GMM - what are you SAYING about my choice of going home outfit, eh??

LesleyR · 20/04/2007 09:29

Congratulations Eca & SOSPL
The only good thing about not being able to log on v.often is there's usually another lovely new baby or two to coo over when I do find time.

All the overdue/plain fed up expectant mums have my sympathies. I'm sending labour vibes to those that want them and relaxing day vibes to those who need that more.

Might try and read a bit more of the thread (no hope of ever catching up). Have a good day.

geordiemacminx · 20/04/2007 09:29

Nothing babes... might be a bit.... er.......chilly though???

liath · 20/04/2007 09:34

Congratulations SOSPL, I'd loved to have seen the look on Becky's face!

Hope today isn't too stressful, CD and the girls are good to you.

WO - boo hiss that it wasn't It last night, what a bummer. Hope it was a practise run for tonight.

Doing OK here, the wee man is feeding a lot better than dd did so although it's a bit sore it's a case of so far so good. I'd just LOVE to crack BF this time so fingers crossed. I'd post a photo but the poor chap isn't terribly photogenic and all the pics so far make him look like a goblin so we'll keep trying.

Katy44 · 20/04/2007 09:37

Pesha · 20/04/2007 09:45

Hi all

Congratulations SOL Cant believe you just woke up in the night and popped out a baby Well it prob wasnt quite like that but wow!
Thats some serious queue jumping

Still nothing really happening here, had a clary sage bath last night and some nipple stim which really works for starting contractions I just cant seem to be able to keep them going Was awake for a wee every 2 hours in the night and having serious KNUF walking around. Contractions still on and off all the time but not getting strong. Dont think he's ever gonna come out!!
DP is stressing cos he has football on sat, only 3 games left this season and he's the only player who's played every game so far so doesnt wanna miss one now! If baby comes in next few hours and im out tomorrow ive said he can go and we'll go too and watch and ill go with him if ive not had it but if im having proper contractions tomorrow morning he aint going anywhere!!

maveta · 20/04/2007 10:13

Morning again! CONGRATS SOSPL!! Like the others I am of course very but also thrilled to pieces for you.

I agree that we should all stop sign-spotting because it´s obviously not helping anything but it´s so HARD not too!!! I have dozed a bit more and just had a bath but feel exhausted and my whole abdomen is aching from all the BHs last night. Feel a very ´fed up´ day coming on..lucky I got so much acheived yesterday so I can completely wallow around today and not feel even slightly bad about it.

Is market day in the village so shall pootle off shortly to buy my fruit and veg.. and maybe go for a walk, it´s getting really warm here now.. might need to dig out the flip flops

Hi Octo! Forgot to say hi before and hope Ernie feels better after visiting the head guy. Hello Eddas/Lesley/Liath, nice to see the new mummies in here from time to time to help keep our spirits up!

As always, labour vibes to everyone especially those overdue xx

octo · 20/04/2007 10:18

WE WON THE SCHOOL APPEAL - am so happy - sat here in floods of tears - is such a relief!

Katy44 · 20/04/2007 10:18

That's brilliant! Must be such a weight off your mind

maveta · 20/04/2007 10:28

Oh that´s FANTASTIC Octo!! You must feel like such a weight has been lifted. Now you know that is all sorted you can sit back and enjoy Ernie-time!! Really pleased for you x

Bugmum · 20/04/2007 10:30

Not sure I congratulated eca yesterday, so belated congrats there, and of course our lovely story by SOSPL - perfect birth or what???? Brilliant

I, OTOH, am totally Fed Up. MW came this morning to do a sweep and couldn't as my cervix was too far back. She said the head is now 2/5, and she didn't expect any action for at least a few days. Due date Sunday. She says she thinks he isn't ready yet. Of course, this raises all sorts of questions re VBAC as they won't even use induction gel here if you have had a C-section before. Feel a bit teary, tbh. Have had shows, period-type pains and the urge to hybernate, but it does say what rot sign-spotting is, really

Maveta - you mentioned Bambineo nappies; I now have two sizes (for DS and the new babe) on tye-dye order with BumFluff It takes no time at all to become an addict, does it? Fantastic site that, by the way, though am sure you know it, seeing as it is run by a Mumsnetter.

Labour vibes to all who need/want them xx

Bugmum · 20/04/2007 10:31

octo - more good news!! That is brilliant

CaptainDippy · 20/04/2007 10:33
  • Congratulations!! - To SOSPL on the speedy arrival of Katie Elizabeth - Such a beautiful name!! Wow!! Well done you!! Were you planning on a Homebirth!!? - Absolutely delighted for and your wee family!!

Not many to go from the SE meet-up now!! Eeeeek! No pressure then ....

Fabulous news about the school appeal too Octo - Brilliant!!

I am feeling a bit more - esp now DD1 is a Pre-School and DD2 is sleeping. Just so weird - feeling soooo emotional and grumpy - can't pinpoint what is causing it (other than mega PG hormones - obviously - D'oh!! ) Silly really.....Grump .....

pinkranger · 20/04/2007 10:39

Just want to gatecrash ans say CONGRATULATIONS to SOL

heidle · 20/04/2007 11:06

OMG SOSPL - how fast please? how much rlt did you take? well done, am so impressed at the speed of delivery, and the absolute 'no fuss' attitude from you all so far - hope the rest of us can keep up the pace

have just seen midwife, nothing exciting to report, no symptoms at all- i've not had a KNUF - but I have had enough........I'm ready when you are baby...........are you listening to your mother?

heidle · 20/04/2007 11:07

oo, and OCTO, that is fantastic news!!!!!
you must be soo very happy

CaptainDippy · 20/04/2007 11:11

Empathising with those feeling very much heidle honey - When are you due?

Think I'll go and make myself a hot choc with marshmallows to cheer my grumpy-arsed self up .......

IsabellyMoi · 20/04/2007 11:15

Oh SOSPL - so pleased you had such a great birth. Sounds like you are doing really well. CONGRATULATIONS! Thrilled for you and as someone said - you are an inspiration. It can happen without much warning - yippee!

You'll have to change your name - the days of puffy legs are over!!!

Zazas - great news! All the best to you - hope you have announcement to make soon.

Please send me some labour vibes

maveta · 20/04/2007 11:18

Oh Bugmum - anything you can do to keep busy and keep your mind off it? You´ve still got a wee bit for things to get going and although in general reading signs is rubbish as far as making you think it´s going to happen soon - it should hopefully mean things are moving in the right direction, shouldn´t it?? Hope it all gets going soon and remember Eca´s midwife told her that her cervix was unfavourable and then she went into labour! So good luck. (and yes, it takes NO time for addiction to kick in re. nappies!!)

Just ate TWO chocolate donuts... the big question is... should I have another one...???

CaptainDippy · 20/04/2007 11:24

Maveta - Of course you should!!!

I've made myself hot choc and marashmallows and found some left-over cheesecake into the bargain!

to IM!! Send me some back pleeeease......

Hugest [[[[HUGS]]] to Bugmum!

ShowOfHands · 20/04/2007 11:35

And at 8 months pg that was quite a crash!

SexonLegs, just wanted to offer you my heartiest congratulations on the birth of dd2. Absolutely lovely names. I can't tell you how happy I am for you.

Go on, have yourself an orange bacardi breezer to celebrate.

Much love to you m'lady.

CaptainDippy · 20/04/2007 11:57
CaptainDippy · 20/04/2007 12:10

Bum - I am getting some nasty PG-related rash all over my ams, chest and tummy - Come on baby .....

Ooooh, I've just done a wee bit of Internet Baby Shopping - 1st I've actually done for this wee one ... DH is going to be cross!

I bought a Rainbow Coorie from www.bitsforbairns.co.uk and a gorgeous orange flower wrap from www.angeltots.co.uk. Eeeeeek! I know the baby could be a boy, but couldn't resist the flower wrap .... he's going to be wearing a lot of pink anyway, so why not complete the complex!!

Right, DD2 has gotten up from her nap and wandering round the house somewhere, so had best find her and give her some food before I drop her off with my friend .....
