Thank you kirstipops I’m going to think on it for a day or two but would put my mind at rest and stop the stress of worrying about the fact that I’m showing more and more by the day!

Aggy106 · 24/10/2017 07:33

Thanks ladypug and symphony, this might sound terrible but in a way I'm glad I've got other people to worry about this with, it's nice not to feel we're alone (though I wouldn't wish this anxiety on anyone!).

ladypug if it's really going to stress you out then I would say get an early scan if you can afford it, if just to put your mind at rest. The stress isn't worth it! I've had two early scans this time to check everything is going ok and whilst they haven't got rid of my fears completely they definately helped.

estrele me too with the burping! It's really awful but I can't hold them in and it's usually when I'm feeling sick so need to let them out in case something worse happens!

Excellent news on the scans and being able to tell more people. firework hope all's ok with the smaller twin at your next scan but it all sounds really positive if everything looks right and you could see them moving around!

NannyGR · 24/10/2017 07:37

lady pug I was in a similar situation to you, had a early scan at 7 weeks as was worried sick due to previous mc, then had a bit of spotting so booked another one in at 11 weeks as I was a wreck, couldn't sleep through the worry of the thought of losing another precious baby, we paid £90 both times and I can honestly say it's the best money I've ever spent, when I had my scan on Friday I had 11 days to wait for my nhs scan so did seem pointless but I needed the piece of mind. But it does only relax you for a day or two and then you start worrying again! Have you tried ringing the hospital seeing if you can move your date, you may be able to bring it forward a few days and then even less time to wait. Mines a week today now and I'll be 12+6. if you think it'll ease your mind then I would Definatly book it, you may even be able to tell a few friends who will be able to help you out at the party your going to! Good luck whatever you decide Smile

LadyPug · 24/10/2017 08:02

Thank you Nanny I tried to move nhs scan but as they think I’m a week behind where I think I am they can’t do it any earlier! It’s really complicated this event, my best friend will be there and she had a miscarriage a few months ago. I don’t want someone to guess and out me (as others don’t know about her mc) I would rather tell her privately so she can process it and avoid me for a bit. But I also don’t want to tell her and then find out I’ve had a mmc as that will upset her for no reason. God it’s all sounding really complicated now I’m writing it down!

LadyPug · 24/10/2017 08:03

Thank you Aggy it’s so nice to get everyone’s help and advice!

HerSymphonyAndSong · 24/10/2017 08:13

I know what you mean Ladypug about trying to minimise the pain you know your news is going to cause (whilst also knowing they will be happy for you at the same time)

I have an inkling that fortunately a friend who recently had a miscarriage may have some happy news herself (hints have been dropped), which will be wonderful if so

I am worried about telling my manager, who will be thrilled for me but I know she is having difficulties TTC and she has said before that the “baby bombs” are difficult to deal with

Noredwine · 24/10/2017 08:28

Motherofboy - I have had very mild symptoms- sore boobs and tiredness and that is is really (occasional wiff of nausea). So I was convinced something was wrong but all fine at 12 week scan. Natural to worry but try to remain positive as lack of symptoms doesn't mean anything bad.

For those thinking of reassurance scans I had one at 10.5 weeks when NHS scan was 1.5 weeks later and was really glad I did. Just kept my anxiety down a bit until the NHS scan.

Congrats to all those who have just had scans. Anyone else due on 3 May?

I am not experiencing issues with burping (never have been able to make myself burp) but the bottom burps are coming thick and fast!! Grina bit tricky when at work all day in open plan office surrounded by poor unsuspecting souls!!

LadyPug · 24/10/2017 08:44

Exactly hersymphony and I just know someone would say publicly at the event are you pregnant?! In front of her without knowing and even if I say no she’ll know so I have to tell her first but would rather be sure it was all ok. I think I will book an early reassurance scan as I just think I’m going to be like this for 3 weeks otherwise!

LadyPug · 24/10/2017 08:46

Thanks noredwine it makes me feel better that you also had one close to scan and didn’t regret it. And yes! No burping here (never burp) but lots of excess gas in other areas! My poor DH as it all comes out at night! Hahaha

Poppy012 · 24/10/2017 09:45

Morning :)
Just had my 20 week scan date come through 4th December! ❤️

Poppy012 · 24/10/2017 09:45

You feeling a bit better today ladypug?

LadyPug · 24/10/2017 09:47

Wow poppy that’s amazing! 20 week scan dates! I’m feeling ok, still sick but much much worse in the avo and evening. I can pretty much handle the mornings. Think I am going to get a reassurance scan

wilkojnr · 24/10/2017 10:17

Ladypug I understand how much you are worrying about your best friend. I have a very close friend (since we were babies ourselves) that has been TTC for 2 years with no luck so I was really worried about telling her. She was just pleased for me and although I know it will have given her a little bit of a downer, our friendship and my honesty with her (I told her at 6 weeks) has actually brought us even closer. I know it’s completely the same but I do think she will appreciate you telling her and giving her time to process it xx

wilkojnr · 24/10/2017 10:18

Meant to say it’s not completely the same!

Poppy012 · 24/10/2017 10:22

Yeah I’d say it’s worth it to put your mind at ease @ladypug

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 24/10/2017 10:55

Hello everyone - just on my way into work after 12 week scan. All looks fine - baby was very co-operative for the measurements, so I reckon going to be more easygoing than their big brother. Due date still May 9th.

I got my 20 week scan date at the same time as my 12 week one came through (about 2 days after my booking in appointment), but I think that's because I'm consultant led and they want the results of that before my first appointment with them a few days later.

Dudleysmummy · 24/10/2017 11:49

Hey mummies to be! Brand new to MN this is my first post. Have got my 12w scan at half 1 today. Excited and nervous though as similar to others on here had very little in way of sickness etc so hopefully all ok 😊

Dudleysmummy · 24/10/2017 11:51

Just for clarity, Dudley is my fur baby. First real baby on the way early May

Gyoza · 24/10/2017 12:18

@ladypug if it’s worrying you a lot then I think an early scan is definitely worth it!

kkmotts · 24/10/2017 12:20

I had my first scan this morning!! So surreal! Just the one baby for me :) next scan is 13th Dec. We are going to ask them to write the sex in a Christmas card which we will open on Christmas day!! Started telling more friends and family already, it's so nice to hear everyone's reactions! Will tell work in a couple of days too. Hope all other scans and things are going well!

Gyoza · 24/10/2017 13:28

Hello and hope your scan goes well @dudleysmummy

Kirstipops · 24/10/2017 13:30

Aww what a lovely idea kkmotts ! Congrats on your scan! 2 weeks tomorrow til mine, I'm wishing my life away til then haha! We didn't find out the sex at my daughter's scan (though I had a decent idea from the fleeting up-the-bum shotGrin ), right now I think I would like another surprise but will decide nearer the time!

Welcome dudleysmummy , have a brew Brew

I think there are a lot of pros for getting the early scan ladypug , hope you can come to a decision you are happy with soon.

As for wind/gas - omg yes, both ends. In fact it's practically coming out my nose sometimes, total glam mum, me!!

My daughter was a total sweetheart last night, she's 3 and just started nursery and is full of beans about Halloween right now, when she's in good form it makes me v excited to think of her being a big sister!

Firework83 · 24/10/2017 13:37

@ladypug I booked an early scan because I was feeling so unwell i just needed some motivation and it was worth every penny.

Wow 20 week scan dates already! These next 6 months or so are going to go so quickly!

@kkmotts that takes A LOT of willpower to not look for those 2 weeks between your scan and Xmas... i admire you!

kkmotts · 24/10/2017 14:27

@firework83 well I say that now but maybe the curiosity will get the bettter of us nearer the time!! Thanks guys, I look forward to hearing how you all get on too!

LadyPug · 24/10/2017 14:58

Thank you everyone, after deciding to book an early scan I can’t get in! They are so booked up! They have offered me next weekend right before the event (leaving me no time to tell my friend privately) or maybe this week but that’s probably a bit TOO early right? As I’ll only be 9-10 weeks and anything could happen! What would you do?!
