden high blood pressure starting in early pregnancy that I wouldn’t have realised without the GP - so whilst I completely understand the desire to see how things pan out for a little while I just wanted to pass on what had happened to me - although I am high-risk for numerous reasons so of course you may be in a very different situation. Enjoy the nervous excitement of these early days!

kirinm · 11/01/2018 09:17

All London overground trains were cancelled today and so my normal train was packed. My nausea is starting to kick in and all I could think about was how I'd cope if I threw up.

Anyone experiencing food aversions? Mushrooms and broccoli seem to be off the menu but I tend to eat them everyday. I really want to stay healthy and not put on too much weight but all I want is carbs!
