Starting a thread with cautious optimism, BFP on Christmas Eve and again today (on ic, first response and CB digital Blush) If all goes well EDD 3 Sept. this will be DC2 for us, DS is 13 months and completely shocked as this was first month TTC when last time took 6 months. Hope to have some company here soon Grin

Thanks *fannytheflamingo I’m feeling a little less worried now there is a few of us with small age gaps. We can do this!
Hiya twinkletoes and jfw82

Primrose16 · 07/01/2018 10:06

Oh can tell I haven’t used mumsnet for a while. How do you bold again?

Twinkletoes2018 · 07/01/2018 10:54

Hiya @Primrose16 we will crack the small age gap and if not muddle through it together don't worry x

Twinkletoes2018 · 07/01/2018 10:55

You put an @ sign before name to get bold (I had to ask this last week too!)

Secondsop · 07/01/2018 10:59

Morning everyone! Congratulations @MrsP2017.
Re the age gaps, I had 18 months between my 2, and if this one sticks it’ll be over 4 years gap for no. 3. The small age gap was full on but I didn’t know any different. It’s quite a novelty now to be able to ask my 5-year-old to bring me snacks!

Twinkletoes2018 · 07/01/2018 10:59

I must have just typed two @'s Confused

kirinm · 07/01/2018 11:34

I think it is probably all over for me. I've tried to be positive but I can't pretend that I think things are going to be okay. My RHR is dropping, symptoms are no where near as strong as they were and I'm still having brown spotting which I think is probably a precursor to the miscarriage. I'm going to leave this thread now. Hope you all go on to have a healthy pregnancies.

Namechangedtoscream · 07/01/2018 11:55

@kirinm lots of love to you so sorry for your loss. Hope you have lots of RL support
@cheekypearl happy birthday! I remember my 30th well!
Welcome and congratulations newbies! I'm not sure what's worse the tiny gaps some of you are having or the massive one facing me!!

So the cyclizine helped a bit yesterday. Kept 2 drinks and a small dinner in before i began being sick again. The nausea has been awful this morning despite the medication so it's been ice pops only today. I guess I should be grateful my symptoms are so strong but I would like the medication to take the edge off it a bit more! Grin

needahugbug · 07/01/2018 13:12

Hi all I’m still bf my 14 month old daughter. Will I notice a drop in my supply? She’s been getting really frustrated whilst feeding the past few days ? Is anyone else still bf

CuppaSarah · 07/01/2018 13:41

Really sad to hear this kirin nothing we can say to make this any better, please take time to look after yourself.

Glad to hear you managed some food NameChanged don't feel guilty about taking meds, it's important you're able to eat a little and it must be so miserable being so ill.

Those of you managing breastfeeding and pregnancy I am amazed! Very impressive stuff. I'm barely managing to stay awake.

I had to dig out my maternity jeans today. My normal ones were just tragic, though more Christmas indulgence than pregnancy bloating. Sadly the elastic has degraded and they're currently tucked into my bra. I've ordered another pair so fx they arrive soon. I cannot be doing with the awful explosive muffin top normal jeans are giving me.

Secondsop · 07/01/2018 15:33

Kirinm not tagging you but if you do come back to the thread just wanted to say I’m so sorry, and I hope you’re ok.

Primrose16 · 07/01/2018 15:37

I’m still feeding @@needahugbug I’m getting really confused. Sometimes my little lady wants me but then sometimes she cusses ans rather have a bottle of cows milk. Getting so confused. Last night didn’t want me so fell asleep on bottle. Afternoon nap today offered bottle she wanted he bloody boob.

muffyduffster · 07/01/2018 16:34

Kirinm hope you're ok x

Herecomesanotheron2018 · 07/01/2018 16:59

I'm still breastfeeding my 2.5 year old. She's really upped her feeds the last few days, so I'm wondering if that's because the supply is dropping. My nipple was absolutely killing after feeding her today. I think the latch is so important atm so I'm trying to encourage her to open her mouth really wide which helps a bit.

CheekyPearl · 07/01/2018 17:21

Thank you for the birthday wishes! I have officially spent more of my 30s asleep than awake. I am just exhausted all the time. But don't mind if it means everything is ticking along.

@Namechangedtoscream Sorry you are feeling so rough! Hope the meds kick in and take the edge off!

@CuppaSarah haha I know exactly what you mean - I'm trying to convince myself that Christmas indulgence belly is pregnancy bloat but deep down I know it's Quality Street belly 😂

MonaTheMoaner · 07/01/2018 17:35

I’m so sorry kirinm if you’re reading this 😭

Paranormalbouquet · 07/01/2018 18:16

Kirin I’ll still hope that all’s ok, we will be thinking of you.

I think I need to take off my Fitbit. RHR dropping and minimal symptoms is stressing me out massively- and there’s nothing I can do anyway to change things.

Twinkletoes2018 · 07/01/2018 20:24

How's everyone going with caffeine I wasn't too bad last time around but this time I'm exhausted from running around after a toddler. Today I had one coffee that had 79mg of caffeine and a Diet Coke at 40 so that's 120mg does anyone else know if the guidelines still say up to 200mg is ok. Ideally I'd like to keep it to one caffeinated drink a day but I caved today and had 2 think because I have such such such a sore throat and can't take lemsip :(

dingdongdigeridoo · 07/01/2018 20:36

Most places still say 200mg. I’m addicted to coffee but trying to cut back. Having one big mug in the morning then switching to decaf. I think it’s ok to go over a little bit now and again.

Flybynight1 · 07/01/2018 20:46

Twinkletoes I recommend honey, the raw stuff if you can find it! Hot lemon and honey and paracetamol and you've nearly got as good as Lemsip

Paranormal he's 17 months, he needs boob to go to sleep and sometimes to settle during the night and would happily boob all day if I let him but we've mainly weaned from day feeds. I think half the issue is he's taking ages to get to sleep this past week which is taking its toll! Easier said than done but don't overanalyse everything. Like you say this whole thing is completely out of our hands...!

Needahugbug I'm on a good fb group called 'breastfeeding older babies and beyond' and from others experiences it seems like supply drop is completely individual. Some get it, some don't, some nurselings dry nurse through the whole of pregnancy for comfort.

Herecomes you're doing a great job keeping going! But yes I think with sensitive nipples our little ones are going to have to be more considerate if they want it to continue...! 😂

Happy Birthday Cheeky!

Pollywhatshername · 07/01/2018 20:48

Hi all. I haven't read the whole thread yet....but will get started as soon as I post this! Hope it's okay for me to join in. I got a positive test this morning on day 45 of my cycle. I'm very unsure as to how pregnant I even am. My head is wrecking trying to figure it out. Maybe you guys can help...

This is my third pregnancy and have long unpredictable cycles. Last two times it all seemed straight forward enough and I got positive tests at 10dpo...never used opks. Just went by ewcm. This time is different...I got a positive opks on day 20 and 21...but not much ewcm, didn't think too much of it and dtd on days 18 and 21. Then had loads of ewcm on day 24 so dtd then and possibly more after that but never put the info into my app because it was Christmas and I was distracted. Plus though ovulation was long passed. Got negative pregnancy tests on days....32,34 and 39.....but then this morning on day 45 got a strong positive, on internet cheapie. I have a digital test to do in the morning.
I'm really afraid that the fact the the positive took so long to show up that it's not a good sign for a viable pregnancy. Like if I ovulated when opk peaked then I'd be 20+dpo getting a first positive test. Confused As I said before...my only other experience is getting positives at 10dpo.
Has anyone any experience of this? I don't know if I should just accept it and get an early scan in a few weeks. Or go to my GP and ask for HGc to be checked? Would that even tell me anything?

Paranormalbouquet · 07/01/2018 20:48

In my first pregnancy I drank a lot of Diet Coke as I was permanently exhausted, working 90+ hours each week and it kept me awake.

This time round as my miscarriage risk is much higher I’ve tried to knock it on the head a bit so I don’t blame myself if something goes wrong. I think up to 200mg is fine (and probably a bit more as the evidence of harm is quite low).

FannyTheFlamingo · 07/01/2018 20:52

I usually drink loads of energy drinks, but obviously that's stopped. Now I'm on 2 coffees a day, which isn't really doing much. I'm trying to nap when DD naps in the afternoon. I need to get rid of the Fitbit as well because it depresses me every morning with how little sleep I've had.

Paranormalbouquet · 07/01/2018 20:54

Polly I suspect you ovulated late- OPKs can be unreliable particularly if your long cycles are caused by PCOS (they detect LH which tends to be higher in Women with PCOS). Or you may have geared up to ovulate and then not released an egg but done so a week or two later. In my case EWCM peaks a few days(3-5) prior to ovulation so that might fit with you.

HCG levels won’t tell you anything- you should be eligible for an early dating scan based on irregular cycles.

Fia256 · 07/01/2018 21:04

I'm terrible for fizzy drinks when at work, I don't drink coffee though or any hot drinks for that matter! Am trying to cut out the pop though, but I can't do it cold turkey as I always end up binging on it after so long! My aim is within the next month to only have a fizzy drink when out for a meal (which isn't very often at all, just family birthdays etc)

Is anyone else suffering from acid reflux? It's not quite at the full heartburn stage yet, but I do keep randomly sicking up! Not a fan lol, but as I'm not getting nausea yet, I'll take it as a good enough symptom Grin
