I've had so many nightmares during this pregnancy. I had bleeding in the first trimester so lots of miscarriage dreams. Now they're often about leaving the babies in hospital that sort of thing.

Although last night just had weird dreams about making an Xmen film with DH and Ed Sheeran.

The thread keeps on dropping off my threads I’m on thingy Hmm

Got a consultant appointment tomorrow so mainly thinking about that. It’s my first appointment so not sure what to expect at all.

RockinRobinTweets · 07/03/2018 11:13

I did get some stuff in the toys r us closing down sale. Worth a look if it’s nearby for you.

Pittcuecothecookbook · 07/03/2018 11:18

I'm having crazy intense sex dreams! Every night. Quite funny at first, but bit disconcerting now.

Also, constipation yes and terrible stitch now if I walk too fast. Annoying!

Looking forward to massage!

ClareB83 · 07/03/2018 11:23

My first consultant appointment was deeply underwhelming. Saw the registrar not the consultant. They told me to take aspirin, gave me a leaflet on twins and said we'd discuss birth next time.

Second time around actually saw the consultant and she rearranged all my care, told me I had a good cervix and I had to ask about birth. Was told it's ELCS.

Saw her again today and she told me I have happy babies 😁. Their growth is looking better - such a relief. So good they don't need to see me for a scan for three weeks.

FAU decided my blood pressure was good too and released me back to community midwife. So all good.

Great news Claire!

MegEmski · 07/03/2018 12:22

ohh @ClareB83 I take it you are expecting twins? gosh how exciting. Glad you have happy babies

good idea @RockinRobinTweets I need to investigate the one near us

@Pittcuecothecookbook Blimey! I can see why it does get disconcerting. Mine last night all I remember from it was a lots of packing up a house, chucking stuff in bags etc. and a really strong feeling of sadness.

I'm dizzy and every so slightly nauseous today. not sure why. Feels like i'm back in weeks 6 - 13 Envy ---> not envy

Heregoeseverything · 07/03/2018 13:11

@SparklesandBubbles Amazing work from your DH on the massage! cough DH cough

How was your massage, @Pittcuecothecookbook? I think you win on the crazy pregnancy dreams front!

Heregoeseverything · 07/03/2018 13:11

How are you and Amayah getting on @Mummyloves09 ? XxX

ClareB83 · 07/03/2018 13:41

Yes @MegEmski I'm expecting identical twin boys. Weighing in at 2lb3 and 2lb9 today which seems so much bigger than two weeks ago. Makes sense as I feel a lot bigger!

I'm 28 weeks on Friday and I've read twin mums are the same size at 28 weeks as they would be full term with one baby. And I still have 8 weeks to go! I'm gonna be huge.

Northernbeachbum · 08/03/2018 07:58

@clareb83 fantastic news, sounds like the boys are growing really well

@pittcuecothecookbook that's a crazy dream and a half! I've been so tired lately I can't even remember my dreams

@rockinrobintweets when did you get to toys r us? Trying to work out whether they're likely to be sold our of everything by now as it's about a 30 min drive for us

Pittcuecothecookbook · 08/03/2018 08:33

Massage moved to today instead of yesterday! Desperately in need now, been averaging 20k steps a day (did 26k yesterday!) On holiday so def feeling it now!

And no crazy sex dream last night. First night in about 7!

I still havent got a pram sorted, or sling, or mattress for crib or moses basket or anything - urgh! Feeling far behind... taken a step back with names now as I've gone off the only one my husband was very keen on. He has vetoed everything else!

Northernbeachbum · 08/03/2018 09:21

@pittcuecothecookbook enjoy your massage. I'm going to get one booked in asap I think

We still need mattresses, changing mats etc so wouldn't worry too much. We got an ergo baby but I'm wondering whether I want a sling Grin. Names are such a challenge, we've got our long list and I think we will wait for him to arrive to decide.

Have you bothered with getting toys yet? Seems pointless for now as they don't seem to play with them for a few months?!

HoneyBee03 · 08/03/2018 09:22

I'm tempted to get to Toys R Us to look for a cot. I thought it might be like a big empty warehouse by now! Worth a go for a bargain I guess :)

@Pittcuecothecookbook I'm in the same boat! But at least getting everything a bit later makes the wait for the baby feel a bit quicker. My baby collection at the moment is a black bin liner of second hand babygrows in the corner of our junk room....

I'm 24 weeks today! And I think the baby has spun around to face my back because I can only feel slight movements when I really concentrate. Usually it's like it's doing karate in there. This happened a few weeks ago too, but after a few days seemed to spin back around and start punching away at my belly button again. My midwife told me to start monitoring movements now, which I thought started at 28 weeks? Surely the baby is still able to tuck itself away at 24 weeks?

ClareB83 · 08/03/2018 09:36

Yes general advice is 28 weeks but perhaps she just meant for you to start doing practicing now.

I've had both twins face inwards for a day before, it's weird but I found the whole drinking water and lying on each side thing helped as I got to feel each baby do a bit of shuffle.

OP posts:
HoneyBee03 · 08/03/2018 09:54

Yes, I am starting to see a pattern with movements at certain times of day. Thanks for the advice :) I still imagine that my baby is the size of an apple so I think I need to mentally catch up! The weeks are flying by for me.

I bet you're feeling a lot of movement with two little boys in there!

Northernbeachbum · 08/03/2018 09:58

@honeybee03 I had that happen last week, I had a coffee then a very cold water and he obliged and moved back. He's such a wriggler though.....I really hope he sleeps more when he arrives than he seems to now

Is anyone going to treat themselves to another scan? I'd love one to see how big he's getting but I also can feel him so much I'm not sure it's worth the money

Shutupanddance1 · 08/03/2018 11:31

@northernbeachbum where I am you get to chose if you want a scan at every appointment. My appointment last week I didn’t bother but the one in April I plan to. Just nice to check and see how they are growing in there, my DD1 has crossed her ankles quite early in pregnancy and stayed like that the whole way through.. she had bendy legs when she came out Grin (all’s good now thou!)

I’m just over 26 weeks now and today I put a few bits in a rucksack as a make shift hospital bag just incase anything untowards happens between now and the time I actually pack my bag Blush It’s a bit early but I had PE last time and had my DD1 at 38 weeks but was in bed rest from 34 weeks so wasn’t allowed to do anything! I’m glad we have all baby things from DD1, but I do need to order a new ring sling as it will take a few weeks to get here

MegEmski · 08/03/2018 11:33

I was the same with movements but now I'm 27 weeks (tomorrow) she moves a lot more consistently. Seems less capable of hiding away.

I still need pram / travel system / mattress/ Got way too many clothes, people have given me all their second hand stuff. Need to sort through and take a load to charity shop I think.

ClareB83 · 08/03/2018 17:03

Yes @HoneyBee03 I do get lots of movement from the two of them. Sometimes so much it kinda hurts! Although twin 2 is generally on top and changes position more so I sometimes worry about whether I've felt twin 1 enough. Generally lying on my left encourages him to do a good wriggle though.

@Northernbeachbum we know we're lucky to get regular growth scans, but they're generally quite medical/anatomical now, not like the early ones where the sonographer gives you nice shots of their faces. But yesterday they were posing so nicely the sonographer couldn't resist giving us two photos and we got to see twin 2 swallowing amniotic fluid. It was lovely.

@Shutupanddance1 I've packed my hospital bag. We're away the next couple of weekends and I want it in the car with us. It's not totally complete - still need another nighty, some more pads and I won't pack going home clothes until I'm actually going in, but it's pretty full. A mini suitcase for me and a backpack for the boys. I need to launder their stuff too but in an emergency out of the packet will do!

Hi all, I hope everyone’s doing well.

A few weeks ago there was a discussion about stretch marks and bio oil. A few of you suggested a cheaper alternative to bio oil but I can’t remember what it was, any ideas? I’m starting to get some silvery stripes on my tummy, I didn’t really get stretch marks last time and I’d like to avoid them if possible!

ClareB83 · 08/03/2018 21:19

I use Avon's tissue oil.

Anyone else having bad leg cramps at night? I wake up feeling like my calf muscle has been torn, really agonisingly painful, goes away after 3-4 minutes of agony but calves generally feel like I've been overdoing it cycling...

Heregoeseverything · 09/03/2018 11:17

@ClareB83 A family member had twins back when there were no scans at all. She didn't realise she was carrying twins until 4 days before birth, when the doctor felt her womb and said, "There is a leg over here to the left, but there is another leg all the way over here to the right, do you know what that means...?" and she responded in terror, "THE BABY HAS DISINTEGRATED??" Grin Medical care has really moved on!

ClareB83 · 09/03/2018 11:43

Oh God @Heregoeseverything I would not have coped well with surprise twins. Finding out at 9 weeks was surprise enough!

And yes I have started getting leg cramps. Had an awful one the other night made me yell out in pain, had to gasp out what the problem was so DH didn't think it was labour or something worse. Had a few more minor ones since and i can often feel I'm on the cusp of one first thing in the morning.
