It’s really strange isn’t it for the sweeps, I definitely thought that for first babies they have to wait until a fair bit over due date.

In our antenatal it was mainly first time couples and there was lots of faces of “oh nonthat sounds horrible i’ll Not be doing that!” And the midwife laughed & said “if the heatwave continues I bet you will & definitely most ladies for babies numbers 2 or 3 always ask for them so it tells you something!!

@lifechangesforever so exciting for you let’s hope you continue with the contractions and get dilating more & meet your LO!! 😁

InstructionsRequired · 17/07/2018 18:11

Wow, super exciting @lifechanges Best of luck!
I spoke to a consultant at the hospital today and they’ve booked me in for a c section on Thurs if DD doesn’t arrive before then. I’ll be 15 days overdue by then and just want her out now. So relieved to have the end in sight.

lifechangesforever · 18/07/2018 06:51

Thea Rose was born at 12.14am on 18th July 2018 - her due date!! Which is perfect because it's her no longer with us great grandad's and great great grandad's birthdays. It means a great deal to my dad and nanna.

Very long day but a very quick active labour and delivery once my waters broke - the midwives actually couldn't believe how quick it was for a first one and have already warned me about how I will have to be prepared for extremely quick labour with any more children.

She's absolutely perfect. I'll provide more details when I'm running on more than 30 minutes sleep in a 30 hour period.

Awww she’s absolutely beautiful @lifechanges CONGRATULATIONS! 🎉💐 and welcome to the world little Thea Rose x

Minster2012 · 18/07/2018 07:28

OMG what a beautiful little girl she is @lifechangesforever and what a great day! Congratulations!!! Absolutely stunning name too, wow you will be in for very quick labours 🙈🙈!! 🙌🏻🍾💕💕

@instructionsrequired it will be you tomorrow!! Fantastic you now know I imagine it’s a great relief after waiting so long, only one more day....what are you doing to savour your last day of freedom???

InstructionsRequired · 18/07/2018 07:39

@minster2012 Off to the gym to enjoy a workout for the last time in a couple of months then going to head out for some brunch and walk the dog before spending the afternoon getting the house ready for bringing the little lady home... it still doesn’t feel real, but so happy knowing this time tomorrow we’ll be in hospital getting ready to meet her! Eeeeeeeek!

rebeccalouise1812 · 18/07/2018 07:40

Congratulations @lifechangesforever !!! She's gorgeous and love the name. It's my due date today so I'm crossing my fingers that our LO will follow suit and come and meet us today, not that hopeful though haha. Hope everything is going well for your little family, congratulations again :)

Minster2012 · 18/07/2018 07:49

Sounds lovely @instructionsrequired there’s actually something nice about knowing when she’s coming as like you say you can get things out all lovely and totally ready at home for when your new little family comes back rather than the rest of are pretty much ready but you will be absolutely on point!! Well, that’s the theory right?! I’m dog walking now, it’s cooler here at the minute, first time I’ve worn jeans in a month! And a jumper 😱

@rebeccalouise1812 let’s hope yours has read the due date memo! Fingers crossed these babies seem awful comfy!

Flatwhite32 · 18/07/2018 15:21

Congrats @lifechangesforever! She's gorgeous!

Minster2012 · 19/07/2018 08:31

@instructionsrequired good luck for your section today! Eek you get to meet your baby!!!

My friend has convinced the midwife to give her a sweep today which is great as she’s really uncomfortable and having problems walking and sleeping, and we’ve just got our hot water fixed (hopefully!) after having no hot water for 3 days!! Fab!!

RaspberryBlonde · 19/07/2018 11:14

Congratulations lifechanges, lovely that her birthday has special significance for you.

Good luck today Instructionsrequired, hope you got everything you wanted organised yesterday. I am still filled with admiration that you have managed to keep up the gym all the way through.

Good that your friend has organised the sweep minster, hopefully that will get things moving.

No news here, due today but no sign of baby evicting themself!

Flatwhite32 · 19/07/2018 17:48

Well I'll definitely be having a July baby. Being induced on Sunday. Eek!

Minster2012 · 19/07/2018 20:04

Everything crossed for @instructionsrequired that it’s all gone well!

And more good news for @flatwhite32, only a few days left then that’s good! Make them count 😁

My friend had her sweep earlier, & the midwife said he’s in a good position but there’s still a “good level” of cervix over him. What’s a good level?? Good level for who?? Us or him?? He’s obviously comfy so he’s happy with loads of cervix on him but we want none 🙈🙈 god its so annoying why can’t we just know??!!!

OH & I are climbing the walls & my friend is starting to hate it 😐

Minster2012 · 19/07/2018 20:05

It’s been 8 hours and nothing so doubt it’s worked 😕

InstructionsRequired · 20/07/2018 02:46

After a long day of waiting around (turns out when you’re given a time for a section it’s total fiction, our 9am appointment was a complete load of shite... cue frustration, anger, tears and giving up all hope of her ever arriving from me 😂😴) Our beautiful little girl, Tabitha Daisy, was born 15 days overdue at 18:09 yesterday weighing 7lb 15oz. She’s perfect in every way and we’re completely besotted by the new addition to our family. Can’t wait to take her home.
@minster2012 Don’t lose faith on the sweep success, they can take 48hrs to work their magic. Sending lots of speedy labour wishes your way 😘

Minster2012 · 20/07/2018 07:20

@instructionsrequired congratulations 😁💕🙌🏻🌈 that’s brilliant welcome to the world (finally!!) Tabitha!! Gorgeous name, how about a gorgeous pic??!! Sorry didn’t want to say about the induction time thing it’s a shitter isn’t it, and can you eat first?? But least you know it does result in you meeting your baby one way or another!!

We are losing faith a bit and we shouldn’t as we still aren’t at due date & I know a lot of u ladies are over it’s just next week will be hell with my treatment but baby doesn’t realise (or care!) & having our hot water fixed yesterday I finally washed my hair then DH & I went to go to bed & literally no water out of our taps or shower, no pressure at all. So not fixed. Grrrrrr

RaspberryBlonde · 20/07/2018 08:49

RaspberryBlonde · 20/07/2018 09:25

Oops, not sure how repost happened. DD is on iPad so going to blame her!

Congratulations on the safe arrival of Tabitha instructionsrequired.

lifechangesforever · 20/07/2018 11:28

Congratulations @InstructionsRequired beautiful name 💗 I'm sure she was well worth the wait.

We came home from hospital last night and it's fair to say 'baby blues' set in - probably due to me being so tired. Luckily, MIL stayed with us last night and took her at 2am and allowed me to sleep until 8.30 so I feel like a brand new person now and life looks a lot rosier.

Just waiting for our first visit from the midwife and then we need to go buy Thea a whole new wardrobe as she's a lot smaller than we thought she was going to be so has nothing to wear!

Flatwhite32 · 20/07/2018 13:49

@InstructionsRequired congratulations! Love her name!

Minster2012 · 20/07/2018 20:45

Awww @lifechangesforever I’m sorry to hear the baby blues set in though it’s bound to happen after one of the most stressful and tiring events of your life (& then not having much sleep afterwards due to new bundle of joy 😂😂!) glad to hear that MIL was on hand to assist. A new wardrobe to buy, how terrible! And that means you get out and about straight away which is great, enjoy the attention but remember you can say no to prying strangers this is what my mum keep telling me to remember for when the time comes (other than her of course!)

Maybe the sweep helped as my friend has had a couple of ‘bloody shows’ since, so maybe things moving in the right direction & the cervix is getting ready for action...we hope it might be over the next couple of days, especially as our midwife is on call!! Fingers crossed please ladies!! If not then another sweep on Monday, we want him out before DD on Thursday and my treatment on Friday!! 🙈

Minster2012 · 23/07/2018 21:40

Sweep done first thing this morning and nothing going on here, my friend has been having big random contractions at night (just one or two per night) then nothing since last Friday so she’s very frustrated and fed up with a long drawn out process already...fingers crossed it gets something going tonight or tomorrow though x

Thisone1 · 24/07/2018 08:24

Congratulations @InstructionsRequired and @lifechangesforever. And to everyone else with new arrivals I've missed. My baby boy arrived on 12th July after a very quick labour. We've named him Barnaby. Feeding is very painful but he's putting on weight so I'm persevering through the razor blade feeling! Hope everyone is doing ok today?

lifechangesforever · 24/07/2018 15:24

Just checking in to see if any more little ones had started arriving! Congratulations @thisone and @minster2012 I hope things are going soon, if they haven't already started!

I never in a million years thought that I would feel how I do about this little girl (who is currently sound asleep on my chest) it's completely overwhelming. She's such a good little girl and we're in a nice routine of eating, changing and napping - with only 1 feed during the night so I'm actually managing to be rested too! She is really very content, although I'm expecting it to change - it's probably the heat!

I wasn't able to breastfeed as little miss had tongue tie and by the time we could have an appointment to have it cut, I had to go onto formula but I'm more than happy with this and it's working beautifully for us. She's already above her birth weight at 6 days old.

I can not believe this time last week I was at the hospital and in labour. She's already 6 days older than I want her to be!!
