Thanks for the welcome @HandbagFan, glad I found this thread. 20 week scan does make it all a lot more real doesn't it? I had mine at 19 weeks exactly and baby was wriggling around like a maniac!
@MilfordFound, sorry to hear your little one isn't playing ball. Echoing what @HandbagFan has said with my first pregnancy I had to be seen again as DD wasn't co-operating and they are under time pressure to get all checks completed. Really hope your next scan goes better for you.

Needmorehands · 03/01/2018 08:55

@Milford - hope baby is being more cooperative today.
No @wineand pyjamas, we don't know if its pink or blue - are you going to find out?
Good luck for tomorrow @Handbag :)

And just so you're clear what you're all getting into, DH has taken youngest DD to the dentist in her nightie, with a pair of legoman legs stuck on a tooth :D

Wineandpyjamas · 03/01/2018 09:10

Oh no Needmorehands! Sorry but that did make me laugh. Luckily haven't had anything like that with DD yet Grin we weren't going to find out initially but caved, we're having another little girl. Are you going to find out?

MilfordFound · 03/01/2018 12:52

Back from scan and all is fine, phew!

It was a bit intimidating, there was the consultant, 2 medical students, a midwife and a sonographer in the room. Then half way through another doctor came in to see how it was going.

Heart looks normal, no concerns at all. Consultant asked about my appt with her at 28 wks and was I certain I wanted a c section. I said I wanted one but would listen to advice. She said we'd talk about it at the appt but basically they would go with what ever I decide and not to worry about it!
I've had some cake to celebrate Smile

Wineandpyjamas · 03/01/2018 14:49

So happy everything was okay for you Milford It must have been a little worrying having all those people there! Was it you who had issues with pgp in your previous pregnancy? I did too and it's started flaring up again now, feel so awful not being able to play all these active games with my DD. Did you find out gender at the scan?

MilfordFound · 03/01/2018 16:32

It was really worrying Wineandpyjamas! Freaked me out a bit in case they were all there because something was wrong. I'm so relieved all is OK.

No pgp last pregnancy, but I've started with it recently. Over Xmas, sitting on the floor playing with my daughter made me stiff and sore. It's just got rapidly worse since then, I'm hobbling round feeling a bit ridiculous, but it's so painful! I've been given a pelvic support belt which I'm sceptical of but I'll give it a good go. If it's this bad now I'm a bit nervous of how I'll cope for the next 4 months!
Found out the gender at first attempt of 20wk scan, it's a boy Smile

Needmorehands · 03/01/2018 17:10

So glad it was good news in the end Milford :)

For those of you with PGP/SPD - get to your local chiropractor as soon as you can. Had it badly from 18wks with pg4 and he kept me able to do the daily school runs, even without the uncomfortable elastic belt. I would have left DH for him without a backwards glance! So far this time it hasn't been nearly so bad, I think 4 pregnancies in 6years was probably overdoing it a bit!

Happy ending to DD2 and her lego/tooth saga this morning. She has been thoroughly told off for being daft, but it was removed without damaging the tooth, and the dental staff enjoyed the light relief to their morning :D

LadyPug · 03/01/2018 19:03

Hey everyone! Not been on here for six weeks!! Didn’t realise so much time had passed and as I’m on the Facebook group I figured I was keeping up on there but lots of people aren’t on there I know so checking in and saying hello to you all and now catching up on the thread. My 20 week scan is tomorrow!

Wineandpyjamas · 03/01/2018 20:32

Yeah PGP can be an absolute nightmare Milford I've heard great things about the pelvic support belts and Needmorehands I'm gonna book in with a physio asap! I do quite a physically demanding job, live in a hilly area and don't drive so kinda relying on my body to play ball. Last pregnancy I was virtually housebound by the end.
LadyPug exciting about scan tomorrow! Have you felt kicks etc yet? Is there a Facebook group? I'd love to join if possible as I use that more tbh. I'm still a (silent lurker) on the group I was in when ttc.

Noredwine · 03/01/2018 22:50

Welcome 2ashamed2benamed (hope you are not really ashamed?) and wine and pjs!
Hurrah Milford - glad all ok in the end with your scan. Pip squeak was awkward too and they spent ages looking for heart valves and flow at my second attempted scan!
No more hands - travel system arrived today (without the free car seat which I think they have missed off the order!! Duh) totally freaked out by having it in the house as DH put it together to check all there and works! We went for a Cosatto Giggle2 from mothercare as was in sale and i didn't want to go mad on cost and liked the design and adjustable handles as hubbie quite a bit taller than me. It's a 3 wheeler job. Have no idea whether we have chosen well or not but it will have to do! X

LadyPug · 04/01/2018 09:21

Thank you wineandpyjamas I’ve just started feeling movements on New Years Eve but now just a few days later they are a lot more distinct and solid. Excited about scan! I forget who has access to the Facebook group but I think it’s @MilfordFound who can get you in!

HandbagFan · 04/01/2018 10:42

Great news Milford - I’m glad everything went welll and only sorry that you had all that worry!

LadyPug - lovely to see you back here, it’s been a while! Good luck with the scan today. It’s mine today too so fingers crossed for us all!

Wineandpyjamas - I hope you don’t suffer too badly! I only really felt pain with DS by about 32 weeks and by the time it got bad it seemed too late really to do anything. This time round I’ve had twinges from the very beginning. I’m certainly not housebound but I am conscious of not pushing too hard. Once it goes, I can’t find a way to get relief until it goes if it’s own accord! Sure DH thinks I make it up!

Wineandpyjamas · 04/01/2018 10:44

Thanks for the welcome Noredwine Travel systems are fab - had one with my dd also from mothercare on sale. Going to use it with the new one, so glad we kept hold of it! Well worth the money.
MilfordFound is it you I talk to about the Facebook group? Would love to join if possible.
LadyPug yes the movements are getting stronger now, I can feel her flipping about much more now, though she still seems very low down.

Wineandpyjamas · 04/01/2018 10:49

HandbagFan - I was similar with my dd it didn't show up till about 33 weeks but midwife did say with following pregnancies would be likely to show up earlier. Last time was too late to get benefit from physio so that's why I'm doing it this time around. I'm not too bad as long as I don't strain myself too much.

MilfordFound · 04/01/2018 12:38

I'm not in the facebook group, haven't got round to joining yet. I can't remember who's the gatekeeper either!

LadyPug · 04/01/2018 15:39

Argh sorry Milford Thank you Handbagfan I know, I’ve not been here in ages! Good luck for today, I’m en route!

Wineandpyjamas · 04/01/2018 15:46

Good luck HandbagFan and LadyPug for scans today. Hope your little ones play ball for you Wink

HandbagFan · 04/01/2018 16:06

Hello! All went well today. We’re having a second boy - it was quite clear on the Scan! All arms and legs were there, but like last time they couldn’t do the heart measurements so I’m going back for a second one to see if baby is more cooperative!

Hope everything is going well for LadyPug

cautiousoptimist1 · 04/01/2018 17:00

Lovely news on scans ladies and good to see you again Ladypug. I contacted Lorz to get into the FB group but am not in yet either so I got the wrong person too! Grin

My 20 week scan is tomorrow, I'm a bit nervous about it but think that's normal.

My DD is teething again at the moment and it's been so painful getting her to sleep. I was a bit down last night wondering how I'll cope with 2 but had a text from a friend this morning and she was up between 1 and 4 with her little boy too so it's not just me! This too shall pass.

I think because I've been so worried about coping with 2 under 2 (just!), I haven't really been excited about the new addition. I hope the scan tomorrow helps me know all is ok and then let me get excited about his/her arrival. I already know how I want their bedroom which I find exciting so I might purchase a couple of decorative bits for that!

Wineandpyjamas · 04/01/2018 18:01

Haha maybe someday we'll find the right person with the keys to the fb group cautiousoptimist1 I'm sure I saw who it was when I skim read the thread before I posted but not sure I can be bothered to trawl through it all again!
Good luck tomorrow with the scan - let us know how it goes! How old is your DD? I'm wondering how I'm going to manage 2 as well!
Aww HandbagFan a little boy how lovely. Sorry he wasn't co-operating and you have to go back! They can be stubborn little so and so's!

LadyPug · 04/01/2018 18:48

Hooray handbagfan glad all went well! All went good for us too (except due to admin mix up hospital didn’t have us in for an appt but they saw us in the end anyway! All good, don’t know the sex and all fine (pic attached)

Hey cautious long time no see! How are you? Good luck for tomorrow, nervous is normal! I will put a message on the Facebook group to get everyone access!

Yay happy to see the 20 week scans Grin mine is tomorrow too @cautiousoptimist1 x

cautiousoptimist1 · 04/01/2018 19:53

Hi Wineandpyjamas, sorry not sure if I already welcomed you to our group! DD is nearly 19 months.

Lovely clear scan ladypug, looks like your little bean will be shy.

What's your due date Phoenix? I'm 19th May so almost 21 weeks.

Congrats on your second boy Handbagfan, hope it's having only positive reactions! I worry about those people who think it's a shame that you don't get one of each! Have you started thinking about names yet?!

Wineandpyjamas · 04/01/2018 20:13

Thanks for the welcome cautious - you're only a few days due after me, I'm 14th of may.

Lovely pic LadyPug and glad it all went well. Thanks very much for putting a notice on the fb group!

PhoenixDown good luck with your scan tomorrow!
