Hey firework the scan is only about ten mins and I was taken into a room for scan then ushered into another room for bloods then done. You could ask questions during the scan but not a lot of time so go in prepared!

Aggy106 · 22/10/2017 14:14

Congrats on the scan nored really glad it went well.

Sorry to hear about the drama ladypug with the slapped cheek on top of feeling ill.

mother what a pain about the scan arrangements, can someone drop you off so at least you won't need to spend a load of time looking for a parking space?

Hope you're all having a good weekend!

LadyPug · 22/10/2017 14:20

Thanks Aggy

Is anyone here actually feeling better eg come out of the other side of the sickness yet? If so, how far on were you? I’m 10 weeks tomorrow and still feel like death!

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 22/10/2017 14:47

At my scan last time firework there wasn't much time to chat - it took about 15 minutes and then I had to get bloods done. I don't remember having any questions though - am guessing you must have loads!

Aggy106 · 22/10/2017 14:50

I'm starting not to be as sick as I was though nausea pretty much every day still and I'm still shattered. Sorry not particularly helpful! But the thought of getting close to 12 weeks (10+2 today) is making me feel more positive which I think is helping.

LadyPug · 22/10/2017 14:52

Ah that’s good to know Aggy yes I just need a light at the end of the tunnel!

ChefsFloozie · 22/10/2017 20:31

Sorry I've been so quiet. Have been scanning the thread but felt so rubbish there's no energy to reply. But the last few days things have turned and I'm starting to feel better. Hurrah. Looking forward to being more engaged on here.

12 week scan on 7th November. Eeeek!

PhoenixDown · 22/10/2017 20:57

I thought I was starting to feel better.... until I started with a horrendous sore throat and cough that has set me right back again. This baby is breaking me!

Kirstipops · 22/10/2017 21:03

ladypug if I get a good sleep and never have an empty stomach then I'm not too bad. Smell aversion aren't as bad as they were and I'm finding the waves of nausea fade now if I don't eat in good time rather than just building up to the point where I vom Confused
I had my daughter at soft play today, it's frigging knackering following her around but thankfully she's becoming a bit more independent and is willing to go off by herself for a while. She was up in the night after a bad nightmare that has left her scared of our cat and she didn't want to go to bed tonight, managed to bribe her with a light up "magic" snowman wand thing!

Kirstipops · 22/10/2017 21:04

(And I'm 10+3)

LadyPug · 22/10/2017 21:40

Hey Floozie I know how you feel! Glad you’re feeling a bit better, how far along are you?

LadyPug · 22/10/2017 21:43

Hey Kirstiepops oh I’m so glad you’re feeling a bit better, you’re three days ahead of me which is promising! It’s been a rough weekend here, starting to feel really fed up! If it’s not sickness it’s heartburn! Argh!

Well done on spending the day at soft play, you’re my hero! I don’t think I could face that if you paid me!

Oh no, poor thing Phoenix I hope you feel better soon!

Poppy012 · 23/10/2017 07:58

Hey ladies, sorry to hear your still feeling rough- hope you start to feel better real soon :)

Whatamuddleduck · 23/10/2017 08:39

When are other people telling work? I'm 12 +6 today and will see my boss so I'm planning on telling her (only see and speak to her every couple of weeks). I started a new job 6 weeks ago and feel a bit weird telling her that all being well I'm only here for another 5 months. My job involves lots of training and long term commitments and so I feel I have to say something or illbebooking sessions that I'm not going to be here to run with no likelihood that any one else will step in.
After 3.5 years of infertility actually saying I'm pregnant sounds really weird (but very exciting!).

I told my managers at 6 weeks because I was off sick for a couple of weeks due to a few problems so thought was best to tell them then. I’m glad i did as all the risk assessments have been compeleted. It sounds like it would be a good time for you to tell them due to what you have said.
I’m 13+1 now the weeks seem to be flying by now Grin

Gyoza · 23/10/2017 09:08

Anyone else had any fainting? Was on a hot train this morning and suddenly went faint, managed to get myself to a seat at the station and perked up after stripping off some layers but must have looked like a total zombie, scared myself as I haven’t fainted in years 😕

LadyPug · 23/10/2017 10:17

Hey Gyoza I haven’t fainted but had loads of faint episodes where I’ve had to sit or lie down to prevent fainting! Awful feeling!

Hey whatamuddleduck trying to not tell work until after scan but scan is ageees away so will see how I go!

Whatamuddleduck · 23/10/2017 10:18

I've had some low blood pressure and low blood sugar episodes. Feel faint and shaky and need food and water. Occasionally can't see and go wobbly. I find standing still makes it worse, need to keep moving to keep blood moving I think, and get up
slowly. My sister fainted regularly through all her pregnancies. Low iron in her case as well as a tendency towards low blood pressure.
Hopefully it won't happen again but best mention to midwife as they can check and see if there is anything that might help.

I do have quite low blood pressure but just came out of the blue, was feeling on top form before it happened. Totally freaked myself out, told a guy at work about it and now he’s on to me, argh. I need to try and get an earlier train to make sure I get a seat!

HerSymphonyAndSong · 23/10/2017 11:01

That does sound scary Gyoza

One of the reasons why I have stopped cooking (apart from the smells etc) is that I can’t stand still for that long without feeling dizzy

HerSymphonyAndSong · 23/10/2017 11:04

I’m probably going to tell work next week after the scan (all being well) - they are my friends and it will be nice to share it

Will tell PIL and siblings asap after scan (my parents already know) but the rest of my family we are leaving until well after my grandfather’s funeral - it’s just too raw and it would be horrible to have people congratulating me at a funeral

kkmotts · 23/10/2017 11:41

Hello, feels weird saying this as I don't wish anyone to feel bad but it's reassuring to hear people are feeling as rough as I am! I have my first scan tomorrow when I'll be 13 weeks exactly (I think). I was sick again this morning, no idea how I'm going to keep down a pint of water at 9.30am but I'll have a go! My husband keeps telling me the sickness will ease soon... but I can't help but think what if it lasts the whole time! I plan to tell my work on Thursday this week once I've made sure everything is normal. Going to bake them a cake to ease the pain as there are a few others going on mat leave soon too and they are really going to struggle without me for a bit! Ah well.
I'm starting to show a bit now I think, rather than just bloat.
Not been fainting though, that doesn't sound fun, take it easy everyone!
I'm so impressed when I see that some of you already have kids, I feel so pathetic and weak most mornings (and evenings) when I've got my head in the toilet bowl, can't imagine doing this with a toddler on the loose as well! I keep saying I want two children but my husband thinks I'm crazy to want to do all this again as I moan so much these days about feeling so rough!
Here's hoping we get a good heart beat tomorrow and I manage to not wet myself! Hmm

PossibiliTea · 23/10/2017 11:58

Hi please can I join? So good to hear so many positive scans! My 12 week scan is Thursday and I’m so scared! Had a scan at 10 weeks due to some bleeding and all was ok so this should reassure me..but had horrible diarrhoea then constipation over the past 2 weeks (Sorry tmi lol) so pains from that have me very worried! Also pregnancy symptoms have pretty much gone now! Argh I’m driving myself insane haha help

kkmotts · 23/10/2017 12:16

I'm not sure what the etiquette is here... but can I ask is anyone else in the Buckinghamshire/High Wycombe area?

@PossibiliTea - welcome! You're lucky the symptoms have passed, sounds like you're easing seamlessly into the 2nd trimester! Hope all goes well for you on Thursday!

Poppy012 · 23/10/2017 12:21

Hope the scans go well @possibilitea and @kkmotts :) I was really nervous/excited before mine but I think it’s only natural.
