September 2018.... still trying to believe it's a BFP

Starting a thread with cautious optimism, BFP on Christmas Eve and again today (on ic, first response and CB digital Blush) If all goes well EDD 3 Sept. this will be DC2 for us, DS is 13 months and completely shocked as this was first month TTC when last time took 6 months. Hope to have some company here soon Grin

I'm going away for my 30th this weekend, which I am starting to get anxious about in case anything happens while I am abroad. I mean as a first timer I am a lot nervous about everything.

Is flying okay in the first trimester?

rabbitsdontlayeggs · 03/01/2018 10:28

Yes @CheekyPearl flying is fine. It's fine right up until near the end, and even then it's not because the flying will harm you or baby it's because they don't want you to have a medical emergency on the plane.

Go and enjoy yourself!

Flamingo84 · 03/01/2018 10:30

Thanks blueberriesforbreakfast I’ve been taking the seven seas pregnancy vitamins. I’ll try them in the evening for a day or two but if they’re still making me queasy I might try the folic acid and vit D on their own. Mr Flamingo is in a flap about me taking them separately, but it’s our first pregnancy and he’s more worried than I am!

blondie1001 · 03/01/2018 10:47

I've got these pregnancy melts from Tesco - they're more like sweets than tablets and you can chew them so they don't seem to make you feel so sick. They're also ginger flavour.

Have a great trip @CheekyPearl

blondie1001 · 03/01/2018 10:51

Thanks to whoever recommended the Ovia pregnancy app - I'm enjoying getting my daily email!

bitzy12 · 03/01/2018 11:06

Hi everyone, quick question, anyone got their first midwife appointment at 6 weeks? This is baby no 3 for me, I’ve just rang the doctors to let them know I’m pregnant and to book my first midwife appointment. She said they book the first appointment at 6 weeks now, and my appointment is a week on Friday and will last one hour. I know first appointments take ages so that’s fine. But with my other 2 dcs, first appointments were always at 8 weeks. I didn’t say anything on the phone and it’s booked but I don’t want to turn up and waste the midwifes time if it’s too early. Anyone else going at 6 weeks? X

CheekyPearl · 03/01/2018 11:22

Thank you @rabbitsdontlayeggs that makes me feel much better! I need to take some deep breaths. I have been in such TCC mode for months that I am actually in shock that I am finally pregnant and feel totally unprepared!

Thanks @Blondie1001 it's a surprise trip so I don't know where I am going only that we fly out of Gatwick! Exciting!

@Bitzy12 I have been booked in for my first midwife appointment on the 29th January - which will make me 8 1/2 weeks. The lady on reception said they aim for 8 weeks.

LostMyBaubles · 03/01/2018 11:39

Fia glad you managed to get a scan booked in early

I'm taking Tescos own brand pregnancy tablets. £3 something and I have it with my main meal.

Vits can make you feel shit if you don't take them with a full meal (pharmacist was telling me)

Midwife not rang back so I will try again today

I can't sleep much at night.
I feel like I have no energy at all during the day

LostMyBaubles · 03/01/2018 11:40

I keep going dizzy and then getting a bit of a headache too

FannyTheFlamingo · 03/01/2018 11:52

@CheekyPearl enjoy your trip! I was exactly the same as you with DC1, I acted like I was made of glass for the first couple of weeks! Flying is absolutely fine.

I'm finally on my way home after Xmas with the PILs. Still haven't got any symptoms, but I didn't have any last time, so I'm trying not to worry.

lmccorriston · 03/01/2018 11:59

Any chance of a Facebook group?
I think it’d be easier to chat and share experiences. Happy to set up a private group and add people?
Just let me know if it’s too early for any of you
X

bitzy12 · 03/01/2018 12:14

I’m happy with a fb group, I don’t seem to be able to get the app on my phone so I’m having to google then log on everytime which is a bit of a pain xx

Hufflepuffinalltheway · 03/01/2018 12:16

I’m the same @bitzy12 so a fb group would be much easier.
(I’ve changed my username, used to be lmccorriston)
If people wanna send me their email addresses they use to log onto Facebook I can get it going :) xx

dingdongdigeridoo · 03/01/2018 12:19

While we are on the subject of flying, is anyone going away this summer? I’m thinking of booking a week in May, but I’m worried about going too far as flying is so bloody uncomfortable. I should probably get over it and just book the flights.

I was also supposed to be doing a week away in August in the UK. It’s a week before my due date so will probably scrap that idea!

Fia256 · 03/01/2018 12:24

I will happily join the FB group once I've got a bit further along!

We were supposed to be going away in August to Spain, however although we'd be still within travel limits, I've decided now there's absolutely no way we are going Grin will probably try and book and Oct break instead providing I don't go overdue and get a passport back in time! Been abroad when both of mine were newborn so not worried about that!

Namechangedtoscream · 03/01/2018 12:55

I'd rather not join a fb group if it's all the same. I feel it's far too early to do that.

Paranormalbouquet · 03/01/2018 13:08

Fia I’m glad you are having an early ultrasound.

I think it’s too early for Facebook groups too.

On tenterhooks waiting for my appt in cervix clinic now to see what they’ll suggest to me.

Fia256 · 03/01/2018 13:11

Good luck @Paranormalbouquet hope your app goes well!

MonaTheMoaner · 03/01/2018 13:17

Had bloods taken this morning and have to go back on Friday for more and then I should be told more. Doctors don’t seem overly concerned which is calming me down.

How’s everyone feeling today? Most of my symptoms have subsided now. Still sore boobs and occasional cramping but nothing else.

Paranormalbouquet · 03/01/2018 13:30

Thanks Fia, appointment isn’t for 3 weeks though!

Fia256 · 03/01/2018 13:55

Oh sorry I thought you meant you were there now Grin!

Mona glad drs don't seem to be too concerned and that you feel a bit calmer!

Paranormalbouquet · 03/01/2018 14:08

Mona I’m glad your doctor wasn’t worried and that you are feeling better.

I have cramps, intermittently sore boobs and think the fatigue has kicked in today. And some hives. Hopefully they are temporary.

SantaBaby1 · 03/01/2018 14:08

I will be up for joining a FB group when I’m a bit further along 😊

LostMyBaubles · 03/01/2018 15:26

Fatigue doesn't seem to leave me.

Doesn't help I can't sleep much at night either

Mona fx all is ok

Have my first mw appt next week

CuppaSarah · 03/01/2018 15:48

I'll join a Facebook group in a few weeks, bit too nervous at the moment and it feels like a big step right now

Mona that sounds positive! Glad to hear it.

Think the heartburn was just diet related, it's gone after 24 hours of healthier eating. I nearly was sick just now, I had caffeinated tea today by accident and I don't think it agreed with me, I've been on decaf tea a year now. So it's a bit strong for me.

Saw my mum today, there were loads of babies around and we were cooing over them. She kept saying things like "you'll have to wait to be a grandma for baby cuddles now" and I just sat there just smiling and nodding, cringing inside. She's going to be furious when she finds out.
