maveta · 19/04/2007 15:00

Weeonion - hope it picks up again soon - sounds like how I felt yesterday but yours must be a bit further on what with the sweep and the show and everything. Good luck! A walk around the block probably wouldn´t be a bad idea if you do want to get things moving again, have read it is better than relaxing. Have you got anyone to go with?

CaptainDippy · 19/04/2007 15:03

maveta - Can't believe you tried to suggest my beautiful, sweet, innocent female toddlers were manipulative!!

maveta · 19/04/2007 15:06

very sorry

Congratulations Eca

Had hospital appointment this morn, decided not to have a sweep, partly after reading a thread on it last night and also cos would have been done by the dr I really dont like! Have mw appointment tues so will have one then if this babys still not shifted. Am now 1/5 engaged, whoopy f##cking doo! Was sure he'd gone down more than that but i think when I lie down he eases out abit then drops in more when I stand. They have booked me in for induction on 27th so will be 11 days over by scan date but only 1week over by mine so if it does come to that I will say no I want to go abit longer but not going to worry about it yet. I am worrying about dp being off work already, its lovely having him here to help and things but he only has 1 week off left so need baby to come soon or its wasted. If ive not had it this week i want him to go to back to work if they'll let him so we can have a full week with baby when he does come and because oherwise ill really start to stress and that aint gonna help get him out.

Got a little stressy with my mum ysterday and feeling bit guilty now, dp said afterwards he thought I was abit harsh on her. But since she had kids monday night she has been ringing loads, asking if any signs, if ive had any 'feelings' about when it might come. Tues when I said nothing really happening she said oh well it will be tonight though wont it. Er ive no idea, everythings stopped, who knows when it could start again. Anyway yesterday she'd rung afew tmes but I was having a busy day so had missed her calls. When I did ring her back she seemed bit stressy about it all, wasnt getting funy with me but just sounded a little off with me. Then she said, in a kind of negotiating a deal voice that she would like a phone call from me every day to let her know whats going on even if nothings happening I said I think the idea is if nothings happening I try and forget about it, if I have to keep thinking nothings happening ill get quite pissed off but I will let her know if someting is definitely happening. I know she's just worried but I cant believe she really wants me to check in with her every day and doesnt realise that might be abit annoying for me! Do they really think we'll go into labour and just not bother to mention it?!?

Sorry for huge rant but dp keeps moaning that im moaning all the time (must be so hard for the poor baby!) so needed to get it out.

EllieKthePA · 19/04/2007 17:13

Matthew threw a strop at being given water to drink and chuucked bottle on floor.

i sent him to his room and told him i would be up in a few minutes to talk to him.

go up moments later, he's asleep on his bed!

so much for punishing him, i'll be the one suffering when he won't sleep tonight!

CONGRATULATIONS ECA!

Look forward to hearing the details but it sounds like it was a great birth - I can't believe how many quick births & home deliveries we've had!

We've finally come to a decision on ds's name, despite dd insisting that we call him "Bubba" we've gone for Jonathan Fraser.

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 19/04/2007 17:43

Eca, any many congratulations to you. What a quick birth as well. Really looking forward to hearing the details when you are back on MN.

WO, hope things pick up again for you.

Big hello to everyone else too.

Back from the farm, and we had a fab time. Becky absolutely loved it - sometimes she isn't "bovvered" but today she was in to everything. I came in to the small animal handling barn to find her sat in the corner with a guinea pig wrapped up in her skirt on her lap! Really very sweet! Makes it all worthwhile.

No pains or anything here today which is disappointing. I have a while to go so can't complain, but like everyone else want to get on with it. Perhaps a whole tub of RLT with dinner tonight??

maveta · 19/04/2007 18:58

Oooh Ellie, get you, sound like a right Mum!! So did you wake him up or leave him sleeping??

SOSPL - glad your pm at the farm went well and hope Becky is nice and tired out (in a go-to-bed-easily way and not an overtired-and-tantrums way!) from all the fresh air.

Pesha - don´t worry about the rant.. it does get annoying when people seem to think their right to know everything (or lack of anything) is the most important thing, completely forgetting that maybe it´s NOT the most important thing to us. It seems my whole family decided that I was giving birth yesterday (a week before my due date) and I was getting calls and texts.. it was so annoying. My mum keeps going on and on and ON about how I MUST call her and let her know when I go into labour. I said well I won´t if it´s the middle of the night.. well to cut a long and boring argument short.. she wasn´t happy about it.

But why WHY would I call and wake them up at e.g. 3am when nothing might happen for hours and hours still? Just seems stupid to me.

bumble75 · 19/04/2007 19:00

Hi Everyone,

Congrats to LLL and ECA!!!

Glad to hear it seems to be kicking off for quite a few people - how exciting!

Good news - parents luggage now all here and Mum has only annoyed me once in a 24 hour period, a new record. Seriously though, is lovely having them here and they brought lots of pressies from Aus so feeling very spoiled & looked after. Morning tea planned for tomorrow at Harvey Nichols - yummy, yummy scones... also taking full advantage of eating rubbish while I can. Going through chocolate biscuits here like nobody's business...

Ok, there is a queue for the PC to check emails so will have to go. Hugs to everyone

maveta · 19/04/2007 20:50

Katy44 · 19/04/2007 20:58

liath - like the name!

Well we've been trying to induce labour, nothing happening yet though

weeonion · 19/04/2007 21:07

hey folks - just back in from long walk with dp. i really dont know what to make of this. i am getting pains - now strong enough to make me stop and breathe deeply but not so bad that i cant cope. they dont seem to be getting any stronger tho' and whilst they are about every 7 mins - not coming any quicker. is this just a practice run that has been going on a few hrs.??

Katy44 · 19/04/2007 21:27

Sorry, no advice, but hope this is it!

one handed typing... we have gone nocturnal here - ernie seems to get bad wind/colic from 11-3 and then fine rest of time - going to make cranial osteopath appointment tomorrow - bless its heartbreaking when can't take pain away

apart from that all well!

congrats to eca - really pleased for you xxx

good luck wo xxx

IsabellyMoi · 20/04/2007 06:59

Good morning all!

It has been a bit quiet on here...wonder if half a dozen people are off giving birth?

Sorry to hear Ernie has a bit of wind or colic pain, Octo. Hope it gets better soon.

Maveta - glad to hear you had such an energetic, productive day.

WO - hope you've seen some definite progress...hanging around in limbo, unsure of what's happening isn't easy.

No news here. Got up at 5:45 this a.m. (couldn't sleep) and went for a longish walk. Going for routine fetal monitoring today (b/c of being overdue) so will be nice to find out how the baby is doing. What I wouldn't give right now for an almighty, painful, powerful contraction!

Getting some calls, texts and questions from family and friends but so far finding it more reassuring and encouraging rather than annoying. Maybe I have fewer friends than the rest of you Can totally understand why it would be trying though.

Have a good day everyone. Patience and strength to us all!
