September 2018.... still trying to believe it's a BFP

Starting a thread with cautious optimism, BFP on Christmas Eve and again today (on ic, first response and CB digital Blush) If all goes well EDD 3 Sept. this will be DC2 for us, DS is 13 months and completely shocked as this was first month TTC when last time took 6 months. Hope to have some company here soon Grin

Argh I am truly exhausted today. My little girl slept horrendous last night (again) and all I have done this morning is chase after her at my baby can dance training! I’m pooped, started to get lower pains which now have eased since I have sat down. How things change from pregnancy to pregnancy. Last time I didn’t lift a finger I was wrapped in cotton wool by everyone due to my past losses. This time round I have a loony 13 month old to chase after 🙄

muffyduffster · 08/01/2018 16:49

@Secondsop yep I get those ovary pains this time around, feels a bit like I'm ovulating and I've had it since I conceived Confused that's why I thought I was pregnant even when I got bfn on my first two tests!

muffyduffster · 08/01/2018 16:51

@Primrose16 same! Been at soft play with mine this afternoon... already feeling guilty about not being able to run around with her properly later in my pregnancy!

Primrose16 · 08/01/2018 17:04

@muffyduffster I hadn’t even thought that far ahead 😢

Zoey36 · 08/01/2018 18:37

Sorry if this question is silly to some, but when should first contact with a midwife be?
The doctor has referred me through to the right place and my first appointment with a midwife is 1st Feb which will make me 11+1 weeks according to the doctor although I know (because I know when i ovulated) I'll really be 9+3 weeks.

Is that about right? Not done this
before 😂

Scoobysue10 · 08/01/2018 19:00

Hi all.
Had positive test new years day.
Am 6 wks.

This will be number 3 but the first for my partner. Eldest is nearly 16 and youngest almost 10. So quite a large age cap.
How are all you lovely ladies

FannyTheFlamingo · 08/01/2018 19:03

@Zoey36 That's normal I think. I had my first appointment with DC1 at around 11 weeks and then my 1st scan was at 13 weeks. Unless you have a history of early pregnancy loss or health conditions etc..

Fia256 · 08/01/2018 19:05

Booking in appointment is generally around 8 weeks, so I would say 9 weeks is absolutely fine, but just be aware they will only date you on your lmp so will still count you as 11 weeks. If your sure of your ovulation date though you can always just tell a little white lie of the date of your lmp so that it's adjusted correctly (did this before myself as I knew it would be incorrect and I'd be scanned too early)

Zoey36 · 08/01/2018 19:21

Thanks ladies. You're so helpful! :)

Fia256 · 08/01/2018 19:25

Can you believe my manager gave me the options of unpaid or annual leave for my upcoming antenatal appointments today!! After I'd checked the policy and told her it is infact paid time off she apologised and said she didn't realise - even though there's been 3 people pregnant within the last 12 months all under her. Honestly I just know this is going to be a constant battle this pregnancy! I've printed off the policy though for when I need it next Grin

Twinkletoes2018 · 08/01/2018 19:31

I've just passed a little speck of dried up blood? I'm feeling a bit worried that this may be a chemical pregnancy

BadHominem · 08/01/2018 19:46

@Fia256 that is so cheeky! She was either trying it on OR three of your colleagues had to have their antenatal care in annual leave time.

@Twinkletoes2018 bleeding can be normal but I completely understand why you'd be worried. How far along are you?

Twinkletoes2018 · 08/01/2018 19:48

It's really early period due in 4 days nothing I can do but wait just feel a bit nervous as had pain on mon and tues last week.

Fia256 · 08/01/2018 19:54

@Twinkletoes2018 a speck so early could easily be from implantation! Try not to worry for now although I know how hard that is to do!

@BadHominem unfortunately I think she was definitely trying it on with me! She's one of the most clued up managers in the building when it comes to policies! Oh well, I'll be ready for her next time lol

Twinkletoes2018 · 08/01/2018 20:01

@Fia256 thankyou I'm hoping so my implantation was very painful I think this was what the pain I had on the 3rd was. I felt nauseous this morning that's got to be a good sign

BadHominem · 08/01/2018 20:06

@Fia256 laminate the policy and stick it above your desk! I really don't get people who act like that. You can achieve so much more in life by being helpful and fostering good will!

@Twinkletoes2018 I am only just away from where you are (AF was due yesterday and I'm due 19th Sept) and I 100% get your worry. A spec is almost certainly a bit of implantation at your stage. I had bleeding at 9dpo with my second that completely stopped that evening, which prompted me to test at 10dpo, having not thought I was pregnant. He's now a 2yr old snoring away peacefully upstairs!

LadyBundleBrent · 08/01/2018 20:10

@fanny dd1 is a 16 month old monster - there will be 2 years and 1 month between them if this pregnancy works out. She still naps but would NEVER nap beside me!! I feel quite jealous of you - how old is yours?

I have my late Christmas do with my lovely colleague on Friday...after much talk of cocktails and sorting out my husband to be with dd1 I feel so sorry for her!! Not the night either of us had planned -i might have one-

bitzy12 · 08/01/2018 20:13

Been worrying constantly that it's not going well but just done a cb digital and got 3+ so hopefully that's a good sign. At this time of night too? X

bitzy12 · 08/01/2018 20:13

I'm 5wks+5 xx

Twinkletoes2018 · 08/01/2018 20:49

@BadHominem we are really close then. Thanks for reassuring me. Think I'll buy another first response and wait until later in the week see if it's any darker

Secondsop · 08/01/2018 21:06

@muffyduffster thank you - that is reassuring to know I’m not the only one with these weird twingy pains.

@Fia256 that’s appalling re your manager!

FannyTheFlamingo · 08/01/2018 21:09

@LadyBundleBrent DD is 13 months so will be a 21.5 month gap between them. She won't nap without me, which for the most part is lovely as mostly she still lies on me so I can have cuddles and get a good nap, but will have to get her napping on her own at some point over the next 9 months.

@Twinkletoes2018 I had 2 non consecutive days of bleeding, heavier than spotting but nothing like AF, just before AF was due and I've just had my 3+ on clear blue, so I think it was implantation.

Twinkletoes2018 · 08/01/2018 21:25

@FannyTheFlamingo thanks I'm just a bit worried as it looked like a poppy seed and my app describes it as a poppy seed. Wish I'd not seen it

BaliBound · 08/01/2018 21:34

Can I join please? Got my bfp this evening Grin Going by LMP my EDD is 15th September. Its still sinking in for me!

I was sick! I'm so happy to have vommited. I was getting upset last night telling dh despite sore breasts, headaches, tiredness etc I just didn't feel pregnant. But this morning good old fashioned morning sickness came and reassured me! It's definitely morning sickness and not ill sickness like when I was sick before. As I felt fine after being sick, which is always the case with my morning sickness. It also means I might be a couple days earlier than I thought as it has always kicked in on 6 weeks exactly!
