34 weeks today and eugh!! I can’t sleep at all my back feels like it needs pulling on a rack or something and I’m MASSIVE!!! you don’t think you can get bigger but low and behold you do Confused
I’m starting to waddle my centre of gravity has changed so much Grin
We are back from our holiday in Italy early as the 35 degree heat made me feel ill and we managed to swap our flights without penalty. Feel a bit sorry for my DH and DS although he’s only 2 and suffered with nothing to do in the heat boredom so it was the right call. My feet swelled up to the size of my husbands calves!! It was quite a phenomenon Smile

InstructionsRequired · 01/06/2018 14:46

Wow, can’t believe these babies are due NEXT MONTH!! 😬

Sorry to hear you had to cut your holiday short @KTD27 but sounds like you’re better off at home out of that heat. We went away last month and my feet were the same, looked like elephant stumps!! Soon went down when we got home though.

35+2 here and bump is still measuring off the chart huge. Had a consultant appointment today because of the size but she wasn’t at all fussed as no other health issues and wanted to get me out and off her books as quick as poss. Literally had to beg for a growth scan and that’s not going to happen for another 2 weeks. She said head is engaged and if the baby was too big that wouldn’t be possible... had to point out she has another 5 wks left to grow even more! Absolutely terrified and can’t sleep or focus at work for worrying about it so am going to try and book a private scan this weekend. Think it’s the fear of the unknown that’s worrying me the most although from the reaction today, even if she is going to be a Guinness world record sized baby, honestly don’t think they’ll let me be induced early or have a c section 😫

Hi, I have only just found this group, my baby is due 18th July.
Lifechangesforever - I had my health visitor appointment a few weeks ago and was really worried as we have a very boisterous 12 month old border collie who thinks everyone is his best friend and will want their face licking! We also have two cats so it can be carnage at times and I was so scared she would be judging and thinking they were all too boisterous and I couldn't control them and the house was a mess etc. Etc. But she was lovely, only came into the lounge (and I'd tidied the whole house!), Played with the dog and had a chat with me about what support I could have if I wanted after the baby is born. I found the visit really helpful and it put my mind at rest having met her and knowing she wasn't judging me! Hope that helps and your visit goes well :)

lifechangesforever · 04/06/2018 18:12

Thanks @rebeccalouise1812 that sounds lovely, hopefully mine is more of the same.

My due date is also 18th July! Grin

lifechangesforever · 07/06/2018 17:18

Just finished work until April 2019 Grin

CuppaTea86 · 07/06/2018 17:26

Ive just finished too! Annual leave until my due date on 15th July. Anyone suffering with pressure low down? Wish there was some sort of sling to hoist my belly up! I feel like I have only days left whereas its likely to be at least 5 weeks more.

lifechangesforever · 07/06/2018 21:07

Yep, annual leave for me too until the 18th July!

I wouldn't say I have pressure as such but the needing to go to the toilet is ramping up - I can barely walk 10 steps without thinking it's time to go again!

So glad I've finished work, I definitely couldn't have handled even another day - I'm so sore from SPD and my feet no longer fit in any shoes besides flip flops.

KTD27 · 07/06/2018 21:16

Having serious nights of braxton hicks here. ow!. They’re quite painful! Seem to be in the evenings so it’s right when I’m finally sitting down after chasing the toddler all day. Annoying!!

DirtyThirties · 08/06/2018 13:33

Haven't checked in here for a while but wow it's all getting close now! Congrats to the ladies who have started mat leave, mine is 3 weeks away and I'm not sure I'll make it all the way as every day gets that little bit more uncomfortable. I have a physically easy job but the bus journey is a challenge with this bladder!
Was in and out of hospital with reduced movements a few weeks ago, seems to be a common theme around this point but thankfully baby seems to be behaving him/herself a bit better now and wriggling a lot more!
Has the nesting begun for any of you yet?
Hope you're all looking after yourselves, now long to go now, wonder how long it will be until our first birth announcement?? Grin

rebeccalouise1812 · 08/06/2018 17:40

I'm self employed as a maths tutor so have been able to work less and less as my pregnancy progressed, I'm so impressed anyone manages a full time job as I was struggling as it was! Exams are all done in a few weeks though and then I will officially be on maternity leave!
I know exactly what you mean with the pressure low down, particularly when walking, sometimes I feel like I need to carry my bump around with my hand under it and that does seem to help a bit. I have also been getting really sharp pains across the middle of my bump, I assumed Braxton Hicks but the midwife said it didn't sound like it but nothing to worry about and take paracetamol. Has anyone else had anything like that?
Also found out at my 34 week appointment that the baby is now head down which is a relief because they've been transverse up until now. I'm planning a home birth so have a scan in the next few weeks to check its definitely in the right position and right size etc.
No nesting for me yet, will be interested in whether other people are nesting because my partner and I are convinced I'm so lazy and messy it just won't happen 🙈
Sorry for the long post, just seemed to have a lot to say!

lifechangesforever · 08/06/2018 18:28

Definitely nesting over here.. I'm making DH do it too Grin I paid £20 for a bag the other day that means dog blankets can go in the washing machine and it genuinely made me so happy!

Winterfellismyhome · 08/06/2018 19:10

The most annoying thing about nesting for me is having a whole list of things to do but not having the energy to do all of them ConfusedAngry

RaspberryBlonde · 10/06/2018 17:35

So jealous of those of you starting mat leave, I still have 3 weeks left at work. Am finding it quite hard to be motivated now given I won't be around to see how things I am doing now turn out.

Suffering a bit with insomnia here, combination of too hot, uncomfortable, waking every hour etc etc. I am looking firward to finally getting comfy again once baby is out.

No nesting here yet, haven't had the time! We still need to get the cot built but other things keep getting in the way....maybe tomorrow!

Sw19jo · 10/06/2018 21:07

I have 3 weeks untill Mat leave too but am not sure I am going to make it that far. My hips are absolutely stuffed at the moment and I am in constant agony. I am also having the odd dizzy/fainting episode, nearly keeled over in the middle of Aldi today 😕.

No nesting here, too much effort to go into the loft and get everything out, but am sure I will in the next few weeks.
Did an antenatal class with the midwives which was really useful and I feel much more able to make informed choices now when it does all get going.
Am 33 weeks on Tuesday and desperate for it to all be over now? Anyone else got the abdominal muscle separation?? My belly looks so weird because of it !!

lifechangesforever · 10/06/2018 22:06

I don't officially start mat leave until 18th July but because of the leave year having just started and will have restarted again when I'm back, I had 6 weeks to take, otherwise I would have been there another 3 weeks at least. You do have my sympathy though ladies!

SPD is a real killer now, especially during the night - as is heartburn! Midwife said it's no wonder I'm suffering though because little miss is still so high up, she's head down but not engaged as yet.

I have nothing to do baby wise in terms of nesting but there's so much in the house that needs doing and we never get chance. We've done a huuuuuge declutter this weekend - 4 trips to the tip and I feel a lot better now and we actually have somewhere to store the pram when it's not in use!

5 weeks and counting! (I hope!)

InstructionsRequired · 10/06/2018 22:41

Due in 3 1/2 weeks and got 2 weeks left at work but feeling fine physically (mentally terrified though!), so still running around as usual, going to the gym etc so really hoping to continue feeling this way right up until labour so that working up to the wire won’t be an issue.
No nesting here but FINALLY got nursery furniture up and somewhere to put baby stuff so need to pull my finger out, get organised and start thinking about getting the essential newborn bits and hospital bag sorted.

DirtyThirties · 13/06/2018 04:35

I second the insomnia issue, I think I would sleep fine if I could go more than 3 hours without the toilet, but alas those days are long gone! As soon as I'm awake I find it impossible to go back off (maybe I shouldn't be on mumsnet at 4 am.....)
@instructionsrequired wow I'm impressed you're still going to the gym, I stopped in first trimester when nausea kicked in and haven't gone back since Blush it's going to be really hard to restart again after baby is here.
@lifechanges oh I love a good declutter, how satisfying! I agree with the discomfort of a high baby though, sometimes I feel like I have two little feet embedded in my lungs and I find myself pleading with him/her to move down a bit. I have heard it gets more comfortable when the baby drops ready for labour though (not sure when that might be?!)

Good luck all, we are getting closer to meeting our little ones Grin

lifechangesforever · 13/06/2018 05:35

Ahh I'm not the only one awake @DirtyThirties - been awake since 3am now! This is exactly why I need to be off work ha! There's no option for my morning snooze today though as I need to walk the dogs and then take my nanna out shopping.

Roll on the 3pm nap Grin

Winterfellismyhome · 16/06/2018 14:33

Hows everyone getting on? How far along now? 37+4 over here and becoming impatient. Smile

InstructionsRequired · 16/06/2018 17:22

Ooh just one day out from each other @winterfell 37+3 here and a week left at work. Think my impatience will set in as soon as mat leave begins!

Winterfellismyhome · 17/06/2018 13:24

@InstructionsRequired ooh i dont know how you're still at work! I took my annual leave about 4 weeks ago because i was struggling Grin. Probably slightly regret that now as i dont have much to fill my days Smile

lifechangesforever · 17/06/2018 18:15

My impatience is definitely settling in and I'm only 35+5 Blush. It's the backache and insomnia though, it's wearing me down.

Having a baby shower on Saturday (not my thing at all but been coaxed into it) at my house so this week will be spent cleaning it to within an inch of its life. Midwife on Tuesday too, will see if DD is still measuring 2 weeks ahead and if she has deigned to move herself down the heartburn tells me no

lifechangesforever · 19/06/2018 11:36

Just been for my routine check up with the midwife and have been sent onto the hospital.

High blood pressure and protein in urine, so that coupled with headaches (although I did tell them I'm a very 'headachy' person anyway, it's nothing new to me) means I need to go for monitoring and checks for possible preeclampsia.

Not what I was expecting today - I've got my oven racks bleaching away in a bag! Ha!

Winterfellismyhome · 19/06/2018 13:18

Ooh good luck @lifechangesforever Thanks

DirtyThirties · 19/06/2018 13:21

@lifechanges oh no, keep us updated. Try not to worry you will be in the best place, and your oven racks will be spotless by the time you get home!!
35 + 2 here and VERY impatient, could be a long few weeks...
look after yourselves ladies Cake
