I think i'm just gonna wait to see what they say tomorrow and go from there.

The really annoying thing is that my one and only thing i dreaded with being pg agian was being induced. I had a crap time with it last time and i don't want to be induced again anyway! Thing is it's either that or wait til god knows when for it to come on it's own.

I said the other day that MIL is having radioactive treatment on wed and now feel under pressure to get it out by tuesday so she can meet lo before not being able to see it for two weeks. (and it is radiactive not radiotherapy, incase people think i'm mad!!!!)

I know she won't pressure me, she's a great MIL, but it's just bad timing

Oh fuck it, shall i just tell them to poke their induction and leave me alone. It surely has to come out at some point before i burst

Eddas · 12/04/2007 10:28

Christ WO that sounds terrible, poor friend

Well i assume they'd cope if i was in labour. I can understand their point of not putting pressure on staff if i'm not already in labour. It's just so frustrating. I don't blame the staff, I blame cutbacks.

I also think that if my mw had phoned before monday to book me in then i would have one of the 3 places on monday anyway and they'd have to do it then as i'd be 14 days overdue.

Just crap really and as bloody usual the only person annoyed is me. Well dh is too! Just only ever seems to happen to me

Right, self indulgent whinging over. Nothing i can do so need to shut my arse up and move on !!!

Thanks for being so caring ladies

Lusciousladylush · 12/04/2007 10:32

Hi all,

Sorry I haven't posted lately, but I do like to check in and see how you are all doing whenever DS lets me get on the 'puter'.. I've had to set him up with a notepad typicng page so when he comes to see me typing, he thinks I'm just looking after his 'work' for him.. and not yet 3 - a monster I have sporned (or a dictator!).

Congrats to all you lovely ladies with your babies, I am so !

Eddas am shocked at the way you are being treated re your induction - how crap is that! Have resorted to glass of wine and hot curry and baths to try and shift my little one as I can't even walk to the end of the road now and back I am so huge and uncomfortable. Woke up yesterday morning with the first nose bleed of my life - what is all that about, apparently also common in pregnancy at the end! Hey I'm beginning to think anything goes when you are about to drop!.

whywhywhy · 12/04/2007 10:40

hi ladies

typing this over Keir's head as he seems strangely unwilling to sleep in his moses basket but will do so on a cushion on my knee for some reason....

Eddas just wanted to say what a pain in the a* your hospital are being. It sucks.

Big labour vibes to all overdue....

-the night before Keir arrived I had curry, rasp. leaf tea (x3) caullophyllum (homeopathic)and massaged the uterus reflexology point on my ankle (you should feel it as a sore point just below the anklebone!) No sex though - so those are my induction tips.

The labour was mercifully short but more painful than my first by quite a bit. Keir came out with a load of meconium and I could tell the mw was worried in the second stage, as she kept telling me to 'push hard'- but he was fine, just came out covered in poo poor lamb!8 lb 10 oz, with 37 cm head which mw said is pretty big.

Had my first interesting sleepless night with him- I'm terrible with newborns, can't sleep even when they do....guess this is for the post natal thread now....

ellie once dh is back from taking ds1 out I will get a photo to you! love to all x Ruth & Keir

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 12/04/2007 10:40

Morning ladies. God it has been busy on here.

Huge Congratulations to Lesley and Birdie - lovely names on both counts. I am soooooo pleased for you both. Hope all is well.

Eddas, I am fuming on your behlf. What unbelievable treatment. I hope you are ok.

I see CB hasn't been back on today.......

MIAMT, hope you are feeling ok today.

WO, I thought I had had a show, but not sure now. Just been having blood-streaked mucus on and off for a few days, so not sure if that counts or not.

How is everyone else doing?

Relations with dh ok now. I think he felt a bit bad as he bought me a Flake whilst out, and then suggested that B be in preschool all day today as opposed to just the a.m. to give me a break. God love him. He also made B's breakfast and fed the cats! It is his birthday today, so should be me running around after him, but really glad he has been so helpful and thoughtful after yesterday.

Need to get on and wrap pressies etc. so will be back later.

Lots of love to all of you. Don't know what I would do without you lovely ladies. xx

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 12/04/2007 10:42

Wow, whywhywhy, a big boy then! So glad all is well and look forward to the pics. xx

Lusciousladylush · 12/04/2007 10:47

If 37cm is big for a head size, whats average? I had terrible trouble pushing out my DS1 and his head was 37cm and my mw didn't mention anything.

Now feel a little happier and hope DS2 when he decides to make an apperance doesn't have a big head like his bro!!!

Pesha · 12/04/2007 10:47

Congratulations Lesley

Congratulations Birdie

Theres babies popping out all over the place at the moment!!

Eddas - sorry hospital were so shit, must be so frustrating to be all geared up for it and then told its not happening.

Nutty PMSL at you locking dh out Sorry, prob wasnt very funny at the time!

And thats all I can remember , sorry everyone else.

Well had hospital appointment, all fine, baby still not engaged at all, and he reckons will be about the same size as last 2 (8lb and 8lb5) which is reassuring, feels huge to me but I think thats probably partly to do with not being engaged yet whereas the other 2 were quite early on. They offered me a 'scratch and sniff' ( love that, although if they actually said that to me I would prob sue for harassment!) but I said no as im not due till monday and in no big hurry to get him out yet. And my due date by my calculations was 20th and think thats prob more accurate. Have another appointment next week where they'll offer it again and think I may well be feeling bit more desperate by then! Although dps grandads 80th birthday thing is on sun 22nd, its a meal in a pub and I thought was just gonna be close family but turns out theres loads of people invited and its a proper big party type thing and to be honest id rather still be pregnant for it than having to cope with a newborn and bfing and all these people Ive never met before. But then if Ive only just had baby i prob wont go at all!

IsabellyMoi · 12/04/2007 10:59

Delighted for you Birdie!! A beautiful name, too, and glad you got the water birth. Very well done!

Eddas - am totally at your experience. As someone else said, I would think the most trying thing about it all is that you get all mentally prepared for one thing and then the plan changes completely. Sounds like you are being way more philosophical about it than most of us would be - good for you. Hope you get some really good care the next time you are in.

Bumble at your experience with the blood tests and iron. Glad the Dr could fit you in (and that you got some well-deserved pampering at your hair app't!!!).

Off for a swim...I need this baby to descend and figure some lengths can only help!

nuttygirl · 12/04/2007 10:59

Morning all,

Congratulations to Lesley & Birdie .

Well I did let DH back in (cos he was knocking a bit too loudly on the windows and didn't want to annoy the neighbours). Gave him a good talking to and finally sorted stuff out. Lozenges from Asda seemed to help a bit and there doesn't seem to be a limit on how many you can take . Was hoping to get a lie in to recover but unfortunately the only time mw could fit me in for sweep was half 9. So have had about 2hr sleep!

Sweep went well tho, cervix was central and ripe and fully effaced and soft (no idea what that all means but apparently it's likely the sweep will work). Also I was 1-2cm dilated and had a show when she did the sweep. She did comment that "If this doesn't shift it I'm not sure what will" , although when I told my mum she said "the way things are going I think you might need a stick of dynamite "

Eddas - I've got my induction booked (in case sweep doesn't work) and I've been told I have to ring hospital at 7.30am on the day to see if they have a bed available. I can't believe they let you get to the hospital to send you home . It's awful that you weren't told it might not happen. At least I can feel mentally prepared that on the day they may say they can't do it.

Pesha · 12/04/2007 11:03

Nutty glad your sweep went well, sounds like things could start happening for you soon then

EllieKthePA · 12/04/2007 11:08

no fair, i want a sweep

they've made no mention of them here at all, and as i don't see mw now until i get really sick of being overdue, not much chance then!

OP posts:
nuttygirl · 12/04/2007 11:11

Ellie - can you not ring your mw and ask about one?

eca · 12/04/2007 11:23

wow, what a busy night! Hope everyone's not too washed out this morning!

Huge congratulations to LesleyR & Birdiebump!! Babies everywhere!

Good luck to Clarice and doghouse!!

Eddas!! nooooooo!!! Ahhh! how frustrating! at the NHS! Unbelievable. How are you meant to cope with all that?????????????

Ellie - you're commitment to our gossip-hungry ears is outstanding!!

Bumble - ahh! That sounds annoying! Sorry to hear the stress it's caused you. Glad you got the bloods app brought forward. Hope everythings ok for youxxx

MIABT - hope the app for bloods goes ok. I hate having a blood sample done, let alone a load in case I need a transfusion !

SOSPL - glad to hear dh is being a bit better. hope things settle down a bit for you xx

WWW- looking forward to seeing the pics!

Pesha · 12/04/2007 11:24

I would ring up and ask ellie. Seems strange to me that you're not seeing anyone now anyway, they wont leave me alone here and its my 3rd when i thought they didnt bother so much. Ring up and say you want a sweep and if they not keen just lay it on abit thick about how uncomfortable you are and how coping with matthew is getting really difficult and whatever else you can think of to make yourself sound desperate

EllieKthePA · 12/04/2007 11:25

nutty
i've left a message on the ansaphone but how silly am i gonna feel asking if they can have a rumage in my cervix

Hi Nutty, glad the sweep went well, everything sounds favourable for some action soon.

m/w has offered me a sweep for next tues, if i want it. I'm due sat, so maybe I'll give it a go!

Pesha · 12/04/2007 11:30

Am feeling really sick today, only had time for an apple before hospital appointment then had alpen when i got back but my body does not seem to be liking it at all And now really should go scrub horrid stinky car rug.

But i do have an appointment at toni and guy this afternoon for haircut with lovely back massaging chairs and it means I get a break from the kids for an hour or 2! YAY And then I will finally be all ready for the baby!!

EllieKthePA · 12/04/2007 11:30

eca · 12/04/2007 11:34

ooooh toni&guy !!

Ellie - it is wierd that we seem to be getting vv different care. I would have thought they would have at least been seeing you still .

Pesha · 12/04/2007 11:36

I know But he's not a senior stylist so will be £33 which isnt too bad is it? Yes the woman up the road would do it for £15-£20 but she's done my hair 3 times, 1 was nice but the other 2 I hated. And I only get it cut about once every 6 months. And seeing as im so fat and puffy and pregnant my hair is the only thing i have to feel good about.

Can you tell Ive already had some justifying to do to dp

EllieKthePA · 12/04/2007 11:37
