September 2018.... still trying to believe it's a BFP

Jfw82 · 26/12/2017 20:47

Starting a thread with cautious optimism, BFP on Christmas Eve and again today (on ic, first response and CB digital Blush) If all goes well EDD 3 Sept. this will be DC2 for us, DS is 13 months and completely shocked as this was first month TTC when last time took 6 months. Hope to have some company here soon Grin

@paranormal thank you so much. That makes tonnes of sense what you said. My long cycles are caused by PCOS. If I hadn't done those opks I probably would have put my own ovulation at about day 24-26 based on CM. I never did any opks around then to back that up. I guess I'll just go with it for now and try to arrange an early scan in a few weeks. I imagine a due date of early ish September....maybe 9th-12th.

I'm still reading away on the thread. You guys have made good progress! I'll be able to join in properly soon!

I have 1/2 of a really nice bottle of wine in my fridge. Drank 1/2 it last night. This bfp has really surprised me...a nice surprise, but I wouldn't mind a glass of that wine! Wink

muffyduffster · 07/01/2018 21:24

Welcome Polly!
My due date is 12 September too Smile
Not much to report here other than another cold brewing and a very grumpy baby with the same cold! Took a digi yesterday and got 2-3 so will do the last one next Saturday to hopefully get 3+ Grin

Pollywhatshername · 07/01/2018 21:30

@muffy I'm kinda dreading digital in the morning. Hoping it says 2-3. I know they can be unreliable....but I also know I'm not feeling too confident in this one (yet)
I hope the colds don't progress. Plenty of calpol for the small person, and fingers crossed for a good nights sleep all round.

Twinkletoes2018 · 07/01/2018 21:41

@Pollywhatshername I'm doing my first digital tomorrow after 2 days of lines on a first response. Period still not due yet so hoping to see the word pregnant tomorrow! Eek! Hope yours goes well

Pollywhatshername · 07/01/2018 22:17

@twinkle I hope it goes well...two days with lines, I'm sure it will!
At least it'll make it easier to get up in the morning...the anticipation. It's my first day back after Christmas break!

MermaidCafe · 07/01/2018 22:31

hi ladies room for one more? I was very surprised today to get a strong + on a home test as this will be number 4 for me - my other kids are 8,5 and 2. Totally shell shocked right now! I've just moved jobs so worrying about money and think it'll take a while to sink in! I may sit on the sidelines and wait a while!

Pollywhatshername · 08/01/2018 06:39

Great news @twinkle! Smile
I got pregnant 2-3 on mine too! Guess I'm gonna accept that it has happened. Mad. Was so sure we were out this month.

FannyTheFlamingo · 08/01/2018 06:43

Congrats mermaid & twinkle & polly!

Namechangedtoscream · 08/01/2018 07:08

Is anyone else struggling with sleep at the moment? I'm so so tired but can't fall asleep and when I am asleep it's restless. I'm exhausted this morning, in a FOUL mood, and can do without going to work today.

Fia256 · 08/01/2018 07:12

Welcome @MermaidCafe that's a really strong line! And congrats @Twinkletoes2018 on the digital!

@Namechangedtoscream yes me! I keep waking at 2.30 and can't get back to sleep for an hour or two!! I'm then in turn even more exhausted than I already am in the day! It's a viscous circle!

I'm excited this morning, ONE of my boobs is getting tender! Grin now just for the next one, and the sickness to start then I'll feel like I've got a full house on symptoms lol

CuppaSarah · 08/01/2018 07:53

Congratulations MermaidCafe and Twinkle!!

I'm sleeping ok, but my hair has gone crazy. I've always hide a light wave, but it's gone kind of curly, but super voluminous. Which would be great if I didn't have shoulder length hair. I never straighten my hair, but have been forced to every day as I resemble a mad scientist. Even straightening isn't calming the madness completely. I even lopped a couple inches off last night and restyled it, thinking it would sort the madness. Nope. It's still just as crazy.

Paranormalbouquet · 08/01/2018 08:11

I’m not sleeping great either. Heart rate has jumped again overnight- think it’s related to how much or little rest I get actually! Very very bloated already today. Will be forced to get some loose tops this week I think as I’m normally hourglass shaped and all my clothes emphasise my waist! It sounds vain but I found body image a big problem last pregnancy- I’ve normally got big boobs, bum and thighs but small waist so dress accordingly. With an expanding tummy I just look and feel like a blob! Swing jumpers/shift dresses look terrible on me so I ended up wearing wrap around tops and dresses constantly (which by the way are a good choice as they generally can go up or down a size easily and be worn afterwards).

I’ve got extremely thick hair normally so don’t really notice the difference when pregnant. I was possibly the only person in the world to welcome the post partum hairloss as I suddenly had normal hair instead of crazy volume.

CuppaSarah · 08/01/2018 08:58

Paranormal we're similar body types so I totally understand where you're coming from. On the plus side, once you have some looser things having big boobs and hips will hide your bump for ages! I'm pretty insecure about my curves so I tend to wear tight sleeves and legs and loose bodys. Which is a great look and makes you look skinny still as people assume under the loose torso you must be skinny.

My boobs are so painful I had to ask dh to take off my trousers last night as I couldn't face the pain of bending over Blush but after two kids there's no dignity anymore.

BadHominem · 08/01/2018 09:43

Hi there! Trying to be brave and throw my hat in the ring with you guys; I'm 37 and am 3w5d (12dpo) with #3.

I actually got a vvvvvvfl at 6dpo... which I know is completely insane that I was even testing that early!

My other two are 2 and 4; both boys so hoping for a girl (and expecting another boy). 4 previous miscarriages, so also fully expecting this to not pan out, but sick of spending every pregnancy terrified, so trying to engage and enjoy this one, even if it does come to nothing!

Secondsop · 08/01/2018 11:55

Hi everyone. Has anyone experienced slight throbby pains around their ovary? I had them last night - not bad but just enough to annoy me.
Main symptoms this time for me are: boobs, lower pelvic pully/stretchy, and hot flushes.

LadyBundleBrent · 08/01/2018 12:30

Hi guys - haven't read the whole thread but found out on Friday I'm 3 weeks' pregnant or so. Should be a due date of 19th Sept...took a year to conceive number 1 so taken by surprise with this after the first attempt!

Still hasn't hit home...expected a few more months of mental preparation! But maybe I'd never have been ready. Not sure how my mad DD1 is going to cope with being a big sister...!!

LadyBundleBrent · 08/01/2018 12:31

Also congratulations to everyone on this thread!

LostMyBaubles · 08/01/2018 13:39

Sorry not read back. Will do in a bit

Got back from hosp had to see consultant (non pregnancy related) bp was 134/74 and protein in wee (whoch I always have)
Aibu to be a little worried?

Paranormalbouquet · 08/01/2018 13:45

Lost it’s way too early for pre-eclampsia and BP doesn’t normally start dropping until the second trimester. I would make an appt with your GP to measure again. If you have a chronic medical problem meaning you have protein in your urine I think you should be referred to an antenatal medical clinic for monitoring during pregnancy?

CuppaSarah · 08/01/2018 14:14

Lost could you have thrush, or a bit of discharge gotten into the sample? That will give you protein. As for the blood pressure, one of doesn't mean much, chances are if you'd done some slow breathing for a minute and tried again it would be fine. If you are worrying about hypertension try and reduce your salt intake if you can. But when I we pre preclamptic with ds no one really took notice till my bp was 140/80(I could be a bit out as it was a few years ago and I only ever noticed the first number at the time) even then they didnt care and the day assesment unit paid that number no mind either.

LostMyBaubles · 08/01/2018 14:44

Thank you

I have kidney problems and with my last 3 pregnancies they kept going on about me being high risk for pre eclampsia.

I don't have thrush but I am weeing protein (have been for a while now, I'm under renal team at the main hosp as well as immunology and urology. Will mention this to the midwife tomorrow too)

Think it made me nervous as I've been suffering with headache (was one of my first symptoms) and the other morning my eyesight went a bit dodgy can't remember if I mentioned it here.

And will breathe now lol thank you for the reassurance

FannyTheFlamingo · 08/01/2018 16:13

@LadyBundleBrent Congratulations! I don't think I've ever been ready either. Part of me still thinks I'm 18 when I'm really 38. How old is your DD?

Tiredness has really kicked in today. Had a nap with DD this afternoon, fell asleep before she did and woke up to find her looking up at me, willing me to wake up!

CuppaSarah · 08/01/2018 16:14

One of the weirder and unknown symptoms a of preeclampsia everyone I know who has had it including myself is a good one to look out for. But it's a weird sense of optimism. Like everything is great and perfect and there's not a worry in the world, when you get bad it becomes a sense of euphoria and even though you feel worse than you've ever felt you couldn't be happier and everything is magical and fine. Your oh will need to keep an eye out for it though as you'll be too high on hypertension to notice Grin

CuppaSarah · 08/01/2018 16:18

I should add I had atypical preeclampsia which we're not certain if it was code for HELLP syndrome or I just had a weird form of it, but my advice could be slightly off as it wasn't a bog standard affair with me. Obviously had to be different.

Dr phone consultation tomorrow, not sure if I'm excited or not. I don't really feel pregnant today, so I feel like a fraud
