Foxy - you should take a picture of 2 pitta bread pockets and put it on your profile page! (still PMSL at that one!)
Also PMSL at Ria 'snorting canderel' and am seriously now wondering what that would be like???

riabutterflew · 24/04/2007 21:57

I expect it would make you sneeze. Like icing sugar.

derlor · 24/04/2007 21:58

have you TRIED icing sugar Ria???

bumperlicious · 24/04/2007 21:59

Ok, I was leaving but I remembered I had to reply to sputnik re: baby buddha slings. We are still up for getting one, so let us know when she has come back to you with a final postage price. Didn't really understand the bit about the different delivery prices. So that $95 price is that with or without the Canadian tax do you think. I'm not sure about import duty though.

I'm happy to get them together and have one of us send them out (don't mind doing it myself). Let me know what you think.

hollyandalice · 24/04/2007 21:59

Me too foxy! I am really scared already about having the first poo after bubs is born! Can I just go to sleep and wake up in about 3 months?

foxybrown · 24/04/2007 21:59

We'll need a new thread title soon Ria....

Give me another 9 months - have to get the breastfeeding out of the way, followed by a bit of weight loss, for them to be their floppiest worst.

Luckily DP won't notice. Its another 12 months before he's due any more lovin', so he really won't care by then.

foxybrown · 24/04/2007 22:00

Shall I be honest and scare the first timers?

The first poo was worse than giving birth.

hollyandalice · 24/04/2007 22:03

It feels like your bum and fanjo are being ripped open slowly and being burnt at the same time! First timers ask for lactulose from your mw, really helps with the pooing!

OP posts:
hollyandalice · 24/04/2007 22:04

I think it's lactulose!

OP posts:
foxybrown · 24/04/2007 22:04

And I was worried about scaring the first timers!!!!

LOL Holly!

hollyandalice · 24/04/2007 22:04

Sorry, only trying to be honest!

riabutterflew · 24/04/2007 22:04

My MW in hospital said it's easier in your own loo at home.

Icing sugar - my DF doesn't like cake sprinkled with icing sugar cos it makes him sneeze. I generally don't like icing sugar because it makes the kitchen dusty. (Not that I make many cakes...)

hollyandalice · 24/04/2007 22:05

No-one tells you these things, I thought I would enlighten everyone! Labour is fine, pooing afterwards isn't!

derlor · 24/04/2007 22:05

anyone else REALLY thirsty all the time - not diabetic cause i have no other symptoms just thirsty?????

sorry just a random question i have thrown in to make sure you are paying attention clearly much more boring than current conversation but i'm just curious.

foxybrown · 24/04/2007 22:05

Is it an up-the-bum pessery? Had something from the MW last time but when she told me how to use it ("push it up past the poo" were her exact words) and handed me some plastic gloves, I decided to grin and bear it. Literally.

foxybrown · 24/04/2007 22:06

yes derlor, am v thirsty all the time.

riabutterflew · 24/04/2007 22:06

That first wee isn't particularly pleasant either.
The only thing that is any easier is to discuss these things without embarrassment.

hollyandalice · 24/04/2007 22:07

I had a dream the other night that I had the baby at home and it just popped out on my living room floor. I then slipped my jeans back on and ran to the door to let the mw in and said "don't worry I've already had it!" She then delivered the placenta and I was feeling great and jumping up and down and everything! Maybe I'm deluding myself somewhat!

PMSL foxy!!! lactulose is sugary liquid you drink to keep you regular - comes in a big bottle though is THAT what you shoved up your bum???????????????

riabutterflew · 24/04/2007 22:08

This conversation is like christmas lunch at DMs house!

riabutterflew · 24/04/2007 22:10

Must be more specific - her cooking is not comparable to poo(h?), just the general standard and topic of conversation.

derlor · 24/04/2007 22:11

excellent Ria count me in for Christmas lunch at yours - it's like a funeral at ours!!!

i love these random conversations makes me laugh out loud

hollyandalice · 24/04/2007 22:12

I've drunk half a bottle of lemon and lime high juice (full sugar of course ) in the past two days! Plus about 4 pints of milk! Yes the thirst is raging!

Lactulose is medicine and it tastes a bit like honey. It is safe for everyone to use, but you have to take about 3 spoons 3 times a day for a few days before it works. It loosens the poo and makes it smaller and easier to push out. I shall be asking for a prescription as soon as the baby has come out!

OP posts:
derlor · 24/04/2007 22:14

holly - you can get it over the counter but senna tablets are beter and a lot easier to take x (takes HV hat off and returns to the conversation)

hollyandalice · 24/04/2007 22:14

Glad I got the name right derlor! Glad I didn't have to stick anything up my bum either! The mw, however, will stick a painkiller up your bum when she examines you after the placenta is delivered!
