Due in June - am I unreasonable to expect the nanny to give birth for me?

DKMAFME - just wait till the baby drops right down and literally closes off your colon - so shitting at all then!!! senna at the ready. oh and your note seems very reasonable to me!
night Foxy i'm off to bed too got bags to buy tomorrow then list on ebay ASAP!!!!!

foxybrown · 24/04/2007 22:43

Some books to actually recommend putting a sign up saying "new mummy and new baby sleeping please come back another time". Makes you sound like a bit of a w**ker, but still an option! I think I preferred your version for sure!

Ria, did your DH have a stalker then?

Am really off to bed as I've just heard a strange noise and having convinced myself the mouse moved out two weeks ago, I don't want to deal with that too!

hollyandalice · 24/04/2007 22:48

Lol derlor, I've already put my not yet existant bags on ebay already on one day auction to make sure I'm ahead of the rush of them tomorrow! Hopefully I should be able to get a couple at least.

DH did have a weird workmate who took a fancy to him. I used to have nightmares about her trying to take him away by buying the boys affections. Don't expect she would have put up with his preference to work over women though.

Goodnight all. Enjoy the bag shopping.

hollyandalice · 24/04/2007 22:52

Right I'm off to bed...sleep well everyone and happy bag shopping xx

OP posts:
hollyandalice · 25/04/2007 05:32

You'd think sleeping would be easy for someone as tired as me....well apparently not!!

Ok, got back from sainsbury's to get my back and they had all been taken by people who had queued up since 5am! Now, I was mildly embarrassed at being keen enough to go at 7.15, but 5am what a bunch of losers! (she says without a single trace of sour grapes)

Bloody knackered now, wish I hadn't have bothered. Could've slept till 8.30! The thing is, I just really liked the bag. I think it's a bit of a stupid thing to do anyway, if the whole point is to promote everyone not using carrier bags why only make a limited number? Humpf. I'm going to be in a grump all day now at my wasted morning!

bumperlicious · 25/04/2007 07:54

H&A I hope you used that opportunity of insomnia to go queue up at sainsburys. Even they you may probably have been unlucky!

derlor · 25/04/2007 08:59

ooohhhh Bumper you're gonna hate me - my fab DH got up early and went to get me a bag - success!! he was no. 30 in the queue!!!! people behind him NOT happy however, the bag is already on ebay making a tidy profit - next one selling on ebay is currently at £165!!!!!!!
hope Holly was successful since she has already listed hers on ebay to sell - oops!!

derlor · 25/04/2007 09:01

just rechecked bag now at £205!!!!!! BRING IT ON........
(some folk are so crazy to pay that)

BadZelda · 25/04/2007 09:06

People are crazy: imagine paying £205 for a shopping bag! Sounds like madness for me. Hooray - I'm working at home today, so might actually have time to keep up with all your messages (yesterday was running round like a blue arsed fly all day, and then fell asleep when I got home). Still - only 7 working days after today before I can sign off: hurrah! Feeling v. cheerful this morning as I managed to get DH to give me a lovely shag ;)

catsuitgirl · 25/04/2007 09:15

Morning all! (Catsuitgirl = marylou for anyone who missed my glamorous transformation) Glad to see we've got onto the really important stuff - poo and fluff .

Feeling grumpy at the moment - chronic heartburn all yesterday afternoon and night, not much sleep, too much work to do and DH spent all last night watching football and dared to say that we didn't seem to have much food in the house. I think I might have started crying at that point in a helpless 'I can't be expected to be pregnant AND ensure the fridge is stocked' kind of way.

But had a nice giggle this morning reading all your posts. Now back to work...

hollyandalice · 25/04/2007 09:18

I have 4!!! Sorry!

OP posts:
derlor · 25/04/2007 09:26

ooohhhh Holly that is about an £800 profit for you if you sel them all
last one on ebay ended up selling for £255!! yippee..............
later chicks x

riabutterflew · 25/04/2007 09:30

congratulations on the successful bag buying and for those who didn't (though it is a bit extreme to shop at 5am for a mere bag.)

I am not going to be weird today - have to get on and achieve something!!!

I promise not to touch the computer 'til lunchtime...

hollyandalice · 25/04/2007 09:31

They were selling for £70 last night, now for £200!! People are mental! I nearly got in a fight, but I managed to get the last 2 in one shop and 2 more in another! I was gonna keep one, but don't think I'll bother!

ROFL about your lovely shag BZ!! My dp wants one of those, alas he's not getting one!

OP posts:
bumperlicious · 25/04/2007 09:35

But well done H&A and derlor.

catsuitgirl · 25/04/2007 09:44

Sell them! Sell them all! It's madness, it really is.

This working thing is just not coming together today. Feel wiped out. Just had a 15 minute nap with the cat

hollyandalice · 25/04/2007 09:47

Aww bless you catsuitgirl! Go and have another one! I shall be having one after lunch too. Have been up since 4.30 again. I'm bloody knackered!

Sorry that you didn't get a bag bumper! The store I went to first had sold out, the second one only had 30 and dp and I got the last 2 and the superstore had 210! We got numbers 195 and 196 so we only just got them!

You must be one very determined lady H&A.
Hope you make at least £800 and invite us all round for champagne

BUMPER, sent a few emails back and forth with the Babybuddha lot, just to clarify the 12.50 postage they quoted was ground and the 25 was airmail, I asked about shipping 4 slings here's the reply:

Here is the deal on shipping four - the price is the same for either country!

The timeline for ground is 4-6 weeks and the cost is approx for 4 slings
is $45.85.
The timeline for air is 6 business days and the cost is approx $87.81

So actually not much saving to ship 4 together, probably not worth it when you add in the cost and hassle of sending them out again. Also I think I would opt for airmail myself as I might well have a baby to put in this sling before 6 weeks are up (thud!).

I think Doggus said she was definitely interested, and someone else a maybe, Daisybump I think? Anyone else? In case anyone missed it the site is here

BadZelda · 25/04/2007 10:04

Just had a look at the baby buddha's....and it's exactly like the sling that my hubby made in about 1/2 an hour with sewing machine, metal ring and a sarong...at nearly 100 dollars don't do it ladies! I'll make you some when I get off on leave!

BadZelda · 25/04/2007 10:05

p.s. I, being only 5'2" never got on with it either...don't think it works that well if you're short? Absolutely killed my back / shoulder cos the weight is weirdly distributed. Though DH loved it and wouldn't be separated...

hollyandalice · 25/04/2007 10:06

I'm going to make one too BZ, I've even found a website with various patterns for differnet types of slings.

Yes sputnik, I am very determined, esp when there are bargains to be had!

sputnik · 25/04/2007 10:08

I was awake from 3 til 6 last night too
Doesn't help that I'm really uncomfortable sleeping here as the only place for DD to sleep is between me and DH, so I end up squashed. It's also starting to get hot and I didn't even need bedcovers last night.

Just to get my day's moan out of the way all in one go, we're having to stay here an extra day, I'm getting a cold and DD got quite hyper last night resulting in lecture this morning from MIL saying we stimulate her too much. I mean wtf are we supposed to keep her in a darkened room or something?

Catsuitgirl with your new name you should be out kicking ass not sleeping with the cat. Perhaps you should change to catnapgirl.

hollyandalice · 25/04/2007 10:12

My dd is crazy! I just gave her an apple, which she was sat happily crunching until she rushed over to me shouting "ladybirds and spiders in apple"! She had got down to the pips and thought they were bugs!
