Sorry to let the side down but I think I will pass on the bag.

Dentist trip was very stressful as was Tesco, so will also sign off early. Am going to cook pork steaks and proper chips for DH (he has worked hard today...)

Also must do some on-line shopping while he is in the bath!

Sweet dreams all.

Durh! I've just worked out why I keep being woken up by a big ship's horn and why there has been loads of fireworks the past few nights! I'm such a thicko! There's some sort of biggest ship in the world in port atm and there is a big hoohaa about it. It's bloody pissing me off! The fireworks have been going on for ages and they are really loud, it's a good job my dd is a heavy sleeper!

God I'm a miserable bitch! Sleep well everyone xx

I miss out on all the good stuff.....the Sainsbury's 5 mins from me is selling the bags, but I've only just caught up with yesterday's post and they will no doubt be all gone by this times....we live in the heart of the Leeds Jewish Community where designer gear is an absolute must...so they'll definately all be gone, and I'm house bound (although DH is taking the sprogto school...maybe I can sneak out????).....and there is no-one to talk to cos you're no doubt all out fighting for designer shopping bags ...try fainting to get to the front of the queue .

Anyway...thanks again for all your kind thoughts....things are much better today...still getting contractions last night, but I had a pretty OK night and was only up once with an almighty painful one which I had to get out of bed and walk around through....the constant pains had gone this morning....still getting the odd painful contraction, but frequency much less. Wandered around a bit getting DS ready and having brekkie, and the pains have started again, so its a quick catch up on here and then "back to bed my lady" (in the words of DH). Ah well, I've been meaning to catch up with my knitting...baby blanket only half done and a wee cardi to sew up, so that'll keep me busy.

Good Luck with the bags....hope those who wanted one got one !

Bumper at the level of care you've been receiving. can't fault the service here as I've been seen at 12, 16, 20, 22, 26, 29, 32 wks and will now be seen two weeks till my date and have had BP, urine, FH and position checked each time. Also had further bloods done at 26 and 29 wks to check iron and glucose levels. Seen the same MW each time too. Its the good old NHS postcode lottery again isn't it......I had similar care in Scotland when I had DS (apart from (like Derlor) a 20 wk scan as it isn't policy there!!)
Interestingly enough though this has been a recent news topic, and I listened to this interview with PAtricia Hewitt on Radio 4. Fat lot of use for you though Bumper, but at least the lack of service in some areas is recognised...

Daisybump · 24/04/2007 09:03

[Grin] Sputnik, my fellow bedrest buddy....you must be going out of yor mind as its been a bit longer for you than me...but at least you have your laptop...think I may send DH out for a wireless whatsit, so I can do the same, although it is noce to sit in a chair...my poor bum kept getting numb yesterday

Daisybump · 24/04/2007 09:04

That should have said Sputnik...

Good morning!
Oh what a wonderful day!!
I got my special shower pressie!!!! Whoaaaa!!!
Can't tell you how excited I was to see it!! It's great getting a pressie when its not your birthday or christmas!
Well I got a Baby Whoozit toy (which is very cool) to hang on the carseat / pram - and as I have virtually no toys for this baby at all (loads of clothes etc) I am over the moon! (I just didn't know where to start with the toys?) It's perfect!
Also ........ I got some Maclaren (Beginning) Supporting Belly Balm which smells AMAZING, and is packed with all things good and wonderful. This may help with my quest to regain my flat tum!!!

It's like my Secret Showeree knows me, which is brill! I didn't put anything on my dislikes list when I sent it to Lovely Mars Lady - but I hoped that if I was sent any lotions and potions that they would be natural stuff as I have a problem with artificial additives and especially petroleum derivatives and this Maclaren stuff has non of that in it - which is very rare!! So I think I'll be buying the whole range now! - For mother and Baby!!!

Thank you Secret Showeree! You are wonderful, and I hope you have a wonderful warm glow in the knowledge that DKMAFM Elbow (my name on the packet! made me LOL!)is smiling like the Cheshire Cat today!!

Daisybump · 24/04/2007 09:16

Doh.....just realised it's only Tuesday today....not Wednesday....so I can send DH out to get me a bag .

So where is everybody? I'm bored here and no-one to talk to....

Daisybump · 24/04/2007 09:18

Someone to talk to...yay....
sounds lovely DKMA...I love those whoosit toys. Don't fgorget to post on the shower thread for Marslady....

sleepychunky · 24/04/2007 09:27

Hello I'm here! I know I don't post a lot but that's because of being at work all the time...

How are you today?

SC
33+2

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 24/04/2007 09:28

Have just hung the Whoosit toy on the cot in the baby's room!!
My little dog thinks it's wonderful too?!! I think I need to get cracking with my dog training before this baby comes - the poor bugger will have to play tuggy with the dog if he wants any of his toys!!

Sorry Daisy - I'm not going to be on here long - I've got to get ready and go out to work asap! The otherswill be on here soon I hope to keep you company?!

(I have posted my message on Marsladys thread).

Daisybump · 24/04/2007 09:30

hi sleepychunky....I'm here too, but obviously mad and talking to myself this morning....off to sort out my secret shower pressie (someone out there look out for the post in the next few days ) then off to the sofa to knit and watch crap daytime TV and not do any housework....under Doctors orders

sleepychunky · 24/04/2007 09:35

Wish I could be at home watching daytime TV..I've still got 5 weeks left at work assuming baby doesn't arrive early. I think I'm mad working till 38 weeks but I want more time at home afterwards.

Daisybump · 24/04/2007 09:39

Is this your first?....I did this with my DS (now 5).....this time I stopped at 30 weeks...and not a moment too soon I'll hasten to add.

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 24/04/2007 09:40

Don't worry SC - I am working until at least 38 weeks (prob 39) due to stuff I've had in the diary for ages and don't want to miss!
Fingers crossed we'll get there ok with no probs? But as I've not done this before - I don't know what to expect?

kittykitt · 24/04/2007 09:46

Morning!
Just sat at my desk trying to motivate myself to do some work.
Not due to take maternity leave for another 6+ weeks by which time i will also be 38 wks, sleepchunky, leaving it as late as possible for the same reasons as you. Only problem is that now i counting down the days and have ZERO motivation. Am dreaming up ways to have a week off work with pregnancy excuse..

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 24/04/2007 09:52

Oh Kittykitt me too!
Am meant to be at work by now - but not left the house yet - am just putting it off!
I am totally useless at work now anyway - am just huffin and puffin and talking jibberish!
I want most time off afterwards with the baby too, and if I don't work all of May I wont be entitled to any Sales Bonus I might have earned in Q2 (April - June) - which if I can get it - I will (desp need it).

So chin up and carry on gritting and bearing it (as long as everything is healthy) is my motto!

Daisybump · 24/04/2007 09:53

Just remeber that if you are off work for any reason connected wiht your PG within four weeks of your due date, it automatically triggers your ML...and that the forst six weeks of SMP are based on the aveage earnings in the eight weeks prior to your leave starting...so if you only get SSP if you are off, it'll affect your SMP.

....sorry, being a meternity rights bore

Daisybump · 24/04/2007 09:54

Lord above...what's with my spelling today

kittykitt · 24/04/2007 10:02

Even worse, am working at home this morning trying to write a presentation, but keep getting drawn back to MN, ebay, general internet shopping..
Being sat in trackie bottoms and hoodie not conducive to work mode either!
Oh well, just a 2+ hour drive over to the Lincolnshire coast for a meeting this afternoon to look forward to. My back is going to be in spasms by the tine i get there, so will be useless anyway. May as well cry off sick now and just resign myself to daytime tv.
Thanks for maternity rights info DaisyBump, am aware of this pesky ruling about being off in the last 4 weeks of pregnancy so will bear it in mind

Daisybump · 24/04/2007 10:07

I've tried working from home on lots of occasions, but just can't do it too many distractions...it's funny how that pile of ironing that's been lying around for weeks suddenly becomes the most important job in the world when there's serious other stuff to do
A friend of mine always puts his suit on if working from home to "get into work mode"

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 24/04/2007 10:09

I want to be really nosey now KittyKitt and ask what it is you do (I do presentations and drive a lot?) and where you live (takes me 2.5 hours to get to Lincs coast?), but you don't have to say - maybe best keep it anon if you (like me) enjoy a bit of a skive on here every now and again?!
