Aggy if I can manage it I might do walking/running intervals and see how I go

Noredwine · 05/12/2017 21:47

Cautious - nope - we are going to have a surprise! It's our first together (hubbie has a 13 year old boy from first marriage) and we really don't mind which gender it is so both want to wait so we have something else to look forward to!
I had 6 or 7 funny twitches/feelings in same place on lower right side this morning when out walking the huskies so wonder again if that might have been pip squeak but can't be sure! Could just be weird tummy/digestion stuff although very low down!!

Aggy106 · 06/12/2017 08:04

symphony that's a good thought if you can manage it, hope it goes well. I've been trying to do lots of walking instead so will try to keep that up.

I'm not feeling any movement yet, occasionally I think I feel something but think it's just digesting noises. How do you tell?

cautious really hope it's coming to an end for you. Hope you manage to get through to someone to book your scan, is there another number you can try?

Blueberry1 · 06/12/2017 12:35

@Noredwine - You only put on 4lb? That's nothing; I''ve put on over 4 kgs (9lb!) & have visible baby bump that people notice for more than a month now (currently nearly 19 weeks). I think people show at different times. Someone I run with says she hardly looked pregnant at all until 5 months, then big bump came almost overnight!

I've started feeling the baby move a bit now; no longer just indigestion! Last Sunday, I overdosed on tea (out with friends, wanted black tea, cafe didn't have decaf...) then slept really badly due to being too awake from the theine & it seems to have stimulated the baby to move a lot; it felt like he/she (don't know gender) was doing gymnastics Shock! Not great to start the week with a bad night's sleep, but maybe practice for later Wink.

I have no idea how much weight I’ve put on as I’ve not been weighing myself, but I do look very obviously pregnant! I’m 18+2 and since the weekend been feeling really obvious regular movement, but before that I couldn’t feel anything and was getting worried - it totally came from nowhere!

Got my 16 week appointment on Fri (2 weeks late) - do they listen to the heartbeat at this one does anyone know? Can’t recall from last time.

Also got my 20 week scan a week today, and we are finding out the gender, so looking forward to that!

Noredwine · 07/12/2017 08:25

Blueberry - weighed myself yesterday and was 6 pounds and this morning 8! So think it is going in right direction but fluctuating a bit!
Captain - at my 15 week midwife appointment they listened to heartbeat but I know some don't as they say it can be too early and don't want to worry mum if they can't find heartbeat.
Have my 20 week scan this afternoon! (Actually 19 w + 4 today). Nervous and excited in equal measure! Just hoping pip squeak is developing properly and happily wiggling around even though I can't feel him/her! X

Blueberry1 · 07/12/2017 12:32

@CaptainsCat - at my 2nd (16 week) midwife appointment I got to hear heartbeat. Appointment wasn't in hospital, so midwife warned that it could take up to 10 minutes to locate heartbeat with handheld device, but actually she found it quite quickly.

@noredwine - My weight seems to be fluctuating a bit too, but generally in one direction!

Good luck with 20 week scan both of you Smile. Mine is next week and DP keeps teasing me that he's not coming "because I've already seen the baby" ha ha.

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 07/12/2017 13:46

Capitanscat the midwife listened to the heartbeat at both my 16 week appointments - there was a student observing this time, so I got the full bells and whistles!

cautiousoptimist1 · 07/12/2017 15:41

Hope everything was well with your scan nored.

I have my appointment woohoo! They called me today to return my 4 voicemail messages and they've booked me in for Jan 5th when I'll be 20+6.

My weight is fluctuating too. I was nearly underweight (bmi 18.5) so expected to put on weight quickly but I've been so sick that it's still been pretty slow. I'm sure all the humbugs and crisps will catch up with me soon!

Noredwine · 07/12/2017 22:27

Hurrah! Scan was fine! Phew! Pip squeak is still there and moving around - lots of vogue like poses with arms and hands above and around head! Despite 3 attempts at full scan (after wandering around, drinking water, no weeing, weeding, jumping up and down, he/she still wouldn't move into a suitable position for all the measurements to be taken so I get to have another scan in another couple of weeks!! I'm not complaining- it's so reassuring to see pip squeak is ok. Everything they could see and measure was fine - heart, brain, face, limbs, stomach etc. But couldn't get to base of spine or kidneys as bum was too wedged down and wouldn't move!! Was awkward at 12 week scan too!! Clearly going to be an awkward child! Feel so bloody relieved- had no reason to think anything was up but had clearly been more anxious than I thought about it as felt emotionally drained afterwards and then had to go straight to team Xmas party when could easily have gone home to bed! Just on train home now and off to Germany tomorrow for long weekend with hubbie and best mate and her husband to see the Christmas markets in Munich! And I had a thimble of prosecco and red wine tonight to celebrate! X

HerSymphonyAndSong · 08/12/2017 06:06

Lovely news noredwine! (Though you did have red wine ;) )

I also have my work Christmas do straight after 20 week scan!

CaptainsCat · 08/12/2017 09:05

That’s great news noredwine Grin

cautiousoptimist1 · 08/12/2017 11:59

Great news noredwine, enjoy Munich it's a lovely city. I love Xmas markets too, haven't been to those in Munich but I'm sure they'll be brilliant. They used to do an alcohol free hot apple drink as an alternative to mulled wine.

Noredwine · 08/12/2017 15:21

Thanks ladies! The red wine (literally a cm worth at bottom of a glass) smelt soooo good! I made it last so long and kept sniffing it!! Have really missed my red wine!
Alcohol free warm apple drink as an alternative to mulled wine sounds nice though - shall have to keep an eye out for it! Photo of pip squeak attached x

Great news noredwine - I can't wait until my scan. Enjoy the Xmas markets - love the idea of an alcohol-free alternative to mulled wine

Aggy106 · 10/12/2017 09:51

Lovely pic nored and hope you have fun in munich

I've asked to join the FB group. Does anyone know if it's private or do any posts show on your news feed to friends? Sorry I'm not in many FB groups!

Aggy106 · 11/12/2017 20:39

Hi cautious it's a secret group so nothing should appear on your news feeds.

Blueberry1 · 13/12/2017 16:00

20 week scan this afternoon revealed that all is well Smile. This was after sonographer tilted me up & down trying to get baby to shift position so he could see better. Baby was lying languidly across me so obviously takes after DP who does that on the sofa while watching telly!

CaptainsCat · 13/12/2017 22:16

Glad your scan went well blueberry!

I had my scan this evening, all was healthy with baby, who we found out is a boy!

Noredwine · 15/12/2017 00:08

Congrats Captain and Blueberry! So lovely when you have had your 20 week scan and know all is well and to get to see baby chilling out!

Don't know about anyone else but I have suddenly developed a proper pregnant tummy that comes out from under my boobs when a week ago there was nothing really there at all! Quite loving my new bump! Feel properly pregnant now! X

Fulltimeparent · 18/12/2017 13:38

Hi all haven't posted in a while just wondering if anyone has had a cervical stitch. Have an appointment on Monday with the consultant, not feeling good about it had scan to check the cervix everything was looking good . Might have to have one as I have had 2 babies really early.

Fulltimeparent · 18/12/2017 13:48

been to the hospital everything turned out ok won't be needing the stitch but will have monitor the baby movements.

Aggy106 · 18/12/2017 18:14

Hi fulltime sorry no experience of this glad it went ok at the appointment and you don't need to have a stitch, hope everything continues to go well!

Fulltimeparent · 18/12/2017 18:58
