@ClareB83 Yes! I had to really bite my tongue not to scream and thought I was going to throw up, it was that painful...if I wasn't pregnant I would have been a state of panic as to what was causing it...not sure if there's a lot that we can do to fix it. I flex my calves a bit before bed but not sure that really does anything!

ClareB83 · 09/03/2018 12:46

Pre-pregnancy I'd get leg cramps if I was dehydrated or the covers were too heavy, both of which you can do something about. But I agree there doesn't seem to be much of a solution for pregnancy cramps, as I'm definitely not dehydrated with the gallons I drink now and I'm too hot to have heavy covers. So - just another one to grin and bear!

How weird I had my first pregnancy leg cramp last night ouuuuuchhh!! I agree drinking plenty and some stretches can help xx

Ca55andraMortmain · 09/03/2018 18:11

Argh I'm so bad at keeping up to date with this thread! Glad to hear Amayah is continuing to improve @mummyloves.

Lots of cramps here too, mainly in my feet. Not a symptom I had with DD and not one I'm massively enjoying!

It's been a rough week here as DD is hitting the terrible twos hard and the pregnancy hormones are not helping me deal with it rationally. When she says stuff like 'dont like you mummy!' i just cry instead of dealing with it like a rational grownup. And then I cry because if I can't deal with one, how will I deal with two?!

On the upside, it's the weekend, and mother's Day which means a lie in! What are everyone's weekend plans?

SparklesandBubbles · 09/03/2018 19:18

@Ca55andraMortmain I completely get where you are coming from. I've had a pretty rough week with my 2yr old DS too. It broke my heart last night when he said didn't want a cuddle with me as 'You have baby in your tummy now'. We had a proper melt down from him and he didn't go to sleep until11:30pm. Then this morning I went to a messy play with him that I knew some friends were going to and it was full so they wouldn't let me in. I just burst in to tears!! Luckily they finally let me in but I seem to cry at anything at the moment. It's so hard when we're exhausted from running around after them. My patience is seriously being tested. A few friends who've recently had 2nd babies have said their toddlers were so much better after they'd had the baby. Keeping my fingers crossed it rings true!!!

Ca55andraMortmain · 09/03/2018 19:27

Well that's encouraging I guess! Hope it's true! Sorry about messy play, I would definitely have cried too! Glad they let you in in the end.

11.30 bed time sounds hard to cope with too, I'm generally in bed before DD these days I'm so knackered! Dh wants to get her dummy off her before baby arrives but the thought of the sleepless nights and the crying are really putting me off doing it!

Here's to a better toddler week next week!

Shutupanddance1 · 10/03/2018 03:54

Gosh I hope toddlers get better after the baby arrives! My DD is 20 months and starting to test her boundaries with me, it’s very difficult. Plus another baby in the House next door keeps waking her in the morning and she seems to be getting up earlier and earlier atm!

ClareB83 · 12/03/2018 09:45

Got up this morning to find DH's motorbike has been stolen from our locked garage. Feel totally shit that someone has clearly been watching the house to steal it specifically as they didn't even rummage in the rest of the garage which has tools etc in it worth stealing.

Also feel shit that we have so much memory stuff in there (to make room in the house) that could have been destroyed if they'd decided to start or fire or something.

Kind of want to move. DH only came to east London because I owned here.

@ClareB83 so sorry to hear that. How horrible for it to have been stolen - I guess you have to think of the positives that at least they didn't wreck anything else or cause damage to those really precious items. Presumably the bike will be covered on Insurance - especially as it was locked away. Hope you get it sorted - not what you need right now I imagine x

SparklesandBubbles · 12/03/2018 11:17

I'm currently drinking a ton of freezing cold water to see if baby will wriggle - it's been super quiet last night and this morning. Anyone else had any super quiet times?

Bluesnail · 12/03/2018 11:25

@ClareB83 that's awful, I'm so sorry that's happened Sad not the kind of stress you both need when you have twins on the way.

@SparklesandBubbles my little guy does go through quieter phases but i still usually get a wee nudge every now and again. How far along are you? If you've been feeling baby move every day for a while now I'd maybe call the hospital and see if you can go in for monitoring. I am sure everything is absolutely fine though Smile

SparklesandBubbles · 12/03/2018 11:32

@Bluesnail I'm 29+2. Baby was super wriggly before and just seem to have got quieter yesterday and today. That said I have just felt one kick so I guess that's a good sign. I remember with my First he went through a couple of quiet phases - slight problem I have is DH is away and so I'll have to take my toddler with me to the hospital by myself (I don't really have any other support). Obviously I'll do it if I'm getting super worried but it's a bit of a trek on the bus to get there and back!

SparklesandBubbles · 12/03/2018 11:58

Update: the cold water seems to have worked and baby has had a good wriggle - I've felt 4-5 good movements now so that's reassuring - phew!!Smile

ClareB83 · 12/03/2018 12:07

I had one quiet day @SparklesandBubbles around 26 weeks. Had some water and lay down and they started kicking, they were just facing inwards so wasn't as obvious. But if you're worried call the hospital they're very happy to see you.

Insurance should pay out but after clearing the outstanding finance, excess and bearing in mind we just got it MOTed and serviced it's hardly anything. It's basically the deposit on a new bike when we were hoping to have it paid for and finance free for a couple of years.

Police just emailed (!) to say they'd closed the investigation when they haven't even come over yet! Next door have cctv they won't check and they haven't looked for prints or anything. Shocking.

Northernbeachbum · 12/03/2018 13:07

@sparklesandbubbles I've had a few quieter days when it's felt like he's turned so his feet face inwards if that makes sense but the cold water trick usually does it. Glad you got your wriggles in the end. Ours have started being very visible when he moves

@clareb83 so sorry to hear about that. Must be a horrible.
feeling. Especially as you werr so nearly there with payinh it off. unfortunately from what I understand (friends in the force) redundancies and cuts mean the police just don't have the resources needed to come out to burglaries. However if you can get the CCTV from your neighbour it might be worth sending it ov3r?

ClareB83 · 12/03/2018 13:56

Thanks, we're waiting for neighbours to get home. They go to work before us.

Years ago I had an attempted burglary and burglaries were a Met priority that year so they wasted loads of resources on it when there was nothing to go on (he wore gloves, didn't get in and I couldn't ID him). But I guess now something else must be on the priority list so they're not interested even though now there's probably more evidence and our bike is out there somewhere!

Had midwife this morning. Unsurprisingly BP slightly elevated!! Got to hear both boys' heartbeats though which is nice.

Bluesnail · 12/03/2018 14:39

@SparklesandBubbles glad to hear your little one had a good wriggle!

I think that the police in London aren't bothered by motorcycle theft because there is so much of it going on in that area-I've seen a fair few videos on youtube of bikes getting stolen off people as they are sat waiting at traffic lights! Absolutely unbelievable that the police are being so unhelpful though, especially considering you may have evidence on CCTV. Feeling for you, sounds so frustrating Flowers

SparklesandBubbles · 12/03/2018 15:16

@ClareB83 I agree it's not a priority for police in london anymore. I had my car broken in to just before Christmas - nothing was taken but the whole back windscreen was smashed. Police didn't even call back about it after I'd given my statement! Rubbish. Really hope the CVTV shows something and you can pursue it. I hate thinking these criminals can just get away with crime.

ClareB83 · 12/03/2018 16:07

DH tweeted the local police team and they just came by. They were very nice but mainly made me feel like a knob for not having better security. I think if I'd known how much the excess was I'd have been a bit more on it - but the bike is DHs and I've always just left the insurance etc to him. Whereas the house is mine so he's probably just thought he couldn't impose too many changes on it for his stuff. It's the sort of thing where we probably only needed to be married a few more months and it would have been sorted. Bugger.

Ah clare that is such a nightmare and stress you don’t need you poor thing, yay to cold water wigglessparkles
I managed to slio and fall down the stairs this morning only 5 stairs but banged the bottom of my back and bruised my bum so having a bit of a pity party, baby moved fine during the day but then started having some tightenings which isn’t uncommon for me but has spooked me a bit given today so am doing bugger all but resting and DH has texted to see if I want him to bring home pizza.... hell yes!!!!

Cookie1831 · 12/03/2018 20:04

Slip

ClareB83 · 12/03/2018 22:05

Oh dear @Cookie1831 that's no fun! At least your DH is bringing home treats.

Can I suggest hot cross buns with Nutella and raspberries as a yummy pick me up. Made me feel better!

OP posts:
SparklesandBubbles · 13/03/2018 15:32

@Cookie1831 - hope you are not too sore and enjoyed the pizza. I fell over today too on a tarmac road as my DS was racing ahead towards a car and both he and I fell over. I've got a nasty grazed knee and ripped my brand new maternity jeansSad. (Luckily baby has been wriggling away so I'm assuming it's fine). DS has also refused to nap for the second day in a row even though he was up at 5am! My DH is away so I'm feeling a little frustrated as he normally sleeps for at least 2hrs in the day (my opportunity to have a nap myself) and till 7am!!

ElizabethLemon · 13/03/2018 16:17

Sorry to hear about all the falls!

I had a growth scan today at 28+1 and all was well, they’ve estimated baby’s weight at 3lb! The sonographer didn’t have any concerns but 3lb seems huge to me especially as my dc1 was only a little over 5lb when born at 40 weeks. I am so pleased everything looks good so far but also slightly terrified that I’m going to have a huge baby!

ClareB83 · 13/03/2018 16:39

My boys were 2lb3 and 2lb9 at 27+5, so I don't think 3lb for a singleton at 28 weeks is massive. You'll be ok!
